If you don't like .40 cal or Glocks then don't come around my house. I love both and have a vast collection. But I also like all calibers and anything that shoots and goes boom. LOL.. The G22 is a great pistol. I have heard all the arguments about 9mm vs .40 vs .45. At the end of the day, I don't want to be shot with any caliber including .22lr from my wife's pistol because all 15 rounds will be in the size of a half dollar.5 points

Just wondering if any of you all own one of these wonderful dogs? I am a vessel Rep for BP and the HSE guy who use to work for me has been a Cane Corso breeder for the last 27 years, anyway I gave him the rotation he requested and he gifted me a pick of the litter reverse brindle Female, my wife was absolutely against me getting her but when the transport that delivered her to me from Louisiana came, I immediately put her on my wife’s lap, 20 minutes later they were best friends. We have had and still do have several other breeds of dogs, but by far after having this girl for 3 weeks they are my favorite breed3 points

I’m an 870 armorer if I can help with anything. There are some concerns with thin barrel when you chop one, and because of timing concerns it’s not practical to do a barrel swap. I don’t know that I would ever bother to chop an old 870. I would buy a $500 Tac 14 as a base for your SBS.2 points

In my normal site and promotional email browsing for ammo prices I've been seeing 40 s&w coming in at comparable prices with 9mm depending on the brand, bullet, steel cased vs brass etc. Usually the 40 I'm seeing for sale lately is made from better components when factoring in the cost per round. Yes I know this is due to demand/supply chain/politics/trends and will change in the future but it's been like this since 2020 and still now in 2022. When 9mm was $7/box for brass cased fmj, I was 9mm all day but things are always subject to change. The unpopular opinion I'm starting to think the surplus Glock 22 might be the best all around value for a workhorse pistol right now, coming in at $349. Especially if the person buying is planning on using it as a defensive piece. Examples: https://aimsurplus.com/leo-trade-in-glock-22-gen-3-40s-w-handgun/ https://aimsurplus.com/leo-trade-in-glock-22-gen-4-40s-w-handgun/ https://aimsurplus.com/glock-model-22-15rd-40cal-magazine-used/ Ammo: https://www.targetsportsusa.com/40-sw-ammo-c-59.aspx Reasoning For starters, I just like guns, so I don't really have a caliber preference. I own and shoot a variety. If I can hit with it and I have ammo for it, awesome. If the argument against the 40 is recoil, I'd venture to say my G22 kicks less than my P365 (neither of which I find an issue). Full size helps eat that snappiness up. The gun The G22, while it has fallen out of popularity in recent years, used to be a reference standard duty gun. It's a proven design. The surplus piece might come with night sights that still have some life and it has a rail to mount a light. It's crazy to me seeing them valued at around the same price as a M91/30 Mosin rifle in the current market. I remember when the G22 was $600 and the Mosin was $60. The ammo I've noticed that decent JHP rounds for 40 s&w run about the same price as range ammo in 9mm when the panic buying sets in (2012, potential assault weapons bans, pandemic, I'm sure there will be something else in the future). If it costs the about same to buy brass cased JHP in 40 as it does to buy syntec or steel cased 9mm, I'm going to go with the 40. If/when pricing changes and 9mm becomes close to where it was pre 2020, convert the thing (or put it in the safe and shoot your other 9mm guns). - https://aimsurplus.com/aimsurplus-ss-9mm-conversion-barrel-for-glock-22/ For the gun guy With the newer ammo technology, and I'd speculate with a bit of renewed popularity of the 10mm, there are some 40 rounds that might make this budget blaster a fun range trip and a different defensive piece than years past (just like the 9mm tech advanced). Some of the 40 stuff from Underwood, Double Tap, Buffalo Bore has some zap to it and it's fun to shoot. Examples: https://www.underwoodammo.com/40-s-w-165-grain-bonded-jacketed-hollow-point.html - Muzzle Velocity (fps) : 1,200 https://www.underwoodammo.com/40-s-w-135-grain-jacketed-hollow-point.html - Muzzle Velocity (fps) : 1,4001 point

I have a real nice looking M44 Mosin Nagant 7.62x54R I’ve had since 2006 I’ve decided to sell to fund some other stuff I’ve bought.1944 Izhevsk all matching numbers except for the century arms stamp as seen in the picture. If someone is interested in buying it I would have to have a copy of their drivers license and info for my log book on my C&R license. Thanks Jeff1 point

