Well, after contacting them again and a bit of back and forth, worked out a deal on the KLX300 and got it home this evening. I am looking forward to getting a little seat time on it. Don't have a lot of experience on the smaller off road oriented bikes, but should be fun to learn. Now I have my 90/10 bike and a 10/90 bike. One thing is for sure, I can't see how anyone would want to ride one of these little things on a large highway.5 points

He walked up to me and said, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN MY YARD!". He had a nice place on Old Hickory Reservoir. He was surrounded by apple orchards. The property with the orchard was across the road from his estate. The orchard was sold and subdivided. I was working for Nashville Electric Service and we were surveying a pole line to supply power for the new subdivision. I told Mr. Cash that we were going to have to put a guy wire in his yard to hold up a pole. He said "Oh no you're not!" I said "NO we are not." and we had to resurvey the pole line to keep the guy wire off his lawn. He was very happy and I had a story I could tell.4 points

While I can’t point you to a specific location around you, if you check with your local farmers co-op they usually have dyed farm diesel.3 points
-
We use dyed diesel in anything farm related and exclusively buy it from the local CO-OP and are tax exempt through the farm. It's hilarious to watch the local news this morning saying "Putin's War" is starting to put strain on farmers nationwide LMAO. Shows how out of f*ckin touch people are. Farmers have been getting ass raped on fertilizer for a while. Anyone want to guess when it really hit ? I can give you a hint and it was long before ol Vlad was polishing up his war helmet.3 points

2800 total. 1800 Winchester, 1000 Remington 2-1/2. Unused in excellent condition. Want to trade 1:1 for small rifle primers. I'll take 2500 if you come pick them up. Located in our near Tullahoma, can't afford to freaking deliver them......2 points

You've just started a thread which will devolve into a Ford vs. Chevy, 9mm or 45ACP type of discussion. Every brand of press has its fanboys as well as those who will happily tell you that brand ________ is the worst POS ever made. As far as I can tell, all of them have their strengths and weaknesses, and all of them take some tinkering to set up and run properly. I would recommend finding some people nearby who have examples of each and that will allow you to make a trial run or 2 on each brand and type you're interested in. That's probably worth a lot more than most of the information you can get on the internet ...2 points

Well, that deal was made when there wasn't an anti-US energy administration in power. Th price didn't have to increase this much. ETA: I haven't read this agreement, but I bet there was some stipulation that all involved parties could renegotiate in the event of a crisis. Whatever the case, the agreement was for two years and that was two years ago. OPEC is free to do whatever they like, and lately they are telling Biden to eat sh*t.2 points

Trump brokered a deal with OPEC for THEM to reduce oil production during a time when oil was already cheap and the world was suddenly faced with a drastic reduction in demand due to people staying home during the pandemic. Your CNBC oil expert paints a pretty grim picture: The sharp decline in oil prices spurred giant capex and job cuts across the U.S. shale industry, which has some of the highest production costs in the world. Trump initially thought the price war between OPEC an Russia would be a good thing for American consumers, but But Yergin said: ”(Trump) came to see this as a national security issue, also an employment issue, and a very important factor in the U.S. economy … and he just jumped in.” So the point is, at a time when there was surplus oil and prices were in danger of crashing, Trump convinced OPEC to cut production, but we made no such commitment. The apparent result was he maintained American energy production and saved American jobs in the process. Did you even read the entire article?2 points

Thanks. I haven't settled on a specific model yet but I've got a few in mind. Either the Honda I mentioned above or the Kawasaki KLX that Hozzie bought. Or really any dual sport around 300cc.2 points

Based on the above I certainly wouldn't send money, would HAVE to be ftf. I was originally going to offer to pay for shipping but the price seemed kinda unrealistically low and then I saw the "ghosting" feedback.2 points

