  1. This sounds like an amazing idea. As a final word on the matter: @DispositionMatrixnobody (especially me) is buying your attempts to deny that you were doing exactly what you did here. Some of us have been on the internet since before the World Wide Web was even an actual thing. We’ve had enough experience with a specific type of online behavior to recognize it when we see it. If it looks, walks, and quacks like a duck then it’s a most certainly a damn duck. You're on thin ice. My tolerance for this kind of scatological material of a bovine origin is very low. 2. This is an old picture. I've added more since this was taken. 1959 Colt Commander .45acp. My EDC. CMP 1911. 1942 Colt frame with an Ithica slide. 1964 Clark Longslide. Still as accurate today as when it was made.

  4. I'm small potatoes compared to some of you. The Colt 1911 was my father's. I'm 65, and I remember him bringing it home when I was 8 or so, and how heavy it was then. I keep waiting for the Mustang to grow up.

  6. I do hate that for you. Completely taints the whole joy of a new pistol. From what I hear that turnaround time is not an overestimation. It most likely will take that long with the backlog they apparently have. I love S&W (historically) but their current business model is to pump out guns as fast as they can and fix any issues later. That “new” screw that you put in...I’d be raising hell with the source of it as well.
    2 points
  7. I would be inclined to extract the screw and re tap the threads since I might have the correct tools to do it. But I shouldn't and shouldn't have to. When one buys a firearm we should expect top quality components and workmanship. Especially from a manufacturer like S&W. Sorry for your frustration. Send it back and complain loudly and daily. This kind of issue is completely unacceptable in my eyes. they should just send a new slide.

  8. These are pretty small, thin screws. None of them appear to be made of "quality" metal. Cheap Chinese junk, most likely.

  9. I think any time I spend trying to find a machinist to take a swing at this locally would just add time to the delay of getting it back from Smith & Wesson. The 6-8 weeks part is what I find totally unsatisfactory.
    2 points
  10. How would you propose that I get that screw out? There is nothing left to grab ahold of. The two-month wait is now the cost of not ruining the gun. It's infuriating, yes, but trying something more drastic could damage the gun, which Smith & Wesson certainly would be under no obligation to repair. At this point I don't feel that I have any good alternatives than play their game.

  11. This . Just unscrew the windage screw (counter clockwise) all the way out and lift the sight blade out.should be a spring behind it.Best I remember they can be a little harder to get back in, I’ve took out and replaced several in MKII’s which is about the same sight.Shop Ruger has them and probably Brownells

  12. These blades are replaceable and can be had thru ShopRuger or also I think Midway has them- I think if you adjust the rear blade all the way to the right and push it to the left it's just held in by a spring-it's been a while since I replaced one- I also had good luck calling Ruger's warranty department and gotten them free-I told them I broke a side of the blade off and they just sent me one-this was true-it really did break-I had tapped it against one other pistol in the safe and it broke right off-

  13. Not the only 1911 I own, but my favorite. STI Trojan 9mm. My only regret about this gun is not getting its twin in .45 back before STI went exclusively tacti-cool.

  14. Just because you didn't name a manufacturer doesn't mean you didn't post a rumor that one may in fact be lobbying for a ban.

  15. Vintage Cherry Hardwood from the Carlyle & Co. jewelry store in Greenhills mall. This covered the 2500 sq foot retail store for over 75yrs. So many different uses for this, from repurposing to a retail store, or for home, or any project using cherry wood including knife handles, gun stocks, gun cases, or custom furniture. After some research from online, to antique dealers, to contractors this should sell for $50/ft. I am not going to hand polish, clean, and measure so selling as is. "Bosses" description: Solid cherry vintage trim wood that was reclaimed from the demolition of the old Carlyle and company store at the Green Hills mall in Nashville. Some curved pieces and window box as well as some wainscoting that matches. Beautiful wood for trim work or for the wood hobbyist. Would make gorgeous gun cases, shadow boxes, cutting boards, knife handles, walking canes or wall art. As is. Yes , finish nails are still in it. $1200 for all OBO.

