The Bible talks about this subject in Judges. The main theme is in the last verse of chapter 21. (judges 21:25) "In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes." Just won't work guys. There simply must be laws and the GOVERNMENT is set up to punish those who do not obey them. They recently arrested 3 of the smash and grab guys in New York City and Mayor DeBlasio ordered no incarceration for non-violent thugs, so the 3, they were on the street in an hour. Defund the Police. No incarceration. No harsh laws for crooks. Politicians in major Democratic led cities(no king in Israel) will not allow the arm of the law to be used these days. People do what they think is right in their own eyes. Really simple guys. We now have Cáos in our society. Like it or not, you guys are not reading the right books, or you would know what is going on.

Many years ago (1981) I found a bunch of .50cal cans out in the maneuver area at Fort Hood. They had been buried, but the creek undercut where they had been buried and they were exposed. Some had Garand clips of .30-06, one had ten loaded BAR magazines, and there were also three .30 cans with linked 4-1 ammo. All of the ammo had '40 dates, but no telling when the cans were dumped as we used that ammo until the '70's. Upshot - Some of the cans were rusty on the outside. None were rusted through. All of the rubber seals were intact and there was no moisture inside. All of the ammo was in fine shape and went 'bang!' appropriately. And a friend with a live BAR helped me 'test' the magazines for function (all worked perfectly). That made me a believe in .50cal cans. I stack them 6 high with a paper label on the opening handle so I don't have to open them to see what they contain. I also use my endless supply of 5gal kitty litter buckets to hold empty brass before reloading, and my reloads before using.

Both games were physical mismatches, although Cincinnati did play about as well as they could and kept it relatively close for a while. These games showcased the disparity of talent between the top-level SEC teams, and everybody else ...

You need a New Riot Gun for the New Year.

Many years ago (late '80's, early '90's) a convenience store in South Greensboro, NC had guy walk in waving a pistol after it had been robbed a few times previously. The Korean owner blew him away with a 12ga to the chest. Then, the owner put a fake bloody head on a spike in front of the store. The news run with the story for a few days because of the 'brutal actions' of the store owner in putting the head on a spike. But the store was not robbed for several years, in spite of other nearby convenience store getting robbed. About four years later, another dude comes in waving a pistol, receives the same welcome. A second bloody head was placed next to the first one. Again, it made the news. This time, they interviewed other convenience store managers about the bloody heads. After several of them were on TV saying that they now had shotguns, crime in that part of Greensboro dropped dramatically. I'll bet that smash and grabs would be reduced by the same prescription. Sadly, here in TN you cannot use deadly force except to defend people in fear of death or serious injury.

That situation exists in Japan, too. Not because the Japanese fear harsh punishment, but because they value their good standing in society. We have a saying here that the squeaking wheel gets the grease. The corollary saying in Japan is, "The nail that sticks up gets hammered down," Of course there are honest and dishonest people everywhere. A friend went to Tijuana with me to shop for a pair of cowboy boots, and she left her purse in the store when we left. The store-keeper chased us down two blocks away to return it, and that after I'd done my best to haggle the price of the boots down. I was impressed.

I think Alabama and Georgia both took their foot off the gas a bit and started rotating kids once they were well in control. Both games could have been 50-3. There was a notable absence of late game cramps and "injuries" that tend to occur in close games. And UT got totally screwed. Several of those PI calls and that TD.... that was really, really bad.

Bought a slightly smaller version of this from him a month or two ago. Then had him custom make me a carving knife because mine sucked. Very nice blades, fit my hand well, hold a good edge. The tax bit is just a surface item to pay for the enforcement. As pointed out there is not cut in these scenarios. Alcohol laws have a lot of history around social norms and their religion based drivers. In this case, they would go on about a licensee having he burden to ensure they are of age and so on. Keep you safe....whenever you here that garbage....its just someone wanting to control. This community completely relates to anti gun activity as govt over reach, politicians pandering to their majority. Maybe you have to be from one of the no blue law heathan states to appreciate it. Blue laws in the bible belt are just another form of government over reach imo. I was really blown away by things like dry counties and finding out I could not get certain beverages shipped to me here. Or that you cant buy a car on a Sunday. Folks love to weaponized their belief systems onto others if they can get a quorom on like minded together. Its not human nature to live and let live. We must save you from yourself. Whether that be guns or alcohol or whatever.

This is exactly the states stance but shutting down secondary liquor sales doesn’t net the state one more dime. The tax was paid on the initial sale, there are no liquor store buy back plans or “used liquor store salesman” around. So I can’t see how two people both of legal age to buy alcohol can’t do so without government intervention. If the government wins this “no private sale war” they will essentially cut their tax revenue as demand will drop and liquor store prices will go down as well. The secondary potential value of these bottles is what’s driving the market and overall sales, not the drinkablilty of the whiskey. I’d wager many fewer people willing to shell out $500 for a bottle without the option to resell for 3-4x that amount.

I couldn't possibly count how many of those little Tootsie Roll sized boxes of caps that I took, pulled a segment off of, and then smashed with a hammer in order to make the loudest bang possible. I swear I can smell the burn of Sulphur just thinking about it. Life in the 80's got slightly more advanced when my friends and I discovered Edison Giocattolli cap guns from Italy. They were more advanced and used plastic strips (for semi-autos) and rings (for revolvers) of caps and came in a variety of more modern styles. I am pretty sure that my first magazine-fed gun was an Edison.

It took about 90 days for ours to become completely comfortable, it's obvious when they take mental ownership of you, your family, home and property. It is awesome how she walks with you. Thanks for saving a lost one!

Just a quick update. "Katy" was pretty much hands-off for five or six weeks. But in the last week she's decided that she wants to be petted pretty darned often. She sticks right to my side on our walks in the woods, and pushes her wet nose into my hand every ten steps or so. She's figured out that her kennel and house are hers, and she'll go in there whenever she wants a break. I fly model airplanes and helicopters, and she REALLY wants to eat one, but so far she's respected my "no's" on that. She's still lean but one can no longer see her ribs and spine sticking up, and the flea collar has done wonders for her biting and scratching. Off to the spay clinic as soon as I can get an appointment, and she's due for a full set of shots. But I guess she's family now and we'll do what we can for her.

It's a legal system, not a justice system. You get all the justice you can afford. Sad but true. All the more motivation to not get into that mess to begin with.

If I owned that & carried it, I'd feel obligated to go around saying, "Just the facts, ma'am, just the facts." LOL! For those whom may not know, these guns are capable of surprising accuracy.
