Sunday morning I woke up and went to the range for the monthly 600 yard match. When it was over, I came home and got the bike and rode before going to work for the night. Was an amazing day all around. I really missed my bike.4 points

Funny how much they help and how much they mean to us. I’ve never cared what anybody rides as long as they ride. “Sittin’ on two’s” as someone put it.3 points

Tony at Strategic Edge recommended Echo 3 Armory in Chapel Hill & over the years I've come to the conclusion that if he tells me something, I probably shouldn't argue. I'm taking it up there tomorrow for a good, hard, throating. $200(+/-) & a 6 week turnaround. I can live with that!2 points

Nah, Para Ordinance was bought out by Remington some years ago and killed off. But there are still plenty of them out there. I have one and I'll tell ya, without a mag loading tool, you ain't gonna get 14 rounds in that mag by hand. However, there are several companies making what are commonly referred to as 2011 Models. That is double stack, high capacity 1911s. Many of them use modular type frames with a steel upper section and a poly grip. Here's my Para Ordinance SF-45-A. These were custom, limited edition pistols offered only to active duty combat troops stationed in the sand box during 2009-10. My younger son was in Iraq at the time. He ordered two and gave me one of them .2 points

Please PM me for the pick up location. Thanks1 point

That would be an interesting legal angle. If you can't define something as simple as a woman, how can you define something more complex?1 point

get a pistol grip, better ergonomics, while I don't have a M4, I do have a spas and it's similar.1 point

I've been wanting a Medford for awhile, so I purchased this one from Blade HQ. They offered an engraving option so I chose this message. I like it but it's going to need broken in the liner lock is stiff, blade action is smooth and opens really smooth. So here's the pics. Not sure why the picture showed up not turned right, I switched them in my settings.1 point

Thanks all for sort of confirming my thoughts on a Judge or similar 410 revolver. One revolver I’ve always wanted (but don’t really need so I’ll stick with WANT), is a stainless model 60 in 357 although I’d almost exclusively shoot 38’s in it. I think that may really fit the bill here. Thanks all!1 point
-
I have and love my Rugers, and agree on the Judge but like the thought of a 410 rather than 38 snake shot.1 point

I agree with everything in that post. Furthermore, if the Government cannot define a "woman" I have no confidence in their nuanced definition of a machine gun.1 point

I took a two night course and I also learned a lot. When others ask me about getting the online HCP, I always encourage them to go take the class for the enhanced permit. I felt it was extremely helpful! Of course, we had a added luxury. We had a retiring Deputy. Knox County tells their retiring officers to just go through the permith class. Apparently, it's a PITA to go though channels and get a retired officer's permit or whatever it's called. Anyway we had the benefit of this officer's experience. He and the instructor made it very informative. It was a great experience.1 point

Wish you were closer to Nashville I'd have to get it. Nice looking Smith&Wesson.1 point

Thanks AJ but it wasn’t quite THAT simple. Back Up Gun is one of the more difficult guns to run at speed especially when there are a lot of tight shots on moving targets and on targets surrounded by non threats. plus that whole 6 round capacity adds an extra reload on just about every stage. That short sight radius also magnifies every tiny little mistake and a small misalignment of the sights equals a big misalignment on the target past 10 yards. I am really fortunate to do as well as I did in the first major match I have shot since 2019.I have to think Mike Fielden and Ronnie Dodd are looking down and smiling.1 point

^^ This ^^ I bought a Hex receiver 1934 Tula 91/30 and an M44 in 2013 just before the prices started going nuts. In the $100-150 range and a couple of spam cans of milsurp ammo when that was cheap too, they're fun plinkers, but for the $400+ range we see now, no way. As a WW2/historic collectible, that's different, but as a shooter, the current price doesn't match the experience.1 point
-
In my opinion, they were sort of a neat novelty when they were sub $100 and ammo was cheap. I don't have any use for one given today's prices of both rifles and ammo. I can buy a much nicer rifle for less money.1 point
