I think I got a pretty fair deal on this one in 25-36M (25-35 Win). The guy wanted 1K, I offered 8 and met in the middle at 900. The bore looks shootable but has fine pitting all threw it with the lands being on the some what shinny side. I have over 300 fired 30-30 brass so I'm looking to resize some into 25-35. Anyone here done that? It has original sights and the screw slots are only slightly worked. Now its the mate to my 1893 30-30 take down. Just can't put my finger on out of all the rifles out there, a nice original shape 1893 calls to me. Pick one up off a table and my brain turns to jelly with wants.....just crazy.....Must have spent alot of time with one in my hands in a past life!6 points

Actually, most of it was over the fact that I'd brought a pretty much brand new gun to the class. And admitted it. lol. I'd probably shot about 200 rounds or less with it, so some of the comments were well deserved. Well...he did use me as the class whipping boy. lol. Since we knew each other a bit, I got to experience the "correct vs incorrect" ways of doing things for the class. I was the demo guy. At least the demo dummy for that class. It was fun though. I brought up all those questions everyone wanted to ask, or should ask, but were afraid to. So I was always up front and being shown as the person being attacked and then showing all the reactions Buford wanted for the class. I didn't mind. I learned more than I thought I would that weekend. Actually did a 2 day course. About 6 hours of classroom, then on to the range for drills and then qualification shooting.2 points

Nah, Para Ordinance was bought out by Remington some years ago and killed off. But there are still plenty of them out there. I have one and I'll tell ya, without a mag loading tool, you ain't gonna get 14 rounds in that mag by hand. However, there are several companies making what are commonly referred to as 2011 Models. That is double stack, high capacity 1911s. Many of them use modular type frames with a steel upper section and a poly grip. Here's my Para Ordinance SF-45-A. These were custom, limited edition pistols offered only to active duty combat troops stationed in the sand box during 2009-10. My younger son was in Iraq at the time. He ordered two and gave me one of them .1 point

Rifle is in perfect condition and has a killer trigger!!!! I bought it and have hardly used it. The scope is like a $200 Bushnell which works great and it is mounted on a 1 piece DNZ scope mount, rock solid. I have one box of brand new Hornady Superformance ammo to go with it. I have more ammo plus reloading supplies if required, dies, brass, bullets etc.1 point

Based on some quick research, it appears to be a Gen 2. It has the keymod handguard, is marked multical, and the magazines all have the FDE follower. The muzzle does look pinned; I've never had the handguard off.1 point

If you can shoot the requirements at 600yds in the competition, you bypass the 200 and 300yd qualification requirement. If nothing else, it's a time saver.1 point

First off...I love the 1911 platform. Secondly, I'm not the most ardent in cleaning and lubing my guns. I do get lax with it at times. But I have been taught, and re-taught from personal experience that a 1911 must be 1...kept well lubed, and 2 realistically clean. Doesn't have to be spotless, but clean. My biggest problem is lubing, I admit it. But the 1911 likes "wet" not dry. It doesn't have to be dripping, but if you can pick it up and get an oily feel on your hands...the odds are you are keeping it properly. Some will run with less lube, some with more. You have to find which way yours prefers. JMO1 point

I have a Judge that I find to be rather useless. I have never had a good reason to shoot a snake, but I have a rat problem in an outbuilding (all the more reason not to shoot snakes). I've killed a bunch of rats with the Judge, but it has an effective range on rats of about 4 feet using .410. make sure your are wearing eye protection at those distances, I caught some shot ricocheting to my face last week. I find the grouping using the 45LC out of the Judge to be less than impressive.1 point

I put some miles on it today. It is windy, but still very nice. I got over 48mpg on the last tank of gas. That’s pretty cool! I’m sure hoping to wear out a set of tires this year.1 point

It is something that may superficially appear to be a duck, but does not meet the statutory definition of a duck. Allowing unelected bureaucrats to change and reinterpret the law to suit their whims does not result in more freedom for anyone. It was a bad precedent set with the bumpstock ban and exactly what those of us who decried it at the time warned everyone about. This is incremental groundwork that’s being laid that can eventually allow for the reclassification of modern semiauto rifles as machine guns. The ATF is going to keep pushing as far as they can unless they are stopped.1 point

The failure of the .38 Colt against the Moro tribesmen prompted the Army to reassess their current sidearms and look for something better. The 1911 was developed as a Cavalry sidearm. The idea was to duplicate the .45 Colt revolver cartridge in a semi-auto pistol. The criteria was it should be able to kill a horse at 100 yards.1 point

I carry a 38 spl and 357 most times. If I IWB carry it is an MP 9MM C 2.0. My primary is a 2" 357, 7 shot revolver. Most shootings are 3 rounds or less, if average. Have no problem feeling I am not prepared if forced into a confrontation. When I am on my daughters horse farm, located in Eagleville TN, I carry the 38 with snake shot. I am doing a lot of woods and brush removal right now. Glad snakes are, for the most part, asleep. Got a Hunt X hunting ape on my phone and it is great for finding property lines in wooded areas. We are marking and cutting horse trails on 90 acers. Just finished marking 61 acers yesterday and still have 28 acers left to mark. It is very thick with underbrush and trees. Want to get it marked before snakes come out. I always take snake medicine (38 Spl) with me even now. Just never know. The 38 Spl has been doing self defense duty, mostly successfully, for years. I have learned it isn't the arrow, as much as it is the Indian, that brings a satisfactory conclusion to deadly threats. One must be able to put them where they need to be for a satisfactory conclusion. At soon to be 74 (2 weeks) my want to ability is slowly waning. I am needing to practice more and more, but pray often I will never be forced to call on my waning skills. My mother used a pre model, SW model 10 4" 38Spl revolver, when I was 4(1952), that had a lifelong effect on my life. You younger "whipper snappers", enjoy your youthful abilities. Agent Orange, and age has had a detrimental effect on my later years, however I have found "Jesus Christ" so I got the dying taken care of. Listen up guys! IMO, it ain't bull hocky. Peace with death in life, belief in Jesus Christ is the answer. Bible says He is the only way, and "I believe it."1 point
