  1. I have spent some time analyzing the TN gun laws for my own knowledge and tried to simplify the most common scenarios that many of us may encounter. The following flowchart doesn't include all situations like employees of universities with permits, for example. However, I tried to include what I understood as the laws and how they pertain to those with and without a permit. I am not sure that this is exactly correct and the law seems to be a bit more complicated than I would like, but I attempted to put it in a format that I could more easily consume. I would appreciate any feedback or help in validating what is here. Please do not bank on this being 100% acccurate as laws change and my interpretation may not have been correct in some situations. Hopefully it helps some of us not get into unnecessary trouble. Thanks EDIT: Updated May 27, 2022 TN Gun Carry Law Flowchart-updatedMay272022.pdf

  2. I've known I had to have one of these from the first moment I heard of them. Been looking hard for over year and nobody has had any one in my area. This morning I called all the LGSs and still no luck. A couple of days ago Chucktshoes that he had seen one at Cypress Creek Outdoors in Dyersburg. So just on a whim I called to see if it was still there. It WAS! With nothing better to do on a Saturday afternoon, I jumped in my truck and headed North. I'm now the proud owner of a brand spankin' new Springfield Armory SA-35! BTW: price was MSRP at $699. Not being a fan of heavily checkered grips, I put a nice set of smooth Houge Pau Ferros on it. Looks great! I hope to get it to the range next week. Range report to follow. And here's an updated family portrait. Thanks Chuck! BTW: that's a very nice store. Everything an outdoorsman might need. Very friendly people too. Had a nice chat with the saleslady while I was there. If you're in the area, check it out.

  3. While this is a steep price, it is as close as you can get to a new Marlin 22 cal. lever action. Extremely good condition. I bought it new in Oct 1991 and has less than 500 rounds through it. Included are the box with the packing materials including the vapor sheet, instruction manual, factory scope mount and hammer spur - never mounted. $1200.00 or trade this rifle and the Beretta 92f in my other ad. toward a new series 4 in. Colt Python.

  4. Italian made Beretta 92f. Very good condition, manufactured in 1990, no plastic parts. 2 mec-gar 18 round and 4 Beretta 15 round magazines for a total of 6 mags. Galco combat master holster included. It has aftermarket grips installed and the D hammer spring and newer style retaining pin in place. Double action is very good with this improved factory spring. The original parts and grips are included. $650.00. Located in East Tennessee.

  8. Price changed to $430 FIRM. I have gotten a lot of offers by text that were ok and some that were lowball offers , so I think $430 for this pistol is fair.

  9. If you're in a situation where $50 or $100 either way is gonna make or break your budget, it's time to reevaluate your priorities.

  10. I’ve decided that if you are buying from me, you are coming to me…with cash. I will afford you the same courtesy if you are the seller. I will be there at the agreed upon time unless something beyond my control prevents it, in which case I will notify you immediately. I cannot understand why this is so hard for people to do. It only takes a small bit of respect for your fellow man.

  13. Driving up I40 yesterday heading to my kid’s baseball tournament, I spied a quite attractive girl pulled over on the shoulder, digging around in her car’s trunk while wearing shorts that could better be described as a thin belt with her azz cheeks prominently displayed. She was parked conveniently next to a wooded area where one couldn’t see what I expect was a group of thugs ready to take advantage of the first dumb guy who was generous enough to stop and offer help. I told the wife that reminded me of the fake deer game wardens place in fields to attract road hunters. I was surprised to not see the after effects of this display on the news this morning. Sorry guys. I was running 80 in traffic and decided against my better judgement to not get out the phone and snap a pic. Perhaps I’m just cynical anymore, but it sure looked like a trap to me.

  15. Not sure where you were going with the original post, but as far as the direction this post is pointed, all I can say is “Don’t”. Not commenting one way or another about the details, we just don’t talk general politics here. If it is directly related to 2A legislation then we are about that. R vs D vs (?), not wanted.

  16. Yeah, Powell’s gone nationwide. Hard for a local boy to get a deal. But even if it was all local and In person there’s always someone that doesn’t know any limitations...like the guy buying M1 clips.

  17. Oh, I know. I do keep up with the local auction house and got all excited a couple of years ago when they had a bunch of nice S&W revolvers. They were running low so I thought why not. Gave it a shot then they started off into more than than I was willing to bid. Do you have that sweet Model 18 I was trying to get?

  19. Planted a bunch of seedlings today.... sweet peppers, bell peppers, zucchini, yellow squash, spaghetti squash, 6 or 8 different types of tomatoes, couple pumpkins, cucumbers, ... plus a couple kinds of beans and peas. I think that's it. Still got hot peppers and brussle sprouts and maybe a couple other things that will go in pots tomorrow.

  25. Sounds and looks like your good to go then. on other reloading forums I’ve read horror stories where guys loaded rounds, had to adj col to a shorter dim., and had bad results because their loads were close to max and the extra pressure from seating the bullet deeper gave them over pressure results. I had a compressed rifle load in .223 that made me nervous pulling the trigger but I researched it to hell before I stuffed the cases and fired them. Mike

  30. Or when those same “reputable” dealers throw stuff up on Gunbroker rather than selling to normal customers who just want to walk into a store and see/buy stuff.

  31. In negotiating classes the is called "Referring to a higher power" Not unlike what the car sales man does when he says "let me run this deal by my sales manager". I get it all the time, I want to talk to my wife or sometimes its the accountant. Most of the time its a ploy to get more time. It is very telling when someone wants to blame others. In those times I want to respond by asking for your wife's number so I can negotiate with her.

  32. Damn, talk about similarities. My wife and I are the same way. We discuss major purchases together to agree. The only thing she's checked me on was I was literally 5 minutes from the Harley Davidson stealership when she finally told me that she didn't want me to buy a motorcycle. I got really pissed about her not telling me her true feelings up front as I value complete honesty between us both. I called the dealership and simply cancelled the purchase. By the time that I got back home I calmed down enough to realize that she witnessed me nearly dying at Beech Bend's 1/4 mile drag strip in my GT500 just a few years before, and the worry she'd have about me on a V-rod on the city streets was immensely greater. Not that she didn't trust me, she didn't trust the other drivers on the street. After my Id, (a Freudian reference), got use to the idea of not having the motorcycle I was glad that I didn't buy it. I had a motorcycle while in the Marine Corps stationed in Kommiefornia where motorcycles are ubiquitous, but here the car and truck drivers do not look for motorcycles very well because they are not ubiquitous.
