I have for sale my CZ shadow 2 with 5 mags and holster for range work. The gun was bought new by me. The gun has ALL Cajun Gun Works INTERNALS…hammer, firing pin, springs, sear, barrel bushing. Also VZ GRIPS. That gives the gun a 2 1/2 pound single action and super smooth 4 1/2 pound double action. I have the original box and all paper work along with ALL factory original parts. Round count is around 700 rds. and gun is in great shape cosmetically and mechanically. No exterior wear and very little internal wear. Asking $1300 If you have questions or would like more Pics 615 414-15…three….four5 points

I also believe this to be the case. I read a comment thread on a popular AR building discussion board regarding the original poster seeing a table at a gun show where a non licensed (no FFL) seller had a table full of completed weapons built on completed 80% lowers. When he was asked about it he claimed that it was perfectly legal for him to sell them despite the fact that he was clearly doing it as a for profit venture. This was followed by multiple posters claiming they had seem similar sellers at gun shows in a number of areas. Several of the posters confirmed these accounts by claiming they were at the same show and saw the same sellers. If there were a handful of accounts of this happening out in the open at a gun show you can bet there is far more of it going on on the "street". I have been asked multiple times to complete 80% lowers and build complete weapons from them for individuals once they found out I had the machining capability to do it. Those inquiries normally came from people without knowledge of the laws regarding 80% receiver builds and usually sprouted from random conversations at the range. Usually off hand comments when checking out one of my builds along the lines of "so how much would you charge me to build one for me?". I am absolutely positive there are plenty of builders out there who would throw out a dollar figure in response rather than turn them down as I do.3 points

I skimmed it. One thing that stuck out is they are claiming over 45,000 "ghost guns" were recovered from crime scenes since 2016. That number seems awfully high. If we do take that number at face value, somebody has to be building guns on the black market without serial numbers and selling them on the street. There is no way there are that many John Does out there building guns in their garage and going out and committing crimes. I would also submit that if there are high volume manufacturers building guns for the black market, these new rules will do nothing to stop it. Other than that, the rest of it reads awfully confusing, and will require more time to weed though. Just skimming it, I get the feeling that they are fixing to try to regulate a whole lot more than the lower receiver on something like a AR. Talk about a nightmare if they do that.3 points

This sounds like a great one for folks to consider attending as the warmer months approach. Most folks put aside their full-size guns and start thinking about smaller carry options during the Spring and Summer. Probably a really good refresher for people who just want a structured way to knock the seasonal rust off of their skills and get tuned up!3 points

Would have been nice to ride but I was knee deep in a hole with shovel and an axe chopping roots and planting trees. Well after mowing the yard and tilling a new bed that is. To much rain this month to not spend a nice day working outside.3 points

I saw that this morning. Absolutely tragic. There is often a belief that a range or a gun store is a safe location from robbery. Sure, burglaries happen, but we tell ourselves that someone would be foolish to attack a gun store that has staff that is likely armed. I suspect that as a general rule, folks have just been quite lucky on that front up until now. Working at one of these places doesn’t make you safe, it makes you a target. There is absolutely a level of self selection with regards to the type of people that would make this type of play. The kind of robber that’s going to go after your local convenience store isn’t likely to try something like this and the numbers are that there are more of that type. I don’t see there being great numbers of people who would make this type of play, the problem is is that those who will are the hardasses. I think it’s pretty safe to say this was most likely not done by a lone gunman. This was a crew and in Georgia if they’re caught they’re all up for the death penalty. I hope these guys are caught quickly because I strongly suspect they’re not gonna stop here. They’ve already got capital murder charges most likely hanging over their head so there’s a good chance that more people could die before they’re done.3 points

Time to thin out the herd. Now discontinued Gen 1 Galil Ace in 5.45x39. This version has the FSB and rear sight that does not come on the Gen2 variants. I've got less than 200 rounds through this and it's been painted with Aervoe camo which can be easily stripped if desired. Comes with the next to impossible to find RS Regulate rail, two mags, and I have a LaRue LT660HK mount that I'll toss in to use with Aimpoint micro or similar platforms. I do have commercial and 7n6 available to any prospective buyer at additional cost. Looking for $2500 locally in the greater Nashville area. Would consider partial trade for Glock45 or 19x.2 points

