  1. Remington Model 24 takedown auto loader made in 1928 on the Browning patent that Remington licensed. I was tempted to refinish the stock and reblue the receiver and barrel, but advice here on TGO was definite that I shouldn’t ruin the collector value. So it is completely original. The rifle is rust-free, the stock and fore grip are intact with no visible splits or cracks, but has wear and expected dark areas from gun oil. The bore is bright without pitting, and rifling is reasonably strong. I took it to the range several weeks ago and the sights are dead-on. The only concern is that when a round is fired, the empty case ejects, but gets caught before it fully exits the receiver- the 22lr rounds used were Aguila standard velocity, so more powerful rounds may cycle. I didn’t disassemble the receiver to check further- my skills are limited there. $350

  5. GrandTrino and 1911alltheway out did themselves this time. I asked GT to make me a Bowie Knife w/ an Antler Handle and Carbon Steel, and he knocked it out of the park for sure. It's a full 19" overall and a 12" blade and brass guard. 1911alltheway made the sheath for it and he out did himself on it also. He inlayed the front with genuine Alligator Skin, I asked him to make it like a holster instead of a dangler carry, well he came up with an idea to make it a Swivel style that snaps in place to hold vertical. These two gentleman are true craftsman at what they do. Here's the pics.

  8. Whenever a manufacturer releases a .22LR version of one of their popular platforms, they are marketing it as an affordable option for range time toward people who already own their popular platform. If someone outside of that ecosystem buys one, or if it sways someone to that ecosystem from another, it's probably just a bonus. This gun was designed with the P320 \ P365 owner in mind, first and foremost, if I had to guess.

  10. All depends where you sell it, or try to sell it I should say. There are TGO prices, which are usually fair, realistic prices ... and then there are the inflated stupid prices on the big sites like Gun Broker, Arms List, etc. For the most part, us TGO folks are looking for a bargain always, but also willing to pay a "reasonable" price for something we really want. I have a CZ 550 in 6.5x55, it's not for sale, but if it was, I would hope to move it on TGO for around $800 without a scope. Which btw you can buy a new CZ 600 LUX for that. No way would it be worth $1200 in my opinion. But crazy prices seem to be the norm right now, especially on sites that have bidding wars.

  15. Yeah, I been looking into it and it sounds fun. I also looked at conversions and the overall feel was "just buy a damn 10mm one instead".

  16. It is my opinion that the 1911 platform is easily the best platform for 10mm, except for maybe running it in a PDW. I had a 10mm Springfield TRP Operator in 10mm. It was spicy but felt right.

  23. I had the exact same issues when I rented a Hellcat (I was 50/50 between that or the 365) The U notch site didn't bother me in the last, in fact I think I prefer it after shooting my Canik. However, my groups were atrocious. The recoil was far worse than I've experienced with other 9s & I too had the slide ride issue. I just couldn't get comfortable with it. The Sig, on the hand, fit me like a glove & confirmed my thought that I'm actually not a bad shot!

  24. Man I am just really skeptical of Sig quality. I love my Sig MPX but it is my most expensive gun and also the least reliable. They seem to cut corners on really important parts. My firing pin broke after maybe 1500 rounds. Probably closer to 1000. At least their customer service is great. I just don't see myself buying more Sig products when we have so many other options in every category. I do love the older Sig pistols that were still made in Germany. I'd like to have one someday.

  25. Of course, we all know to call 911 to get first responders to the scene if there is a medical emergency. But, have you ever thought "what would I do as a bystander to help in the time it takes for first responders to get here?" If so, this class is for you!

  26. For sale is my Protech TR-4 Punisher auto. #3 of a special run of 9 that I bought from Steve (Badass Blades) several years ago. This knife is a beast. Opens so strong that you better have a good hand on it. It is in almost perfect condition except for a few light blade scratches that I've done my best to show in one of the pics. Several of you guys expressed regret missing out on this group buy, so here's your chance!

  27. True, sort of, while a stamped deck does have good, possible better, airflow, most fabricated (welded) decks are just fine specially since most if not all have round baffles underneath to direct the airflow and increase suction. My Kubota tractor's deck spits out grass very forcibly, and if the guard is lifted can chuck a rock quite a distance. But the best feature of a fabricated deck is what you mentioned, the gauge of the steel, which will pay dividends down the road when you bump it against a tree or other hard object and it bounces vs fold in on itself like my JD's deck did.

  29. Bought a few months back. Did great at the range, shoots really smooth, and a great piece for a Sig collector or for everyday carry as it's dead on. I just don't carry FDE guns and it wasn't doing much good in the safe. Comes with 3 mags (10, 15, 17). Night sights. Grips are in great condition. $800. (new goes for $1000+ after tax, BG check etc.) Prefer to meet FTF in the Tri-Cities area but willing to drive half an hour. Thanks. Willing to entertain trades for bolt or lever rifles (larger than a .22) of equal or lesser value + cash; or ammo+cash (45LC, 44mag, 6.5creed, 10mm)

  30. Ammoseek reports that .45acp is the 9th most searched caliber. Ahead of .380acp, .38spl, 6.5 Creedmore, and .357Mag among others. They show lots of new brass-cased FMJ ammo at $.47 to $.50 per round in case lots. I still shoot it and use it in my carry gun. Bigger holes are always a good idea.
