  1. NEW MEMBERS - READ THIS! Private Messages: You can receive and reply to private messages, but you cannot start new private messages. Why? Because too many spammers have ruined it for you and this protects our members. Ten Days, Ten Posts: Once you have been with us for at least 10-days and made at least 10 public posts in other forums outside of the Trading Post, you can automatically move out of New Member status and start sending your own private messages. So how do you contact a seller? Post publicly in their thread. Ask them to contact you. Don't provide a phone number or email address publicly. That's dumb. People will spam you. Don't haggle with them publicly. All negotiating happens in private. Want to skip ahead to the good stuff? Want to send private messages NOW? All of the above can be bypassed by becoming a Benefactor member. You can do that by clicking here. A Benefactor membership is a cheap way to support the TGO community monetarily. It gives you the ability to make non-commercial ads in our Trading Post forums. It bypasses all of the new member restrictions. Our Benefactor members truly have "skin in the game" and are the lifeblood of TGO. We hope that you will consider becoming one, if not now - down the road.

  3. I love bikes and have been riding for a LONG time, but be careful as you start out. A lot of drivers won't see you, so you need to expect them to behave as if you aren't there. Bikes generally get pretty good fuel economy, my 1200cc BMW averages right around 50mpg. But my 1100cc Ducati gets about half that, so ymmv! Buy the very best helmet you can afford and don't go cheap on tires.

  4. I'm signed up for a two day class at Pellissippi State later this month to learn how to ride a motorcycle. The way gas prices are headed maybe I'll get a moped .

  6. Ok, first time, be gentle.... Mods, if this needs to be moved please do so, I'm putting it here because I want the first one open to all, not just benefactors. I'm a new MAC Tools Franchisee in Jefferson City. I'm doing a monthly drawing for sometging free, this month it'll be a pair of gloves, see the description and link below. Rules are simple.... Post "In" or "I'm in" followed by your preferred size. Drawing closes at midnight 3/31. No posts after that will be considered. Somewhere around April 1 I'll use a random number generator to pick and post a winner, who will have a week to message me with their mailing address. I'll order the appropriate size and ship via UPS. Simple enough... Moving forward I'll be putting this in "Benefactors Lounge" for paid members only, but I want the first couple open to all. Oh, and follow me on Facebook at LeeTheToolGuy Here's the link to the swag: https://www.mactools.com/products/31d2c8a5-f311-4b21-b424-a78600e684b0 FEATURES Touch screen capable Adjustable ThermoPlastic Rubber closure Terrycloth sweat wipe

  7. About to roll out on a 1400 mile round trip. With the prices of gas, it's still cheaper than 4 people flying. Looking at $250-280 in fuel hopefully. Free lodging is a big plus. All this doesn't sting me as most daily commuters. Thankfully my work round trip is 11.4 miles.

  10. My new Springfield Garrison .45 ACP. Ken Mays installed some usable sights and an ambi safety, took the trigger from 5.5-6 pounds down to 3.75, blended the Smith & Alexander magwell with the frame, checkered the front strap, put a mild undercut on the trigger guard, and gave the gun an overall massage. I added the LOK Bogies camo grips. It’s gonna be my new CDP gun for IDPA. Thanks Ken!

  11. Pretty much. Otherwise, I can't think of a reason our leaders would refuse to increase American oil production, which would A. lower the price for Americans already fighting inflation B. Supply the rest of the world or much of it and C. Make dickheads like Putin irrelevant. Instead, supporting the green energy cult is more important than national security.

  14. Came to say I purchased the Mossy 500A from him, no problems, showed up, chatted for a while and then sat in traffic on the way home. Ok, not so much traffic, but got home and it was dark so didn't get to fire it yet.

  15. I'm still most interested in a Dual Sport bike. I want to get a hitch hauler for my truck and ride down in Tellico. I saw a guy on one a few years ago and he drove right through the creek crossing on one of the roads. Water was probably 8" deep. It looks like he was having a blast.

