At this point I’m up for a press conference from Covid where it will detail its plans to protect us from government.3 points

All true. I would also add it could fire were it cocked & fell off of said table onto a hard surface, enough for it to jar the sear loose. Obviously it would have to be cocked given the hammer. Baldwin thinks everyone is going to be enamored enough of his fame to give him a pass & believe his BS. He'll soon learn he's not in NYC nor LA. People in fly-over country don't give a fat furry rat's behind about either his fame nor his lies. I hope he ends up bankrupt, convicted & has nightmares every night for the rest of his life. He is the epitome of what's wrong with Hollyweird & a poster child for liberal eliteness.3 points

If the info in that article is true then they deserve every charge. They should have sought mental help for their son and instead bought a handgun.3 points

Zero deaths reported from omicron on the news today. ho hummm..... Oh, as for Zero Hedge? Its one of some dozen different various sights that put the PDF letter out. Zero Hedge Didn't write it. I never pulled that sight up before but the PDF content is in fact the same as the other sights. So who gives a rats ass who floats it? Funny how some folks put an invisible turnakit around their info sources yet the ones they may use package it more appealingly. When really, its the same crap, different stink. Like I all ways said, you have to dig threw a pile of ####e to find a seed of truth. In the end, with a discriminating, yet unbias ability to discern various points of view, you just might hit some form of jack pot in this manure business call mass media.3 points

The ones living in fear have probably taken the shot and are realizing they could still get sick.2 points

Nope, I don't need any psychological help, why do they think we need our brains messed with because we don't want their crappy shot?2 points

At first glance charging the parents concerned me as a step towards losing a little more of our already weakened 2ndA. If the charges are they encouraged and provided a gun and to a kid that was showing obvious signs of a mass shooter, resulting in death, then I'm OK with it. If the charges are they had an unsecure gun that the kid took then I'm not OK with it. It's a very slippery slope that could morph into laws penalizing an owner who's gun was stolen. Or mandatory safe laws leading to inspections, registration and the rest of it. Saying that if what we hear is true... The unique actions and inactions of these parents compared to most of the usual mass killers parents we hear about warrants punishment.2 points

When I purchased my M1A I chose the synthetic stock due to weather considerations. After a few years I replaced it with a wood stock. The weather extremes that affect the wood also affected me as I got older.2 points

I respectfully disagree (though we may be debating semantics).... Lying on the table, it is an inert chunk of metal. It will not spontaneously throw a bullet. Someone had to handle the inert metal object, insert at least one round into it, and hold/handle/manipulate said loaded metal chunk, thereby causing the above sequence of events with the hammer/sear. If it sat there on the table unmolested, I would be my life it will not spontaneously 'go off'. Human actions had to take place for that bullet to fire. That is the guilty party IMO. Basic gun safety rules were violated.2 points

Yep, as I've said before; chemotherapy is a double-edged sword. Most of the times it kill cancer cells. sometimes other tissues as well. Chemo drugs within the last 8-10 years have been accepted by our cocs as a cause for neuropathy. Mine, in 08/09, told me it couldn't happen. Next year the medical community decided the drugs were likely the cause of so many patients getting neuropathy issues. Mine started slow, and now are at a pretty high level. Gabapentin is a first stage joke. Doesn't help much. I was on 3600 mg per day and was ready to be bumped up until I asked for something different. Pregambolin/Lyrica was and as far as I know still the next level pain drug for the neuropathy symptoms. I've been on it for almost 3 years and it does help. Not a cure, but it does help. Tramadol is the next stage, according to my medical staff. LOL! Yeah, you guys in our situation will understand that line. I have taken some Tramadol, but not on a daily basis. It helps, but again, it's not a curative. Just masks the pain. Now about the CBD cremes...I use one produced locally for athritis in my hands. It works. That's all I can say. I have used it for knee pains as well, before and after knee replacements. Again, it worked there as well. Better than some of the custom pharmacy mixes and at a third the cost. I'm getting a stronger mix next time to try on the foot pains. Been using 1000 and 1600 mg mix for the arthritis. But going for the 2000 for my feet. DJTC45, I'm there with you on the foot pains. Slightly different though. Lack of sensation. Horrible balance. Can't easily walk on an uneven surface. The once satorial use cane is now a must. Provides a trpod balance for me. The pains are sharp. Searing, lightning bolts as I call them. In the heels and thru the ankles and insteps. Thankfully not constant, but frequency is increasing. Swelling and tenderness, can't seem to get a comfortable sock or shoe. Using the diabetic socks now. They help. Hard sole shoes work best for me. My beloved New Balance walkers and running shoes are for short term wear only. Like around the house. I find myself really missing walking. Always thought we'd start long walks and travel. Life sure does get interesting in the curves we get. Never thought that 3 years would make such a difference. Gone up almost 2 shoe sizes now. And the 4E width is a must. Anything less is torture from the get-go. Wish I could offer more insight to our problems fellows, but that's all I got. Prayers for us all.2 points

