Reviving an old thread. We have an employee that just hit 25 years with us. We wanted to get him something he would not buy for himself. He and my brother have played in bands together off and on for probably 30+ years just as a hobby. We consulted with Gibson on some technical work years ago. My brother became friends with a lot of the guys at Gibson in the custom shop. He got them to help him pick out this gift. The custom shop puts out very limited runs of some of their classic models. The employees favorite guitar has always been a classic SG. So the guys in the custom shop helped my brother pick out this limited reintroduction of a classic red '64 SG Gibson.6 points

My wife's cousin from FL posted this on her FaceBook page, best my wife could find it was from a Fox posting and Snopes says it's true. Wasn't sure if I should post in General or Humor thread. "You kill a policeman it means no arrest...no Miranda rights...no negotiations...nothing but as many bullets as we can shoot into you...period." said Polk County Florida Sheriff, Grady Judd An illegal immigrant, in Polk County, Florida, who got pulled over in a routine traffic stop and ended up "executing" the deputy, who stopped him. The deputy was shot eight times, including once behind his right ear at close range. Another deputy was wounded and a police dog killed. The murderer was later found hiding in a wooded area. As soon as he took a shot at the SWAT team, officers opened fire. They hit the guy 68 times. Naturally, the liberal media went nuts and asked why they had to shoot the poor, undocumented immigrant 68 times. Sheriff Grady Judd told the Orlando Sentinel: "Because that's all the ammunition we had." Now, is that just about the all-time greatest answer or what! The Coroner also reported that the man died of natural causes. When asked by a reporter how that could be, since there were 68 bullet wounds in his body, he simply replied: (BEST QUOTE ever) .. .. "When you are shot 68 times, you are naturally gonna die." "Welcome to Florida, Y'all."3 points

Scum got what he deserved. What I find interesting is that the BG was hit 68 times. But reportedly, the officers fired 110 rounds. You'd think SWAT would have done better.2 points

I would probably keep the new one. I like them both but I didn’t serve so I figure the used one would mean more to someone else.2 points

Just wondering if any of you all own one of these wonderful dogs? I am a vessel Rep for BP and the HSE guy who use to work for me has been a Cane Corso breeder for the last 27 years, anyway I gave him the rotation he requested and he gifted me a pick of the litter reverse brindle Female, my wife was absolutely against me getting her but when the transport that delivered her to me from Louisiana came, I immediately put her on my wife’s lap, 20 minutes later they were best friends. We have had and still do have several other breeds of dogs, but by far after having this girl for 3 weeks they are my favorite breed1 point

My squad leader in 'Nam, Kenneth E. Stumpf, a Medal of Honor recipient, has final stage pancreatic cancer. His son called me, said the dr. gave him 2 weeks. After I was severely wounded, he came in and got me out under fire, along with 2 other guys. I probably would have bled out if not for that. Hell of a guy & soldier. Heavy heart. He will be missed by all that knew him.1 point

I think the hardest part is the wait. I'm at 364 days on my first suppressor as of today, but that was a paper submission. I've been seeing e-form submissions come back in less than 10 days sometimes, which prompted me to buy another suppressor today using e-forms and race them to see which one gets approved first. Patience is a virtue I guess? lol1 point

Thank you. I’m reaching a selling stopping point with almost all SBRs remaining. Haven’t really decided if I want to unload any pistols (all Glocks, CZ, and one Five Seven with more $ sunk into it than the gun cost), but this forum will be the first to know.1 point

Sorry I didn’t respond earlier brother, been busy with work. I like your pistol man but I’ve got my heart set on a 4.5” xdm. Thank you for your time though.!1 point

Yea but, is it reloadeable? If not then that sucks for us wanting to stay with military calibers. But, I would guess that there will be plenty 5.56 surplus.1 point

About damned time! I never did like the M-16 or the 5.56 cartridge. Sig makes excellent firearms. I'm glad they got the contract. I think I heard ( correct me if I'm wrong) that these weapons will be built in the U.S. Good for our economy as well. My understanding is that the 6.8 cartridge is on par with the .270 Winchester. A classic hunting cartridge capable of taking most any game in North America. It should serve our troops well.1 point

The big problem as I see it is that no one wants to define what volume of sales constitutes a "business". It is stated clearly he can sell one. Can he sell 2? 5? 10?1 point