  17. Super condition Dan Wesson 22 Lr revolver. This gun uses a tool to be able to remove the barrels for different lengths. Fiber optic sights installed, also includes two power Swift long Eye relief scope and mount to really make this a tack driver. I also have a suppressor adapter to replace the factory barrel nut, I tried this and even took the barrel cylinder gap to minimum clearance but I do not feel it’s that great of a suppressor host. Very accurate very smooth shooting gun and with the 8 inch under lug barrel very easy to stay on target. 850.00$ Proarcaviation@gmail.com

  19. If it is t thru hole it can be drilled from the backside. A lot of times it will push the broken screw out when the drill starts to bite.

  25. The only cigar I ever tried to smoke made me sick for two days. The first puff I thought this isn't so bad. Second puff I thought maybe I was making a mistake. Third puff was the last. My dad smoked the Dutch Masters, and they killed him twenty one years ago. So that box is pretty old and filled with hand-cast 357 wadcutters. The Thug is a pretty cool cat, but he has had no bad experiences in life and thinks the whole world loves him. He'd walk right up to coyote to say hello if he ever got outside.

  28. This is why I'v been watching what India has and is doing about this pandemic. Their Health ministry has now clearly taken a stand against big Pharma publicly in this article. Covid-19: No antibody cocktail in revised treatment protocol in Bengal | Kolkata News - Times of India (indiatimes.com) This aint gona happen here in cash cow America. So if this isnt going to be the "go to" for the average Joe Indian, what has been working there to be so cocky to turn a nose up at the costly treatments? Explained: India's Covid-19 treatment protocol | IndiaToday Has this been working you might ask??? As with the common Flue, some are bound to kick the bucket, I'v grown to more or less trust the India stats over anything you get out of the US based Health Czars for obvious reasons. India COVID - Coronavirus Statistics - Worldometer (worldometers.info) In any SHTF situation Mil spec weapons, ammo and long term food stands toe to toe with medications. My personal; choice here was to do a direct order to AGM allgenericmedicine (India) for 100 Ivecop 12mg Ivermectin tablets. At $1.55 per pill shipped, I have SOMETHING that reportedly works against a variety of Viruses, deadly or otherwise if need be. It would come as no surprise if Pharma, has Congress shut these out of country direct med imports down with a new importation rules. Pharma, Like the Federal Government has grown into a massive organization that consumes Billions of YOUR dollars just to stay alive. Whats new is the controllers over them have had enough of the population explosion and will be pulling the strings harder than ever for illness, food shortages, fake "insurrections" and even Wars. Just how much more money they can make from it all while still culling the heard is the challenge of interest for them. JMO.

  35. I've seen this gun and it's as described or better. This is a great gun for a High Standard collector. I was tempted to buy it "just because" it was so nice but I'd have wanted to stick it in the safe for another 20-30 years because it was too nice to shoot.

  37. What needs to be understood is that through CMS/Cares act the hospitals get more rebursement for a covid 19 diagnosis. They also get a 20%bonus if the have a diagnosis and use Remdesivir/monoclonal AB/convalescent plasma. Which is why they wont try ivermectin or any other drug, they will lose that bonus. Keep in mind the WHO advises against Remdesivir as it does not reduce hospitalization, does not reduce ventilator time, or reduce mortality. It pretty much burns up your kidney. Furthermore, a hospital has lots of asymptomatic patients getting a routine gallbladder, or birthing a baby that are positive. We need a distinction of died from vs died with. The news is directed to continue the hype train and continue the paranoia. What also needs to be addressed Why don't we have a antibody level set so we would know if a booster is appropriate, Instead of just get a booster after booster. (BTW labcorp will tell you your antibody level for 10 bucks, but what level makes you safe? Shrug...) Why are we being told vaccines are safe when the long term studies are not complete till 2024? There is currently an expectation that docs don't report reactions so the ones in VAERs database can be expected to be even worse. https://www.cms.gov/medicare/covid-19/new-covid-19-treatments-add-payment-nctap There is a lot to be discussed openly and honestly. Vaccine passports incoming! No GOP won't save you, voting indiscretion will be alive and well in the midterms.

  41. Many believe the Goock Mdl 19 Gen 5 is the best pistol ever off the shelf. Me, I am with SW MP 9 C fans for my plastic pistols. Looked at a gen 5 mdl 19, at Barret's in Murfreesboro, a couple days ago, for 469.00 + tax. Have a gen 3 that spits hot brass back into my face/neck every now and then. I guess I should send it back to Glock and have the ejector repaired. Carry the M P 9 C insted. Seems everyone likes to hate on Glocks.