This week will end the attempt to gain a few yards on restoring the Right to arms originally intended for Tennesseans. HB 2554 as amended, ( and I know the State web site still does not show the amendment I shared earlier but it WAS filed, they may try to call it "untimely filed" so they do not have take it up at all) is up in Civil Justice Subcommittee on Tuesday, Why it landed there is simply the result of the Speakers prerogative, it should in fact be in Criminal Justice, but there would be a lot better chance of it getting our of committee that way, and the Establishment does not want to level up The People with the Heat... I am going to break my standard and actually testify on it. I at least want to have video that these committee members know the facts of the bill before they whisk it off to never land. Two TN Supr3eme Court cases say that off duty officers are merely civilians, and as the legislature has said the cost charged by the Dept. of Safety to train and license you to carry a handgun with the enhanced Permit is sufficient to allow one to to walk among their fellow Citizens, we should be able to do so where3 any other Citizen can... HB 1735 is up in Civil Full on Wednesday, I hold no hope that it has any chance of passing in that committee, Reps Farmer, Garrett, Russell and Curcio will see to it that it does not pass. And finally, HB 2524, arguably the best of all the bills this year, by our Hero Jerry Sexton presents Wednesday in Criminal Sub. I also intend to testify on that one, I want the State to know that the Biden Administration held up Tennessee as the Posterchild of gun control in the New York Rifle and Pistol Club v. Bruen case before the Supreme Court this last fall. In oral arguments the Solicitor General Brian Fletcher (at 1:27:58 https://www.oyez.org/cases/2021/20-843) pointed out that Tennessee passed a law making it a crime to carry a firearms sans being LE, and it is still on the books today. If we have sitting legislators in the Republican Party that are good with this, they need firing. GOA and TFA are having their joint lobby day on Wednesday, I would love to have some 2nd Amendment enthusiast show up to counter the hordes of Moms Demand Action Bloomberg acolytes that are always there and ever present in large numbers, but am not holding my breath.1 point

Sell two rifles, buy a Dillon. It is magic. Kidding aside ....... buy a Dillon. One more try ... I've got an RCBS single stage for big rifles, a Lee turret press dedicated to .44 mag and .357 and a Dillon 550. For things I need mass quantities, I crank out on the Dillon. Every stroke of the handle pops out a finished round vs the three different stages on a single press (pistol) , two stages for rifle if you can get by without an expander, which you can't if you're doing cast. The Lee turret only helps that I don't have to screw in and out dies, but that don't save that much time. I continue to load on the RCBS singe my deer rifles, cuz I don't shoot those much and I hand weigh each round on top of that. The Dillon would be the bomb for 5.56 and .300. BTW, that Forster co-ax you have is a great single stage press. Forster makes some top quality stuff. Buy the DIllon.1 point

Those Chinese bikes are interesting. I have a buddy who has talked about wanting something for around his farm. For a couple of thousand, could be an interesting and fun way to do it without breaking the bank and they do have have pretty good reviews (well except the one Greg linked to ). With anything like this I think it would be keeping your expectations reasonable.1 point

I got this 2007 Yamaha Vstar 1300 with 4k miles last year as a workaround for insurance, the rising cost of fuel, and 3 teens on the insurance. Loved that bike. Got totaled in November! Promptly replaced with a 2010 Yamaha Stratoliner with 6k miles on it. Enjoying every bit of it!1 point

When my son wanted to try a first bike to take his Drivers license on, I settled on getting him this one about 11 years ago. It was $1,479 delivered in a crate. We did a basic assembly and I fleshed it out on the road. It did everything pretty good. It was a 200cc. He learned some good lessons riding it on the road. Then we sold it for a 84 Honda 450 Night Hawk. Now hes on a Yamaha 650 V Star Classic. I think the China bike was a great learner for him. I didnt know if he would like riding enough to stick with it. So in my book, New & cheap fit the bill just right. I was impressed enough with that deal that when my 7 year old Grandson wanted a dirt bike, I found a 110 automatic on Amazon and he likes riding it when ever we have him on those rare occasions. I see Amazon has fuel injected 250's now. Buying from them was a snap. It worked out well for us as starter throw aways if they got crashed.1 point

If you use pump diesel ( or gasoline) for farm purposes you can recover the federal fuel taxes at tax time by filing a form. {IRS 4136}. Probably need to have farm or other off road expenses and income . I know farm income is one of the uses that qualifies.1 point

I go past the local co-op fairly often, and have bought a few things there but never paid any attention to whether they had dyed diesel or not. I'll stop and talk with them. Thanks! I don't burn a lot of diesel in my tractor, I buy 25 or 30 gallons in jugs every few months. Still.....1 point

could you take a front to back measurement for me please? I am trying to see if these are the same as my accurate mags, which are 3.850" if so I will most likely take these. Thanks. That would be an outside dimension btw.1 point

So I've been researching different bikes. Apparently the motorcycle market is just as jacked up as trying to buy a new or used car right now. I have yet to find any "deals" on Facebook marketplace. I've seen a few people selling the Honda CFR300L Rally for more than they cost NEW. Other than Facebook, where else should I shop for used bikes?1 point

Never fell in love with the whole 1911 thing, do have a couple of Glocks. A G19 was my first real big boy handgun. Added a bunch more since including the G19's little brother G26, just to be a little more compact and to stay in the double stack mag interchangeability family. Lately I'm thing a G34 would be nice to round out my Glock collection. Sorry left out the comment on the topic. I like butting my own age on new guns. Older handguns if they have some earned scars that is fine, I don't like fake aging,1 point
