  3. A father used to say to his children when they were young: —When you all reach the age of 12 I will tell you the secret of life. One day when the oldest turned 12, he anxiously asked his father what was the secret of life. The father replied that he was going to tell him, but that he should not reveal it to his brothers. —The secret of life is this: The cow does not give milk. "What are you saying?" Asked the boy incredulously. —As you hear it, son: The cow does not give milk, you have to milk it. You have to get up at 4 in the morning, go to the field, walk through the corral full of manure, tie the tail, hobble the legs of the cow, sit on the stool, place the bucket and do the work yourself. That is the secret of life, the cow does not give milk. You milk her or you don't get milk. There is this generation that thinks that cows GIVE milk. That things are automatic and free: their mentality is that if "I wish, I ask..... I obtain." "They have been accustomed to get whatever they want the easy way...But no, life is not a matter of wishing, asking and obtaining. The things that one receives are the effort of what one does. Happiness is the result of effort. Lack of effort creates frustration." So, share with your children from a young age the secret of life, so they don't grow up with the mentality that the government, their parents, or their cute little faces is going to give them everything they need in life. Remember "Cows don't give milk; you have to work for it."

  4. I am selling this rifle to fund a custom build. The rifle has a 16” carbon fiber barrel, the trigger tech adjustable trigger and rock solid folding stock. In addition an MPA Enhanced Vertical Grip was installed as well as a Dead Air Key Mount muzzle break which is very effective and allows quick attachment of a .30 cal can if you run one. Round count is under 200 rounds. This is a very light, accurate and portable system. If it doesn't sell at this price it goes back in the safe. Thanks for looking. Christensen MPR .308= $2000.00

  5. What do you guys think about the soon to be released documentary covering the TTV investigation into vote trafficking? I've kept pretty quiet on the subject ever since the election was decided as I hadn't felt like I had seen enough data - one way or the other - to form a solid opinion on the accusation of mass fraud (many stories though). With all I've observed since then, many events, stories, and narratives haven't "sat right" with me. I understand there has always been cases of fraud in each election, but the narrative that "this was the 'most secure election' in history and anyone who says otherwise is a conspiracy nut", to me, begs the question. The continuous outright denial of possible integrity to the accusation - including the validity of conducting appropriate investigations - and oppositional attacks regarding many key topics recently has stayed on my mind. When any contrary opinion is no longer deemed as "your opinion" or even "your truth", but as "misinformation" to be fact-checked and censored by various institutions, I think we have a very big problem. I tend to be a pretty deep thinker and won't let anyone bully me into believing something that doesn't track. All I care about is getting at the truth, but unfortunately so many have become aggressively unwilling to have any kind of critical discussion about opposing viewpoints or controversial topics in general (whether or not facts are shared...which almost always leads to "your facts"). I also understand that this point of history has been incredibly difficult for many and that nerves tend to be a little raw. However, I don't think it's responsible or right to avoid these harder conversations, especially ones like this that carry incredible importance for the country. While I was never committed to the idea that there was indeed mass voter fraud - enough to tip the election - I never felt like it was outside the realm of possible. Lately, I'm starting to think that the accusation looks to be very well true. Anyway, I'm eager to continue digging and see where things lead.

  6. We do go to the mountains together some. I love my Wife with all my heart. I love doing things with her. We just don't have to do everything together. She will take the kids and her mother on a cruise and come back glowing. Nothing makes me happier. If I was stuck on a boat that long I'd be miserable and she wouldn't have fun because she'd know it. It wouldn't matter how much I pretend to have fun. On the flip side, dragging her all over the country shooting hogs at midnight would not be her idea of fun. Her mother and sister would never go on vacation because they are both single. Because I stay home, they don't feel like they are intruding by going. They also don't mind helping with the kids. It works out great for everyone. In the end, we both respect one another and communicate. I hope you guys have a great relationship with you significant other. It doesn't matter how you're relationship is structured, as long as you respect and love one another.

  7. You are correct, I just stopped in to pick up some powder and was able to buy 5k small pistol primers. Never heard of the brand, Unis Ginex made in Bosnia. I'll take what I can get right now.

  8. That’s great. My wife and I happen to enjoy each other’s company. Sometimes that involves one of us doing something when we might rather be doing something else. Usually we have common interests though.

  9. I stopped at a pawn shop down the ways from me that I visit here and there. The other day I noticed this CZ75 sitting in the corner. It's a plain jane 75 but it's hardly been fired and the price was only $333. There is no more striker pistols nor plastic pistols that I want. I have got to where now I am shooting my metal hammer guns a lot more and having fun. I think it's called getting old. The CZ75 platform in my opinion is right on line with the Beretta 92 series and the Ruger P-Series. These three platforms simply run and run. Good ole DA/SA with a hammer and the ability to carry cocked-and-locked or DA with the hammer down. It's heavy and well made. It has the old school original style innards and not the new "Omega" innards. I am very surprised to find this at this price with the crazy high guns prices I have been seeing lately. Thought I'd share. The wet looking stuff around the slide-stop and safety-lever is oil.

