I have a shelf full of cheap, broken binoculars, with a combined purchase value of around $1100 sitting right behind the $900 used Swaros I actually use to remind me of this fact.3 points

Funny how you said "not Dillons", and half your responses tell you to go buy a Dillon. I never wanted to spend that much on a press, either, but then I don't load thousands at a time. I generally use a Lee turret press, which works great, or a single stage press. But I also bought a Lee progressive that I use for a couple of pistol rounds. It works fine, and I have no complaints with it. You can buy a bullet-feeder for it, but I just manually place the bullet. I have no experience with the Dillons, and I don't doubt for a second that they're superior, but for those of us on a budge the Lee works pretty well.2 points

unless you just really want to be a test case on how this all shakes out, I'd ditch the plan to make a form 1 suppressor, get your $200 back, and put it toward a form 4 can.2 points
-
It appears that the form one route for building your own suppressor has been all but totally eviscerated. From what I gather most folks who are in the pending state with a form1 submission are going to play it safe and let their submission be disapproved rather than send any photographs of any materials they may have on hand. It's definitely a confusing time and bad luck for anyone who had recently tried to start their first form one can. You may have noticed that the vendors who were selling trap parts have mostly shut down because of this response. On the bright side I have seen some reports of form 4 suppressors filed with the form4 electronic system coming back in under 90 days already.2 points

Yea what Red said, soy product in insulation. I had a friend back 10 years ago that went to crank his fairly new Tundra and it wouldn't even click, towed to dealer and they said he need a new wiring harness, he said splice it and tape it up. Chipmunks are also pretty much a menace!!1 point

I'm putting up a seldom-fired Ruger Wrangler with factory black Cerakote finish and Altamont Super Walnut Checkered Fleur-de-Lis grips. Price: $200 (saves you tax and background check and throws in the Altamont grips for free). I put a slight dab of orange paint on the front sight for easy pickup. Comes with box and lock. I'm firm on the price but will consider a trade. I'm looking for a Ruger LCR .22 revolver and willing to pay extra boot. My photo washes out the grip color so I've posted one from the Altamont website to show the true tone. FTF Maryville-Knoxville area.1 point

I’m am a big fan of Dillon. I purchased mine used many years ago. I boxed them and sent them to Dillon. Brand new machines when I got them back. My 550 is getting a little tired and needs a rebuild, but I hate to see the bare spot on my very cluttered loading bench.1 point

Fair points but I don't think one should expect to get 2nd degree burns from an accidental flashlight activation. I plan on keeping mine as well but I guess I'll avoid pocket carry.1 point
-
In the recall letter the wording, "these models may be turned on inadvertently and overheat". Unless I'm mistaken, that means the flashlight was turned on by accident by the owner, not it magically turned on by itself. To me, that goes back on the user. I look at it somewhat similar to a firearm. Don't want the gun to fire, keep your finger off the trigger. Not saying Olight shouldn't have a better design that is less apt to turn on accidently, but personal responsibility today is a lost concept. I still love my M2R Pro Warrior and will likely keep it. And yes, if I turn it on in my pocket inadvertently and burn myself, that's on me.1 point

Hello, are you still looking for small rifle primers? I have 2400 Winchester SRP that I'd be interested in swapping. I'm in Franklin. If you are interested, text me at 615-496-4240 and we can discuss it. Kevin1 point

I've been looking really hard at the Lee Pro 4000 setup & although I'm a fan of their stuff, I just dunno.... the manual priming is off-putting & the whole thing just looks a bit janky, for want of a better word. I know the Dillon is far more expensive, even used, but the Lee just doesn't look like it's going to last. I could be wrong, but the Dillon I've seen running seems like it'll be going long after I'm gone! I've got a 'want' ad going for a 550, just to see what, if anything, is it there. I'm 90% certain that I think that might be the way to go. Maybe.1 point

I read it that he can make your AFO2 super snappy with a spring out of or similar to that Pro-Tech. If anyone would know a mod like that around here it’s Willis. He’s probably forgotten more about Pro-Tech knives than most of us will ever know.1 point

This is of course exactly what their shareholders and financiers have been demanding for several years now. As long as the stock prices are correlated to the amount of cash returned to their investors, this won't change ...1 point

Do you have one that's NIB, with the original box in mint condition as well? Although I don't play in these circles, often times the box is a really big deal with collectors of mint guns, sometimes worth as much as the gun itself, seemingly. It's not my cup of tea, but each to his own ... I'm sure there are people here who would be shocked at what I, and especially others who are more well-heeled than I, have paid for some beat up old milsurps too ...1 point

Thats still about an hour from me and currently I'm not traveling much. My wife and traveling partner has three broken bones in her foot, so traveling is off for now. We are usually headed to Gatlinburg at least 3-5 times a year, but looks like we will be home for a while now, I'm just on the wrong end of the state...1 point

You've just started a thread which will devolve into a Ford vs. Chevy, 9mm or 45ACP type of discussion. Every brand of press has its fanboys as well as those who will happily tell you that brand ________ is the worst POS ever made. As far as I can tell, all of them have their strengths and weaknesses, and all of them take some tinkering to set up and run properly. I would recommend finding some people nearby who have examples of each and that will allow you to make a trial run or 2 on each brand and type you're interested in. That's probably worth a lot more than most of the information you can get on the internet ...1 point

You are correct; this wouldn't be for me. I like something cheap and disposable, although I've never lost one, so I end up with bunch of cheap knives - lol! She often uses a knife at work for light-duty things. She has an automatic that she likes and carries all the time but is reticent in pulling out in professional situations. I was viewing this as celebratory bling for someone who has done great and deserves a treat. Heck, I get her jewelry, why not some fancy knife? I was following the trail of neat Damascus and that is where it took me. Never heard of William Henry before. I'll look at you other website, too. Thanks1 point

A wise man once said "buy once, cry once". I think that's a pretty good adage to live by. Having said that, I'll stick to my single stage as I don't trust my brain to work fast enough to keep up with a progressive press.0 points

Hey, Bob, just thought you'd like to know that Lily has severely high liver values. We had her at the vet overnight for a few days and she's been back home, but we're having trouble getting her to eat. We're hoping it's the antibiotics. I'm taking her back up there at 2:15pm today. Already spent over $1700 for her. I'd spend 20 times that to keep her going. So you may want to say a small prayer for the girl; I don't think we're out of the woods yet. I still have the ACOGs. If anyone is interested in that DMR 6x 5.56 big fatboy ACOG, I can make you a good deal on it.0 points
