A man is only as good as his word. If he needs his wife’s permission to use it or make other excuses to weasel out of an agreement then what do we have? I believe the woke folk call it “gender dysphoria”.4 points

I always cringe when people talk about their wife like this. It makes me wonder what sort of marriage they have. My wife and I discuss purchases like adults and always come to some sort of agreement. In 11 years the only thing my wife has asked me not to buy is a motorcycle. The guy in that conversation is just a selfish idiot. I hate dealing with people like that.4 points

I was going to give my opinion on this matter, but my wife said I should just keep quiet.3 points

My wife's go to answer when I mention buying another gun is "go ahead". She trusts me not to be too stupid. Of course, my most expensive gun was a gift from her.2 points

I remember my Grandparents had what I guess was a root cellar. You could stand up in it but it was only about 6-8' wide and maybe 10-12 feet long. Had floor to ceiling shelves on both sides. In the Fall the shelves would be full from floor to ceiling with canning jars full of everything plus a few bushel baskets of potatoes, squash and other things plus bags of onions. She canned fruit, vegetables even meat. She also made the best noodles. She would set up a regular production run in the kitchen and make enough for a few months after they were dried and stored properly. These days they would be called preppers but that was how they got through the depression and just kept doing it. My grandfather always had a huge garden and they had several fruit trees on their lot. Grandpa also hunted and fished so that helped. One of my memories visiting them was running with the neighbor kids catching chickens. There was a small processing plant a couple of blocks away and the chickens were always getting loose before they could be killed. Told my grandpa that the plant would gives us kids a nickel for every chicken we caught. He said he would give us dime. So we had a new customer.2 points

When I was a kid in Florida the whole family got together for canning day. Started before dawn. My uncle and two cousins would load up in his van and out to a field we went . Picked cucumbers and tomatoes. The rest of the day Grandmah, mom and three aunts cooked up sauces and stuff for pickles. It smelled so good. By evening they had jarred up plenty. The men grilled and us kids churned ice cream. Good memories.2 points

It seems like $90 is about the going rate now for primers. Our last local gun show was actually higher but that didn't really surprise me. Bass Pro seems to be the only place that consistently has primers, sizes vary. $90. I have also seen them at Dunham's for $90, CCI number 41's only. It seems like of all of the stuff you need for reloading the hardest thing to find is still primers.2 points

My name is Tom and I have lived in the Clarksville area since 2015. I'm a 14 year US Army OIF/OEF veteran and I finished my time as a soldier in 2018. I'm currently a student at Sonoran Desert Institute and I really joined so I could get a feel on some of the most common problems gun owners have in the state and what ideas would be the best for my future shop (not advertising, it's not named yet nor does it have a location and I will certainly register as a vendor here when I do). During my time in the Army I was lucky enough to be an armorer in a mechanized Infantry battalion and that was ultimately what sparked my interest in firearms to begin with. Over the years that interest faded until I made a friend who runs a very professional training course not too far from where I live (not advertising, I didn't say the name of business nor the exact location). Ultimately, attending his course several times rekindled my interest in firearms and I doubled down when I realized there was a degree program for that exact sort of thing and frankly, I want to make a living doing what I love which is building custom builds and making repairs. Notable Firearms In My Collection: Largest: S&W .500 Magnum Performance Center Edition Smallest: Ruger LCP Max Longest: Highly Customized 30-06 on an MDTTAC chassis 1st Favorite: My first AR that I built on a G&G Gunworks lower receiver 2nd Favorite: My Canik I bought after my last deployment Most Desired That I Can't Actually Acquire: Browning M2 HB Most In Need Of Cleaning: The AK. It's always the AK.1 point

Comes with: 2 24 rd Cerakoted mags 117 rd mag Apex Trigger Surefire X300 LV Stipple Blown Deadline Cerakote Original case The FN 509® Tactical, an extension of the FN 509 family, is based on FN’s submission pistol that the U.S. Army tested for its Modular Handgun Trials, but includes the significant improvements to the design that were implemented in the FN 509. The pistol features the company’s U.S Patent No. 10/352,654 Low-Profile Optics Mounting System™ that enables the platform to accept more than ten commercially-available miniature red dot (MRD) optics that co-witness with the suppressor-height night sights and remain adaptable to future optics releases with no requirement of direct milling of the slide. The slide cap, for use when not shooting with an optic, has raised sight wings that protect iron sight alignment if the pistol is dropped or jostled, and provides a textured ramp for racking the slide against a belt loop, pant pocket or boot. An FN-signature 4.5-inch, cold hammer-forged, stainless-steel barrel with target crown, ½” x 28 threads that accept the bulk of 9mm suppressors available and thread cap with integrated O-ring to prevent loosening during use complete the top end. Lastly, the 24-round magazines, nearly identical in length to the pistol’s slide, maximize ammunition capacity without impacting carry convenience.1 point

It’s amazing the animals that sunflowers attract. I’m thinking about planting a large area of sunflowers for deer to eat. I’ve never tried it before, but I know they love them1 point

I’m not a Colt guy so I’ll not opine too much, but this is just a commercial Colt 1911 from the ‘70’s. It is not an “old military” model. They stopped making those in 1945 if we’re talking USGI. It being a Colt adds $ for the simple fact that is has the Colt name on it.1 point

If you were on the other side of the state, I’d be sorely tempted by this beautiful revolver!1 point

I'm Stephen and new to the forum. I grew up in a small town in east TN near Chattanooga, went to college at the University of TN in Knoxville, and moved to the suburbs of Memphis about 25 years ago for work. I remember my dad loving guns when I was growing up but I was never personally interested until recently. I own my first handgun - a Sig p365xl - and am taking the enhanced carry class in a week. I've become really interested in going to the range and all things concealed carry. Still learning a lot.1 point

2015 is officially the year of the AK for me. This year alone I have purchased two Century (CAI) "Iraqi Contractor" Romanian WASR 10's, a 2013 production Century (CAI) Romanian WASR 10, Century (CAI) Romanian RPK AES10B, + a Yugoslavian N-PAP DF. I have another Century (CAI) "Iraqi Contractor" Romanian WASR10 + a Century (CAI) Romanian Draco AK pistol en route to my FFL as I write this. As you can see, I am a fan of the weapon system through + through. At the present moment, I am debating the purchase of a Arsenal SLR107FR but I am stuck on if I should pick the variant with plum furniture or all black. Decisions, decisions! Without further ado, I present to you my humble selection of AK's. My granddad asked me to dig one under a shed for him. Now, if my father had made me dig one I'd have felt terribly misused, but I was happy to show my papaw that I was a hard worker, and I busted my hump for a couple of days to get that hole in the ground. My uncle owns that property now, and on the rare occasions that I go there I make sure to admire "my" root cellar, still there and functioning almost 50 years later.1 point

Man, @Cartel you're quite the AK collector! I only have one, but I love it. Bought it as a 1969 Polish parts kit and used an 80% receiver. It was a lot of work, especially since it came with a new barrel so I had to do my own pinning of the barrel and headspacing on top of the drilling and riveting of the receiver. I eventually found a period correct Polish bayonet for it, so with the rifle finally "complete", I had to mark the occasion by watching Red Dawn with the AK on display!1 point

The only thing you can tell from that picture is it’s probably a Colt 1911, maybe a basic Government model...and that someone ruined a perfectly good dictionary that they could probably use, lol.0 points

Has anyone wondered why you can now buy canning jars with lids and rings, but not the lids or rings separately?? Sort of like you can buy a lawnmower and when you need a sparkplug, sorry you have to buy another lawnmower.0 points
