  4. Check the Dillon website: I have set up two tool heads for the 550 in 308 and 223, These tool heads allow measuring each charge with the 550 Dillon The parts fit into the die body for the powder measure. There is a powder funnel that allows you charge your case by hand. I have two 550's going right now. Both were used. These guys are telling you the truth about the 550's. Don't let those skinny chicks on the cover of the catalog run you off. Stay focused on the loading gear. Dillon also had good technical support. Their no BS warranty is also a winner. Bottom line is money spend on a Dillon will work out in your favor in the long run.

  5. 84 with fde stock and matte finish. Ducks Unlimited stamped with the box. Around 30 rounds fired. 3 deer taken in Wyoming, 155, 175 and 225yds. Likes the 130-140gr bullets. Rifle sighted in with Leupold vx111 HD 4-14x40 Duplex reticle with the cds dial calibrated for the 129 gr bullets $1250. Rifle sighted in with a Zeiss 4-12x40 with the Z8 reticle $1100. Bare rifle with 1" rings and box, $700. Love the rifle but the same rifle in 280 AI has stolen my heart. I have some loads worked up for it and some factory ammo also. This is a true lightweight rifle and a joy to carry. Possible trade interests are revolvers in 357, 44 special, 44 mag, levers in 357,44,375,308 444. AR in 308. Kimber/Tikka in 223, 22-250. Knoxville/Maryville area. For anyone with an interest i will be going to Columbia Tn once every 2 weeks for the next couple of months. Starting 7-9-22

  9. I saw that Powder Valley has some Retumbo listed, but by the time I clicked on the "add it to my cart" button it was gone, darn it. So I did a quick internet search and found it for sale at "normal" prices at a couple of sites. I'm pretty sure both are scams. One wants to be payed using Zelle, then email them a copy of the transfer and they will send the powder. Riggghhhht! The other just looked hinky to me. I guess with 8 pounds of powder running over $250 it's worth setting up a scam, but MAN I hate that! OK, vent completed.

  10. Dealers are: A: putting a high price on reloading supplies. B: holding reloading supplies in the back and limiting how much you can take. It sucks, but it is what it is. Pay $200 per lb/per 1k primers on gunbroker or pay 60% in house. I'm lucky enough to have what I need and most of what I want. At the moment, I want one more lb of Varget. I have enough to load 470 rounds now. I want to load 500 or my head will explode.

  12. I have an XDS .45. It has been very reliable with most ammo I 've tried (solid copper, not so much). My rule of thumb is to pick the caliber that lets the blood out fastest. While there are excellent 9mm loads that expand very reliably. There are .45 loads that expand much larger than that. And a .45 that doesn't expand is till a .45. While a 9mm that doesn't expand is only a .36. Neither is my choice for Grizzly. But, I'd rather have the .45 than be looking for a rock or stick!

  13. No, sorry. I'm not in desperate straights for powder.... yet.... and it appears that primers are tougher to find. Thanks, though!

  14. I like .40 pretty well and have shot a boatload of it through 2011s and polymer guns. However, I find the Glock 23 and 22 are quite uncomfortable to shoot, especially with factory ammo. The greater recoil seems to magnify all the ergonomic problems that I have with the Glock frame. Service pistols like the M&P for example are just about as easy to find in the $350 range and are far more comfortable to shoot for me.

  19. These are really nice guns. I got a DR920 a few weeks ago and love it. The fact that you can use Glock holsters was a huge plus. GLWS!

  26. Summary Members are now allowed to change their screen name once every 90 days and can do so as soon as Day-1 of their membership. You can find the option to do this in your Account Settings page. Explanation Members have always been able to change their screen names, but previously they had to have been a member for at least 90-Days or have made a certian number of posts before they could. This sounded great (to me) in theory but in practice it was also very short-sighted (of me). It is not rare for a new member to register for an account and then wish they had not used their real name for their screen name, or realized that they made a typographical error in their screen name. This change fixes that problem and allows folks one name change immediately, if they so desire, but also keeps it from being an unending game of "Who's Who?"

  28. for the love of 45acp I’ve spent some time on this. I go back to cmmg for radial blowback to meditate recoil and bcg weights for tuning with ability to run 45acp to heavy 45 super loads. Plus b&t ghm45 doesn’t have Glock mag option. Have 6.6” barrel pistols so never pulled trigger because it would be a toy; another at caliber would be choice for serious work. There is a non braced 1.2k cmmg option, add your own. If you’re considering for serious work consider a short barrel rifle caliber in ar because you can throw similar lead with less recoil, less gas in face and close ammo costs at todays price then a 45acp blowback. I wouldn’t make any decision based on August. If you’re a brace person buy a brace before then and add to whatever. Expecting a grandfather clause is silly these days. They’ll make felons out of people with the rule or expect build to adhere to tally sheet limiting options. Learn to cheek weld and forget the brace. don’t let my comments ruin your fun. sharing my conclusion on a serious want I’ve sidestepped for a while.

  29. My go to ar 15 is an 18". It's relatively easy to keep rounds on a human silhouette at 750-850. After that things get bad. I hold a 10" group at 750 with that gun if I want to be honest. At 1000, it twice that. If it's just a range toy without a suppressor, I'd do a 24. A 20" will get it done if you math the s÷$t out of the bullet. An 18" will if you get lucky. My 18" is really only for killing, so take it for what it is, but I did quite a bit of long range testing before it was relegated to this role. Fast twist, heavy for caliber, and big BC numbers are what you're after.

  32. I saw that this morning. Absolutely tragic. There is often a belief that a range or a gun store is a safe location from robbery. Sure, burglaries happen, but we tell ourselves that someone would be foolish to attack a gun store that has staff that is likely armed. I suspect that as a general rule, folks have just been quite lucky on that front up until now. Working at one of these places doesn’t make you safe, it makes you a target. There is absolutely a level of self selection with regards to the type of people that would make this type of play. The kind of robber that’s going to go after your local convenience store isn’t likely to try something like this and the numbers are that there are more of that type. I don’t see there being great numbers of people who would make this type of play, the problem is is that those who will are the hardasses. I think it’s pretty safe to say this was most likely not done by a lone gunman. This was a crew and in Georgia if they’re caught they’re all up for the death penalty. I hope these guys are caught quickly because I strongly suspect they’re not gonna stop here. They’ve already got capital murder charges most likely hanging over their head so there’s a good chance that more people could die before they’re done.