This is correct, you do not want ANY OPEN SPACE inside the case with Black powder. If you want to down load just fill the space with a grease cookie.2 points

An important part of the snubby equation that newbs need to be aware of is 2 or 2.5 " barrel vs 3. Both my j frame guns wear 3" barrels simply due to the fact making a clean relatively fast ejection comes with the 3" barrel ejection rod. Not so much on a snub's short stroke ejection rod. Alot of folks that buy a snub nose go to smiths and want to know why they have to finger pick out the 38 casings half the time. My long nose snubs Rossi 88, Taurus 941, Taurus 94 w/ 9rd mag cylinder2 points

@ Chuck - Agreed on all counts. Tragic. Reminds me of what happened at Harry Beckwith's gun shop in Florida in 1990. Wish the situation in Georgia had played out more along those lines.2 points

Hey y'all. I used to be a member back in the 2015ish years. I moved away for a few years and got a new email and now that I am back in TN I am back here in this fantastic community. I enjoy firearms of all kinds however my favorite to mess around with have to be pistols fitted with a stabilizing brace. I have owned a bunch of guns over the years and sold most of them but I still have managed to hang on to a dozen or so. Currently my CCW is a Walther Q4 Tac with a vortex venom and I love it. Hopefully I can contribute to the knowledge of the community and I look forward to learning from you as well.1 point

Yep. His gun store was robbed one night by a gang of seven guys in two stolen cars. Beckwith, whose home was next door to the store, had a legal S&W 76 9mm subgun and a full-auto AR and fired 105 rounds against the gang, who tried to run him down with the cars. One car was disabled by Beckwith's gunfire and the other car escaped but was found later with the driver dead from a .223 round. This incident happened around 1990; Massad Ayoob wrote an article about it, perhaps in American Handgunner.1 point

All good advice. Grew up with a Lee single kit for my 30 30 and 20 gauge. I was at first sceptical about using a hammer to remove primers and size. Went a long ways in reloading since them.1 point

Couple of cents worth from an old geezer .......... I, for one, truly appreciate the efforts of Worriedman and others like him. Without such efforts, there would be NO Carry Permits nor Civil Immunity in our state. We do not gain anything, nor do we protect our Constitutional Rights by sitting on our butts and remaining silent while hoping that someone else will get the job done! It just does not work that way!! We each have our individual beliefs, our own personal views, and our own priorities on which we focus and to which we devote our time. Want to make a difference? Then do nothing. Want to try to make a POSITIVE difference, then do SOMETHING!!! I admire a man who actively stands up for what he believes ...... even if I personally think he is dead wrong. Off the ole soapbox now.1 point