  10. My wife and I have probably been on our last cruise together, as it is bell on earth to me. She has friends she goes on trips with. That’s great with me. Oddly enough, although we’ve never had an opportunity to shoot hogs, one of her favorite things to do I’d frog gigging.

  26. Nothing about our southern border is truly funny, But one has to find humor somewhere among all the mess. I consider the lawsuits frivolous. Maybe thr US should sue the Federales for not securing the south side of the border. Maybe if firearms weren't so hard to obtain legally in Mexico it wouldn't be so corrupt.

  27. My Wife likes the beach. I've had my fill of the salt water and sand. I'd be miserable. She knows this and would feel horrible trying to make me go. She would hate doing what I do on vacation and I refuse to demand She go. We live our own lives together with a common goal and the understanding that we are equal. I refuse to tell my Wife how to live her life and instead support her. In return She reciprocates. It's fantastic.

  28. I've got a couple of pump action 22 rifles. One of my prized possessions is a bolt action shotgun. It was the first shotgun I ever shot. Eventually I inherited it from my Grandfather. It's probably a $200 shotgun to most people but to me it's priceless.

  29. Mine too, along with a lot of other repairs in 1977. Made it to 2018 before I had total replacement. It never was completely right after the first surgeries I had back then, but I learned to live with it. The last 10 years before they installed the bionic knee, I had multiple injections each year, some of cortisone, many with the ground up rooster comb concoctions. I should have had it replaced years before I did, but at least I can walk again now, albeit slowly and with a slight limp. The arthroscopic surgeries they can do now are much less intrusive and the recovery period is far less, my advice would be to bite the bullet and get it done right away, hopefully preventing some of the long-term damage that I did to mine by waiting too long ...

  31. Had two tears in my left knee repaired and a arthritic grit sucked out of my knee about 7 years ago, arthoscopically. I was up walking around in a TVA Switchyard 4 days later. Spent the weekend on crutches, though. It sucked. But I started PT two weeks later, for couple of weeks, then I was good to go. Swelling never completely went down, but I've been hiking on it, ever since. Still get some pain, but nothing major.

  34. Yep, The tear in my right knee started aggravating my left knee, my right hip, and my lower back. I have never had back issues like so many friends and family members so I was concerned. After fixing the knee and getting everything strong again it all went away. Years later and no lower back pain, no knee pain, and no hip issues. I was surprised at how much hip strength and flexibility affected knee function. I did not really think of them as all that related or connected until I started focusing on my hips in physical therapy to strengthen the upper leg and knee. The big trigger for me to finally break down and have the surgery was when my knee would just buckle at unexpected times. All those other muscles that are compensating for your injured knee can just basically give up for a moment. It really liked to do it when I was going up stairs. I dropped my motorcycle once when I put my right foot down and the knee buckled. Parked the bike, started physical therapy, then scheduled the surgery right after that.

  36. A few of my smaller pocket knives. The top one is the oldest. Unknown manufacturer, bone handle, possibly came over from Sweden with my great grandfather. The middle is a Case XX 6235-1/2 from ‘78. I think I got this in cub scouts. The third is a JA Henckels I got from my grandfather.

  38. My son is the knife collector in the family. I was sorting some old slides earlier this week and found a picture of him at his 9th birthday party where he received his first pocket knife. I sent him the photo and he said he still had it but would have to do some digging to find it after his last two moves.

  40. After looking at these photos, I think I'll buy some 3M vinyl wrap in carbon fiber black and make another holster. I think that would look better than gaffer's tape.
    1 point
  41. Assuming the gun fits properly in the holster you're done, you can now add the photographer's tape... also known as gaffer's tape. It's used to tape photographic lights to tripods or furniture WITHOUT leaving residue. This holster will look AWFUL if you use duct tape because the glue residue begins to show at all the seams and it will pick up lint. You can buy gaffer's tape on Amazon for about $18. In the photo below, I made two mistakes. I tore the tape instead of cutting it, which left a more noticeable line. That piece on the barrel end of the holster should have been underneath so I would have been invisible instead of on top. EDITED TO ADD: I think I'll use 3M carbon fiber vinyl wrap next time. It should look more professional. Here is the end result. Notice how I trimmed the plastic so it does NOT cover the mag release button. I've done it with the mag release covered and pressure against the holster can cause the mag button to release. Only 0.7 ounces! Very hard to see. Note that these are tight fitting pants and I'm a small guy. It would be invisible in baggy pants.

  42. Next, roll two or three little cylinders of plastic to add a "hook" under the barrel. These hooks will keep the holster at the proper cant and prevent the holster from coming out when you draw. Put some tape on it to hold it together. Tape it to the lower part of the holster. Add a second cylinder under the first one. IMPORTANT: Big guys or big pockets might require a 3rd "hook" to hold the gun in the pocket. Put the gun in the holster and try it in your pocket. Adjust the hooks until the holster will absolutely not come out while drawing. Front the top, it will look like this. Note that the "hook" curves in and the hooks are smaller than the holster. This prevents the edge of the holster from printing. You'll see what a great job it does at the end.