I have a one (as you can probably guess by my avatar image). Gen 4 bought new in 2010. I like the pistol; I like the round. No problems, no complaints. I added a drop-in 9mm conversion barrel and some factory 9mm magazines. Helps when ammo supply is spotty.1 point

I shot one in a 17.5 and 34.5 in Carry Optics last year and I like them a lot. The reset initially didn't hit you in the mouth like most Glocks do, but the second spring they started shipping with it pretty much fixed that. I got them below 3 pounds with a Lone Wolf connector and some polish. The advantage of a Timney is it doesn't need a lighter striker spring to get a low pull weight, so light strikes aren't an issue like some Glocks with maxed out triggers. However, I ended up with a 5 lb striker spring because I was playing recoil spring games and the 5 lb striker spring aided lockup. Obviously, these were gamer guns.1 point

This is an interesting thread. I have owned a lot of pistols in a lot of calibers but have never owned a .40. My buddy I shoot with loves .40cal. Whether it be his Glocks or his VP9 I just do not like the recoil of the .40. I shoot a lot of magnum calibers so I am not recoil sensitive. I guess it is because the .40s are generally in smaller guns than the magnums I shoot so the recoil feels snappier. For whatever reason I have not found a .40 cal i like to shoot. What is even weirder is I love 10mm. I can't argue with the OPs reasoning. It is a solid argument. I just do not like .40s.1 point

The 4 inch compact is a great little gun. I have 3.6, 4, 4.25, and 5” M&Ps and the 4” compact is my favorite .1 point

It’s still a nice trigger and the reset seemed like a non issue when I was shooting it. Because the break is so nice I think Timney would have a real winner on there hands if they put a heavier return spring in that brought the pull up to about 4.5 lbs and gave it a stronger reset.1 point

It felt great to get out and ride a bit today. Have to go to a baseball game after while. I’d ride to it, but not sure my wife would like riding that far at night. Baby steps with her cause she still isn’t real sure about all this motorcycle business.1 point

I just added bike #6 to the stable. This one's a 2006 Ducati 999 with just 6000 miles on it. But it's been sitting for several years and needs a bunch of things done before it can be ridden. I'm looking forward to it, though.1 point

Anyone needing a 20" BMX Racing bicycle?? its a 2014 but still in great condition it has never been raced as I am over 50 and have owned it since new. Used it to ride with my son when he was younger. Well he has moved on and doesn't ride any longer so Its time for a new home. I will trade for Firearms or ammo (yes I have a HCP) or will sell for cash as well. Other trades may be considered as well just send pictures and details Trade value $500 Cash $400 Open to cash and trade offers.1 point

The Henry's have a tapped and threaded receiver all set for a base and rings-also ready for Skinner peeps- I would imagine the newer Marlin levers also are pre tapped-1 point

It's a legal system, not a justice system. You get all the justice you can afford. Sad but true. All the more motivation to not get into that mess to begin with.1 point

Also, bear in mind that if you chop down any shotgun, you'll be losing any choke. You'll essentially be creating a cylinder bore. Lots of places will thread & install removable chokes, but that'll add considerably to the cost. Double the barrels, double the cost. If you stick to a short barreled cylinder bore, you'll be effectively cutting down the usable range by an incredible amount. For purely HD work, not an issue, but for a fun gun, 20yds is going to frustrate you.1 point

Except it's not $93, it's more like $343 after paying the TN state sales tax on my out of state purchase, which they collect during the title process.1 point
-
I went through the same thing. We were told that we did not need a tag for TN but if we drove thru another state we could be ticketed for not having a plate. Without a plate or title we could not prove the origin of ownership so they would have a right to ticket us. The tag is a one time fee.1 point

Moving Sale! It understeers like a SOB and the deck could use a little bit of adjusting but it’ll cut weeds pretty good. Starts right up. Speeds 1.2 and 5 runs great. 3 and 4 it will kind of slip. It'll cut a yard fine but if you put some basic TLC I"m sure it'd be good as new. $300 in Nashville. Come and get it!0 points

We just put our youngest dog to sleep yesterday. My wife and I were not prepared for how much it hurts. Hug your dogs every day is all I can say. We don't get them for long.0 points

No. That’s a new one on me. I sure wouldn’t be opposed to one though. I sure miss my old Lab, but wife isn’t quite ready to get another one yet. It was like losing a child for her.0 points