Range Report: First Outing I was able to make it to the range today after work and get in a few shots. My initial impressions of the gun are very favorable, especially for my intended purpose of having something smaller and lighter weight than my Glock 19 or Sig P320 XCompact for more discrete carry. I do want and need more range-time with it, though. Feel and Handling I ran the gun with the Wilson Combat grip module installed. Since returning home, I have put the factory laser-stippled Sig Sauer grip module back on it. While the Wilson grip feels like it fills the hand more, I feel like I get a better actual grip with the Sig module. Go figure. Running 124gr 9mm FMJ Fiocchi ammo, the gun is plenty snappy. Compensators are not muzzle brakes. They do little or nothing to mitigate the recoil of the gun. They do combat muzzle climb, but that doesn't translate to feel. It translates to a gun that "shoots flatter" which means you reacquire your sight picture on target faster. People need to understand this and keep it in mind when they shoot compensated handguns. It doesn't change what most people describe as "FEEL". This is still a smaller gun and you are still going to feel it pressing into the bony heel of your dominant hand when you shoot it. It is not as comfortable as shooting a larger gun with a larger grip that spreads the shock across a larger surface area in your hand. Period. That said, I did not find it to be uncomfortable to shoot and I put about 100 rounds through it within a pretty short period of time. Handling of the gun was certainly better than that of my plain Jane P365. Muzzle flip was controllable which made the optic's dot easy to track between shots and quicker to return to target. I found this to be even more striking as I ran the gun faster and faster. It shot flat enough that running it fast wasn't a problem at all. Overall Function I ran 100rds through it within a 30-minute span of time. I did not clean or lube it ahead of my range session. It was only lubed with whatever Sig put on it at the factory. I had ZERO malfunctions. It fed, fired and ejected flawlessly. Spent brass landed reliably within the same general area, so I am confident that it wasn't throwing brass willy-nilly all over the place. Accuracy was excellent. I did have to adjust the way I grasped the gun, however. The grouping for my first few magazines was pretty ugly. It dawned on me that I had some slop in how my support hand was grasping the grip, so I tweaked that a little and got excellent accuracy as a result. To be honest... this showed me that I probably have been incorporating the same amount of slop in my grip on my P320 and could likely make it run better by indexing my support hand the same way. I plan to give it a try. Hell, I am almost 30-years into my study of the handgun and I love that I can still learn to do things better. Anyway... when I did my part, the gun did its. 1-inch groups at 7-yards are pretty easy. This is what I expect from a Sig. It did not disappoint. Target Porn I probably need a better term for this, but here are some targets worth looking at and talking about. These targets are printed on 8.5 x 11 copier paper. The circles are 5-inches in diameter with a 1-inch dark center. The last target is from Sage Dynamics and is basically a central nervous system (CNS) brain and brain stem target. Each target was shot from a distance of 7-yards with 124gr Fiocchi 9mm FMJ. I feel good enough about these to carry the gun. Target #1: This target was the first one after getting the dot dialed in. This is a 6-round group shot at a slow and deliberate pace to confirm zero of the optic. Target #2: Moving right along, I shot the target on the other half of the paper with 10-rounds at a reasonably brisk pace to "learn the bounce" of the dot in the optic as it tracked between shots. I did not take a shot timer but I'd say that this grouping took between 4-6 seconds, just guessing at the pace. Target #3: After a few more targets like the previous one, shot at a brisk pace and getting to know how the gun tracked, I wrapped up the session with something a little faster. This is 24-rounds, total. Two 12-round mags, with a mag change in between them, at a fast pace. The strings of shots were quick. The mag change was NOT graceful. I need to spend more time in my dry-fire sessions with this gun just changing mags. The short grip and short mags require some gymnastics to reposition my dominant hand just right to allow the empty mag to cleanly drop free. I'd guess that this took about 16-17 seconds just by timing myself here in the house with an empty gun. I feel like I should want that to be faster. Conclusion Very nice gun. Small. Light. Slim. Carries easily. Love the 6MOA Holosun green dot. It tracks easily. The comp is noticeable but won't blow your socks off. I need to work on my mag changes. Small grip, small mags, Shrek fingers. Not fast. It's a keeper. I'll be carrying it often.1 point

A 4" 38 is just a cool gun. It's hard to justify that size gun for EDC or even open carry with the availability/capacity/reliability/weight/size/ballistics of modern automatics. There is one use for the wheelguns that I think is often overlooked: exotic ammo delivery platform. ...and not just snake shot. Take feeding issues out of the equation and it makes a few newer rounds more viable and more interesting. The examples that comes to mind specifically are the Leigh Defense xtreme penetrator or xtreme defense because they push the limit with modern ammo technology. I normally stick with the more traditional bullet designs for ammo HST, Ranger, Gold Dot, XTP, Corbon etc., but the Lehigh stuff, scratches some weird steampunk sci-fi itch, especially in a wheelgun. I really like rounds loaded with the xtreme defense projectiles for my 442. This one's different because the traditional, "reliable expansion" doesn't need to be achieved to be effective. Another thing to note with these projectiles is that reputable ammo companies are developing loads with these. http://www.black-hills.com/shop/honeybadger/38-special-honeybadgerp/ https://www.underwoodammo.com/38-special-p-100-grain-xtreme-defender.html1 point

Favorite Handgun: Depends on what day of the week it is. Yesterday if was my 1985 vintage Mark II Target that is still going strong at a zillion or so rounds. The other on 8/4/21 was my Clark modified K38. Shot both guns at our informal match yesterday. The other two were a 6" 586 no dash and my EDC G23.4. All those guns were in my gear yesterday.1 point