  19. I want to be the one making the decision as to who knows I am carrying. Same as I don't flash wads of cash or have my address on the back of my shirt. If I want to stand out, boy do I know how to, but I would rather not. Means I get to avoid dealing with lots of aholes and general complications in my daily life. I am good with that. That's my right. (See what I did there?)

  20. I'm a MAC Tools franchise owner in Jefferson City. If you need something MAC, please let me know. I can drop ship anything you need or you can pick up from me along my route which basically runs from Jefferson City to Bulls Gap through Morristown along 11. Reach out to me here via DM, text me at 8six5 three37 2zerofour6, or email LeeTheToolGuy@gmail dot com If you have a MAC distributor please continue to deal with him, I will not poach. MAC does offer traditional financing for large purchases at (sometimes) competetive rates, but it's third-party commercial so they range up to 23.99% I'm happy to process an application but have ZERO control or input into rates/terms. Last... Check out my drawing in "General Chat", I'm giving away a pair of gloves. I plan a monthly drawing, hopefully business will improve over time and the prize will get better:) UPDATE: Want to trade-in your unloved/unneeded firearm? Let's make a deal...

  21. Had a couple Harleys then went to dual sports. I really like that type of riding. Started out on a TW200. That thing was a billy goat. It would go anywhere! I went up to a 650 BMW, but too heavy for my confidence off road, so I sold it and bought a new CRF Rally 250. Great weight, and will cruise the highway fast enough for me. Yep, we need a TGO ride.

  27. A couple of days ago there were reports that Russian sellers couldn't offload oil supplies even at a substantial discount to the Brent crude rate normally used throughout the European markets. This was without any sanctions on the sales, buyers simply weren't buying Russian oil supplies. I don't know if this was for symbolic reasons due to the war, or maybe buyers were afraid that sanctions would be applied before the contracts were delivered, thus risking their investments altogether. In any case, apparently Russia is finding it increasingly hard to sell crude on the open market ...

  28. As stupid high as fuel prices are right now, I'm willing to pay more if the US will quit buying Russian oil altogether. Every dime that goes to Russia from energy sales is helping to finance the murder of innocent Ukrainians right now. And I would sure like to see the US pumping as much oil as possible to offset that a bit.

  29. Let's cry together on this one. Many years past, I was in a semi-local gunshop during a Turkey Day Sale. Found myself looking over a shelf of S&W magnums. Three sort of reached out and grabbed me by the cojones. A Lew Horton 629, a Model 19-2, and a Smith Mountain gun. I couldn't seem to make a decision...so the clerk suggested I just buy all 3. So I did. Wife had a fit when I got home. How much did you spend? I told her the truth. All three came to just under 1K. I'm sure I won't see that again. At least I wouldn't think so. I still have the others, but I sold the 629 to a co-worker a few years later for 750 and was very happy. That let me more than clear the others. But I sure have regretted letting that 629 go. And a Lew Horton model at that. Of course, most of the younger guys won't know that name. Just trust me. It might have been the best of the lot.

  33. Quit pickin on the guy. He's not real internet savy, but he is honest. I bought the Single Six and Beretta. Made the deal and exchanged info via IM and phone. He showed up on time, was friendly and all went very well. What more do you want? He posted the list and prices. If you're interested, just contact him and work out the details.

  34. cheap is relative term. I don’t see anything “cheap” worth a chance today but pay little attention. S&W night guard series about doubled in a few years, because discontinued. Look for things like this. Uzi pro is probably a good one today. Out there new, but recently discontinued. Three years from now someone will pay more then you paid today because everyone can’t get one. “Cheap” hoard ammo and primers until the next shf. I sold off my 7.62x39 8M3 for fair today’s price. Probably never see 8m3 rounds again but it’s kind of internet hype, there’s better options IMO

Just let them search your car, what's the bid deal if you are doing nothing wrong? Just let them pull you over and try and find something on you. What's the big deal if you are doing nothing wrong? Just let them read all your messages, what's the big deal if you are doing nothing wrong?
