I get it. I’m sick of having to mark them as spammers too. What I’m not sick of is the time you and others put in to alert us to these assholes so that we can take care of them. Thank you. Seriously. We couldn’t get them so quickly without y’all doing your part. It’s much appreciated.7 points

Every single want ad I've placed in the past year, garners a PM like this: "Hi if your still looking, I can help out with a lead, you can reach out to Matthew in texas he has the Ruger American .223/5.56 sale this is his email address stevenmattdavis@gmail.com good luck " I'm about sick & tired of these losers. Sorry. Just having a vent.5 points

If you let a camel put his nose in your tent, you will soon have a camel in your tent. We have given government so much power they are now creating their own power. The constitution is the most powerful document ever written and it must be preserved. It seems every day we give some of it away or it is simply walked on. It’s your land, post it and allow who you want on it. Period!4 points

I am too and I also just received the same one... I just wish they would use their " skills", some are pretty good, and use it to forward themselves in society instead of being the thieves that they are.4 points

Maybe we should go straight 419eater and see how far we can string some of them along. If they're going to waste our time - might as well make it cost them something, too.3 points

Reading a little further about this case, the murder occurred in 2000, the trial in 2003. Garrett entered a guilty plea to involuntary manslaughter to avoid a possible death penalty, was sentenced to 15 years and released in 2011. The TBI information showing a possible link to the the real killer's DNA was provided to the prosecution in 2004, but nobody ever bothered to follow up on it. During Garrett's original interrogation, investigator's lied about finding Garrett's DNA at the crime scene to try to coerce a confession from him ( courts have repeatedly ruled that during interrogations, police are generally under no obligation to tell the truth to potential defendants and are essentially free to lie). After Garrett's release in 2011, it's taken another 10 years for the real killer to finally be charged and arrested, finally leading to Garrett's original conviction being thrown out last year, thus the lawsuit filed recently. I would say he has a pretty good chance of winning this one ...3 points

I was at the right place and right time to find this old dinosaur. I am a sucker for the old Ruger P-series pistols. They are fat , big , and clunky but they run forever until the good Lord comes back. This is the P95. It has the fiberglass frame and the frame rails that the slide rides on is the same fiber glass that the frame is made of. So a slide that rides on fiber glass instead of metal . I was always worried about this but no one has had one ever fail or wear down. This one was never fired and is new in the box. Still has the danger/warning sticker on the frame. When I was turning 21 the Ruger P-Series 85 and 89 were coming out and they were my first pistol. They would run no matter what I put in them and when dirty they still never failed. I just thought Id share this with you guys. have a good day !2 points

Just get a warrant. They will just pull over on a random person's property and look around. They did get told that they couldn't take card readers with them. Guys were tempted to look at you game camera footage and delete any pictures of themselves. I argued with my game warden buddy about this. He told me I was trying to make his job harder. I told him that his job should be hard, but I hope he gets the bad guys.2 points

Update, Back to work masked as per Docs & I assume CDC orders. No lasting effects I can notice. Since original post I got better real quick. If it was Omicron, then for me it was no big deal. Wish it was that way for everyone. All reports are most people deal with it well.2 points

I thought we had another thread tracking this case, but the TWRA’s motion to dismiss this case was denied today, meaning it will proceed to discovery: https://ij.org/press-release/tennessee-property-owners-score-early-win-in-lawsuit-against-warrantless-trespassing-surveillance-on-private-land/1 point

Ehh, it's for emergencies only, actually. With a handheld HAM, I won't be paying monthly fees. But a sat phone is a good idea were I to be in the boonies quite a bit, I agree.1 point

So thrilled to live in a free state, relocated from LA area in November. The Lord opened doors for us to be here, bought a new construction home here in Spring Hill. Getting used to this weather! I was overwhelmed at the variety of firearms available here that are not available new from a dealer in California due to their onerous and illogical laws.1 point