So if you actually go back and read the comments from the ATF, they double down several times that nothing prohibits private individuals from making firearms "for self defense and all legal purposes". The restrictions only extend to manufacturers. Print your stuff as much as you want, mill your 80s all day long. As long as you aren't doing it for pecuniary gain, and you are already legally able to possess a firearm, you can keep making them. It's also important to note that with the exception of NFA item (SBRs, SBSs, AOWs, Noise Reduction Devices, etc...) there is no inherent necessity to mark what you make either. I would still recommend doing so because it makes it easier to recover anything you lose in a theft, but at the end of the day if law abiding James T Gunowner of Backwater, TN wanted to make an AR from an 80% kit then he could certainly do so legally. Actually, if he got tired of that AR after a while and wanted to sell it to his cousin Bobby Jo Gunowner because he needed to make room for something new he could do that too. The problem pops up when James T Gunowner decides he wants to start selling his end product in order to make ends meet, without obtaining an FFL. Basically the new restrictions only target manufacturers. It's certainly still infringement in my mind because it attacks the industry that supports the 2nd Amendment, which is indirectly an attack on the 2nd Amendment. Anyway, just my two cents on the matter. I'm not an attorney nor a judge so my interpretation likely means jack diddly. But that's a whole different problem in itself because if the law (or "ruling" in this case) is written in a manner that the average citizen can't easily understand it, then it's a garbage law ("ruling") and there should be a legal defense against poorly written laws.1 point

I just picked this knife up at the post office this morning. Let's just say I am blown away. The knife and the sheaf are truly works of art by wonderful craftsman. It will go on a display on the wall. Thankfully I have a bunch of GTs knives I can use for everyday stuff.1 point

I joined up here hoping to offload just enough stuff to convince the wife to stay with me but I find myself so anxious about screwing up that I cannot bring myself to post anything for sale….well, that and I can’t bear the thought of parting with any of it.1 point

Sig Cross in 6.5 Creedmoor, 18"barrel, 5rd mag, box and manual. I have put 55rds through this gun (i wrote it down so that isn't just a number pulled outta no where) 5rds to zero at 100yds, 15rds at 800yds, then 35 on another day at 100yds. I like shooting long range and honestly this gun is just to light for me, I like a heavier gun. This would make an excellent hunting rifle. I don't need any trades I already bought what I needed. The scope is NOT included. And the price is firm, as these are $1600+ new +tax etc etc... Call or text 865-223-3028 $13001 point

Hey there fellers. I’ve had two metal detectors for about 5 years now that I bought for the kids and I don’t think they ever touched them again, despite both of them each finding a silver dollar in our back yard! Yes, it’s really the truth…I should know since I’m the one who ‘buried’ the suckers. Go figure. They’re currently buried under a bunch of crud in my garage but I can still see enough of them to tell you that they are bright yellow in color with a display that says “Ground EFX” (or possibly vice versa) in raised lettering just above the display. There are several grey buttons that run along the bottom of the display which I believe they’re used for kinda tuning it. I got them at a pawn shop but I can’t remember if I paid $5 for them or a couple hundred….but, knowing myself, I would place my bets towards the cheap end of the scale. Does this sound familiar to any of y’all…so far as recognizing them is concerned? I let a friend borrow one of the for a weekend that lasted 2 years and when he finally returned it he told me that he never got around to using it! Hahaha at least he brought it back I reckon, not that I’ve used it either though…but I’ve always wanted to, and still would if a decent opportunity were to present itself. I’d love to find some minie balls from a battle site or something neat like that. Gosh wouldn’t that be something! Heck, maybe I could give these to some of those folks mentioned by Mr. Freedom in the previous post - the ones who have the will but just not the way? Unless they’re just a couple of yellow turds, that is (my equipment, not the folks), because the last thing I’d ever want to do is make things harder for them when I’m trying to help….although I’ve been known to manage even that before!1 point

These are my first suppressors. I had a total of seven suppressors in jail. I purchased these at the end of August and they were approved in December. It took them an additional month to mail the stamps. Hopefully the other four will be here soon. I’m a little giddy right now. SiCo Osprey9, Dead Air Mask .22 and Surefire Socom SPS 3001 point

People I talked to prior to purchasing suppressors told me to forget about them after I mailed in my paperwork. I think that’s solid advice.1 point
