In my opinion, they were sort of a neat novelty when they were sub $100 and ammo was cheap. I don't have any use for one given today's prices of both rifles and ammo. I can buy a much nicer rifle for less money.4 points

This is for 5lbs of Accurate 1680, I bought 10lbs of this a few years ago, and in those few years of reloading 300blk either sub or supers, I have only used 2lbs. so I am going to let this go for $25 each if sold individually or $20 each if all is taken at one time. Knoxville area2 points

It’s against the law to kill any snake native to TN. Unless you pull the ole “it’s coming right for me”. Most are harmless and want to be left alone. don’t get fancy posting your trophy on social media1 point

I just throw 3 snake shot loads into my EDC, Taurus Mdl 617 7 shot snub revolver and go. Been marking horse trails in dense brush/woods (90 acers) (daughters horse farm) the past 2 weeks. Got them cleared last week. Daughter is riding them today with several friends. This combination has served me well. I have killed snakes, with this set up before, but you must be close (10 feet or so). By the way I walked over 65 acers and never saw one snake, but I know they are out on warm days but moving slow. Saw a picture of a 3' black snake, on my neighbor's carport, last week. Edited to add; 38 Spl CCI snake shot loads.1 point

Check out the Lyman cast bullet manual. I use it extensively for determining cast bullet loads, including in .308. I really enjoy shooting the 113 g Lee "Soup Can" bullets as plinkers at short range. Virtually no recoil and a very light report, but I wouldn't use them for hunting. There's another website, https://castboolits.gunloads.com/, with tons of information from some serious "boolit" casters.1 point

This made me giggle a little, and I’m not sure why. Glad I looked at this ad by happenstance.1 point

Maybe it’s like an old VW “automatic” that was a stick shift but didn’t have a clutch pedal. I honestly don’t know but here is the manual that kinda describes the “speed pump” system. https://www.winchesterguns.com/content/dam/winchester-repeating-arms/support/owners-manuals/model1300-manual-om-s.pdf1 point

I put some miles on it today. It is windy, but still very nice. I got over 48mpg on the last tank of gas. That’s pretty cool! I’m sure hoping to wear out a set of tires this year.1 point

Neat that you could buy Marlin rifles from the Sears catalog, how times have changed, now there is no Sears.1 point

I had never heard of this trigger before I saw it in this thread. I found a few YouTube videos of the trigger in action, and have to say if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck.....1 point

You forgot the many months wait for the privilege of putting a stock on something. This actually annoys me more than paying for the tax stamp.1 point

I'm not advocating that anyone engage in an illegal activity, but like most things in life - if the BATF writes an opinion that these are illegal - this is probably going to become one of those situations where it's only a crime when you're caught with it and civil disobedience until that happens. Just like the folks who put stocks on AR pistols without paying a tax stamp or the second or third generation owner of a fully automatic "bring back" from various overseas conflicts. Literally nothing stops them from doing it except for the threat of being caught. The curse of the modern era is social media. Ponder that for a bit. To clarify: I'm one of those schmucks who writes the government a fat check so that he can put a stock on something that other people just put stocks on tax-free.1 point

These are cool little pistols that have similar controls to a 1911. They are fun to shoot and surprisingly accurate for a smaller pistol. Also, since the bore-axis is so low the recoil is lighter than one might expect. They have exposed hammer and manual safeties just like a 1911. So the standard carry method is "cocked and locked". It comes with 2 magazines. 1 Flush fit that holds 10 rounds and 1 slightly extended that holds 12 rounds. Front and rear slide serrations. Cocking "ears" on the rear of the slide. This one is in excellent condition, bought NIB just a couple of months ago as an impulse buy. After taking it to the range 2 times we just realized that we are more comfortable with striker fired guns without manual safeties as carry guns. But there might be a few 1911 fans out there that want a smaller lighter carry option with 12+1 ammo capacity. $575 FTF in or near Murfreesboro1 point