I came down with symptoms on Jan 2nd. Unvaccinated... age 74. Tested positive on day 4. The worst part was the sort throat caused by sinus congestion. I followed the FLCCC protocol. You can look it up. NyQuil, DayQuil, and pseudoephedrine helped a LOT with the sore throat. I made the 1% solution povidone-iodine nasal spray and so did my wife. The recipe is on the FLCCC website. I think it cut down the viral load from my nose and what my wife probably breathed in enough to prevent her from catching it. It lasted about 5 days and then got noticeably better. The fatigue lasted 14 days and I still have some slight sinus drainage. If you think about it, the nasal rinse (spray) makes a lot of sense since the virus grows first in the nasal passageways.1 point

Great post! I have struggled with the same problem. I can draw my little Smith and Wesson model 36 3" and fire two rounds faster than any handgun I own. So that is what I carry at 3 O'clock. To deal with the 5 round capacity, I keep a P365 in a crossdraw configuration at 10 O'clock. If I had to pick just one, I would have to pick the wheel gun.1 point

Dang, Charlie Hafner was my go to when I lived in Nashville. Having the pistol pit to yourself was awesome. I’ve since moved to Chattanooga where I joined the Chattanooga Rifle Club, which has to be one of the best values in the south. Fantastic facilities/property.1 point

On a lark, I took the practice test. Admittedly nothing squat, I scored a 20 out of 35 possible. Failed, of course. But as you said, I would imagine after reading the study guide for a bit I could pass easily.1 point

Be careful about using a Netflix, or any other TV series as a source for information about what's going on in the criminal justice system. Those shows are designed to inflame your opinion, by showing only what the director wants you to see about these cases. A good example of that was the series "Making a Murderer", that ran a few years back. While it was an entertaining show, and did a great job of leading the viewers to a definite conclusion about the case, it was sorely lacking when it came to presenting the facts of the case in an unbiased light, omitting or glossing over a lot of evidence pointing to Avery's guilt, while concentrating only on the inconsistencies that exist in virtually every investigation ...1 point

Well, at least experiences like yours help to educate the rest of us so that none fall victim to this kind of scam.1 point

Evidently, there are beaucoup variants on the Shield Plus. But I stand by my earlier comments. I really, really like mine. If not in Memphis, I think I would own another one!1 point

Like your choices. Maybe not so much on the Mark 1, but definitely on the P210. Your GP 100 sounds like the Model 19 Smith I got from my Dad. Old, reliable, sweet trigger, and a pussycat with 38 loads in it. But more of a Tiger with a hot 357!1 point

Glad you're feeling better. If I make it back up your way someday, with your permission, might give you a shout. Spent a little time in the thriving metropolis of Cookeville. lol. Actually grew up and lived in Baxter and had a trailer apartment in Cookeville until I met my wife and moved to Nashville in '74/'75. Can't remember when exactly. The place sure has grown since then!1 point

I HATE these Karens who move in right next to a range & then bitch about the noise. Am I wrong or did TN not pass a range protection law about this sort of thing?1 point

It's one thing for a detective or prosecutor to make a mistake but I've seen so many examples now where they have all but framed an innocent person. It's maddening. They are almost never prosicuted either. Imagine losing 18 years of your life for something you didn't do.1 point

Some of the places I travel through has no one living near it for miles upon miles. Extremely remote, thus no cell signal. While I always carry, there may be a time when I'm too injured to hike out 5-6 miles until I reach something or someone. This is what I'm trying to prepare for, not to chit chat on a radio to someone living in another state. Unless she's female, of course.....................1 point

I used to be all for the death penalty, but no longer. There are way too many stories of mistaken identity or outright misconduct like this. The detective should be criminally charged.1 point

Sorry to take this a bit off-topic from the sale aspect, but the red dots appear to be here to stay. It's been a change for me as well. lol I wasn't aware that the 4" PC version was not shipped with the red dot. Mine was, and had the special cleaning kit as well. At any rate, these are fine pistols, and I wouldn't mine having a spare. Just cannot physically do that long drive anymore, even a halfway meet would be very difficult. Now back to you...the PC version of the Shield Plus makes it even better! GLWS!1 point

I'm interested. It looks like they fixed the three things that bugged me about the original HP35: No magazine safety - YAY! Longer beavertail - No more hammer bite - YAY! Decent combat sights - YAY!1 point

I would recommend an old, pinned and recessed Model 28 Smith and Wesson (Highway Patrolman). If your budget allows, go for the glitzier model 27.1 point
