  1. This isn’t a function unique to the right. Our current partisan system rewards ever increasing extremism. Both sides have gone insane. A pox on all their houses.

  3. So did some trading around and ended up with a bucket list rifle gor me. Winchester 1886 .45-70. 24" barrel, full length mag tube, unfired in the orginal box. I am not much on safe queens so Ive got to decide to either shoot it or sell it off and buy one used that I will shoot. Anyway, wanted to share.

  4. Sadly, the victim mentality that pervades populism pretty much assures that sooner or later pretty much everyone will find themselves the enemy. It's confusing at first. And, it's an awfully lonely place to find oneself. You get over it though.

  5. This may sound amusing coming from your local anarchist, but seeing as you’re retired at quite a young age, get involved in your local government. If this is your inroad, make it a good one. But these are the people who have the most influence over your life. Way more than any of those assholes in Washington or Nashville. These are the places where you can possibly provide influence to help keep where you live just a little bit freer. Get at it and make a difference.

  11. https://www.maconcountychronicle.com/news/1159-wheel-tax-to-increase-meeks-resigns I found out what not to do. You don't write a warrant for a woman breaking into her own house. You'll probably remember Ralph. He was the game warden when we were kids.

  12. I was going to go today, but it was rather windy here. I don't like hunting in the wind. I've already put up one my son killed, and the two I killed. I'd like to get one more to make summer sausage. Maybe try some bologna or pepperoni too. Other than that, the freezer is about full.

  19. I vaguely remember Meeks. I can relate to being arrested for breaking into your own house too. In Macon Co. at that. Being taken into booking is another tale that would get a sympathetic deputy fired. I will only say there was only one person in the jail that night who was armed.

  20. res308's post covered it pretty well, as to what you do. We only had 2 commissioners, 1 full time, 1 pt. time. Part time usually got the short end of the hours stick. Likely, Macon being larger & larger case load, there may be more help. Find out how that works there. Not being familiar with Macon, not much more I can add. Sorry I can't be of more help.

  21. If it’s during business hours when the courthouse is open, we go there to get an arrest warrant drawn up. As a judicial commissioner you’d be the one being called out at all hours of the night, through the wee hours of the morning, up until the courthouse opens, to draw up the arrest warrants, including all weekend. I know somebody’s gotta do it, but I never figured out why anyone “wants” to do it. ETA: (In response to the question about the hours.)

  22. I remember warden Meeks, been quite a while. As for Judicial Commissioner, I was asked by Judge Linville if I would be interested in the job. I declined, due the hours required at times. Having worked as a Corrections officer at the jail, I was familiar with the all hours aspect. Not for me. Think it over well, do what you believe best. Wish you the best.

  27. I used that particular sight since it had a variety of information that pulls from the general idea of what is going on in India. But really, do your own research and not just by going to those ass a nine fact check sights. gezzz thats so childish for the masses to swallow BS guiding the lemmings down their pre planed path to a great view of the ocean. There is ALOT of specific details on India's use of Ivermectin and how their own Gov fought its inclusion even to the point the home issued kits were sent out with only 3mg tablets to prove it wouldnt work to the people who advocated its use. Now, is this all true? maybe.... but certainly enough going on to dig deeper if one is so inclined. I guess all these basic vids are all BS but good for ha haa's india ivermectin - YouTube

  33. So can we assume that right now you have no reloading gear at all? The place to begin is to purchase a good reloading manual. They all include instructions on reloading, and will give you a good idea of what you need to start. You don't need to invest a whole lot of money to begin, but be warned, you can spend a butt-load of money if you're so inclined. Right now is a tough time to begin reloading, as components are harder to get than they have been in the past. But components are out there. I live about an hour from Oliver Springs, but if you want to come this far I can give you a demo of loading both 45-70 and 44 Mag.

  37. I knew my dad had been building this rifle, but to my surprise, he came by today and gave it to me for my birthday. It is a 25-06. I haven't yet shot it. What I was wondering is whether any of you have seen a cherry rifle stock. It looks much better than I would have guessed. He made it from a piece of rough sawn lumber. It must have taken forever to inlet.

  40. First, welcome to TGO. Its a federal law (not state) that restricts you purchasing from an FFL. However, you may purchase from a private individual from your state as long as you are legally allowed to own a handgun. https://www.atf.gov/questions-and-answers/qa/may-individual-between-ages-18-and-21-years-age-acquire-handgun-unlicensed As to legally carrying on the person unless you are active or discharged military you are restricted until 21. https://www.usconcealedcarry.com/resources/ccw_reciprocity_map/tn-gun-laws/ I would like to state I am NOT a lawyer and if these laws have changed then greater TGO minds will chime in to correct me WARNING Handguns are addictive and you may find yourself unsatisfied with just owning 1 .

  41. Thanks guys. It is special to me. Now to see if Smiling Larry will send me some brass and dies, since this is a new chambering for me. I think I have enough bullets to shoot the barrel out. He'll be 79 this year, but still does some nice work.

  43. I personally like: 1. S2R Batton II for everyday carry. It's small, light, flexible but functions like a fullsize. (3rd from left) 2. The H2R Nova - basically the same as the S2R Batton II but has a right angle head and a head band. Best headlamp I've ever used and I love that I can take it off the headband and clip it on a shirt pocket, belt etc and use it hands free. 3. M2R Warrior Pro - the one I don't have, but would love to have on my go to rifle. Great full-size light, yet still a compact body and you can add the remote tailpiece (4th from the left).I'd also love to have that Seeker 2! I also really like my PL2 Mini on my G19. Super compact but super bright. Buttons are easy to work and intuitive while keeping it simple. Awesome handgun/weapon light.