We're buying a house near Ridgetop soon and I got to wondering if there are any outdoor ranges nearby. Rather not make the hour plus drive to Southside. Y'all know anything?1 point

The parents are culpable to a degree without a doubt. They bought a 15 year old kid with issues a pistol. I don’t know Michigan law but it seems they are going to make a statement here. It’s old-fashioned thinking these days but parents are, or should be, held accountable for their minor children’s actions. The world would be a much better place if we went back to that.1 point

Yeah, I went out to the garage today & looked at mine. Yours is a LOT bigger than mine (that's what SHE said! LOL!). Two healthy, strapping young men could do it though. An old fart like me though, no way.1 point

Even with concrete confirmation, I can’t morally justify killing someone after the immediate moment of danger has passed, nor the state having the discretionary power of life and death over the citizenry. Lethal force as self defense in the moment to protect life and liberty is one thing. Taking someone who is safely separated from society and then killing them fails the basic tests of morality even if the system were able to perfectly assign guilt 100% of the time. Something that is an impossibility based on the involvement of people in designing and operating that system.1 point

I’ve been against the death penalty for years for multiple reasons. The experience isn’t that new and my statements were directed specifically at Binger and Krause. I’ve long understood that prosecutorial misconduct is much more common that folks like to admit. This was just a glaring and blatant example.1 point

Even if the sear did slip, the half cock notch should have caught the hammer if the trigger was at rest. That notch is much bigger than the sear and designed to stop the hammer fall unless the trigger is pulled. I, too, would very much like to have a competent gunsmith examine the gun and see what his report is.1 point
-
Actually, they can. Any gun with a hammer & sear combo can have the hammer fall due to the sear not doing its job. If a gun is old, for example, it may have a well-worn sear. Another example is the 1911 hammer/sear kits that so many owners use in building their own 1911. They keep stoning the sear, trying to get it as smooth & light as possible. Eventually, they simply remove too much metal. George Patton almost had his military career ruined over this. As a butterball 2nd Lt he performed a "trigger job" on his 1911. He then took it to the range to test fire it & the thing ran full auto! Somehow he dodged a court martial, probably intervention by a higher up. Short story long, a modern, well-kept handgun that's not been monkeyed with will in no way "fire on its own". Any half-assed DA should have the gun tested as well as examined by a top notch gunsmith to ensure it's functioning as it should. Baldwin is nothing more than a #### weasel liar. Always has been, for that matter.1 point

Do your diligence before you mess with D8. Look at the process used to make it and decide if that is right for you. Personally, I don't want to put anything in my body that is made by soaking a natural product in acid to turn it into something else. In my opinion the only benefit of D8 over regular marijuana is that I can walk into any "CBD shop" and get all the D8 I want.1 point

I would try a good chiropractor and licensed massage therapist. Loosen the muscles and free up the pinched nerve.1 point

I use a topical pain lotion compounded by a pharmacy in Smyrna. The lotion contains Ketamine, Lidocaine, and Pentocaine. The plus side is that since it is topical then the drugs do not get into your blood system like oral medications; however, you can still overdose if you try hard enough. You must first search for a compounding pharmacy in your area, (unless you want to drive to Smyrna. Then get your PCP to call in the prescription. Insurance does NOT pay for it, and cash price is around $275 IIRC, but it's 4 bottles that I only use maybe 1 per year. I use it locally and along my spine to block pain at the spine. The stuff doesn't reach too deep although it helps my shoulder out when it's hurting. It really knocks out pain in my hands and wrists. A friend of mine uses it for upper back and neck pain and loves it. I hope this helps, but you need to get off the NSAIDs. They are NOT doing your kidneys any good.1 point

I feel your hurt. I've been on Chemotherapy Treatments for a year now and I developed numbness in my hands and feet due to the side effects from my treatment. My hands sometimes are buzzy or feel thick and I get a burning feeling in the tips of my fingers and it sometimes keeps me from doing any small tack. My feet are numb but they don't have the burning sensation like my hands do, and the skin on my hands peel sometimes and crack. It's hard to bend my fingers sometimes. I to took the Gabapentin 300mg four times a day but I quit it due to it combined with my other meds that for a week straight I would literally pass out two or three times a day during that week, so I quit it. I really don't know what to tell you to use for the pain, so far I've learned to just live with it for now, but it sucks. If you find something that works for you please PM me and tell me about it. Good luck sir.1 point

I hunt, almost exclusively, with walnut and blued steel. I maintain my firearms, and am not dedicated enough to tough out a prolonged rainstorm. I have never had any issue that would have been solved with stainless steel or polymer.1 point

https://ammunitionstore.com/?mc_cid=5cd0a64354&mc_eid=0a36fe4b37 I don't think I've ever ordered from these folks, but they send me e-mail solicitations pretty regularly. It looks like they're offering some okay deals on common ammo, including 380 which seems to be tough to find these days. I was at my local Rural King this afternoon and they had quite a bit of various ammo in-stock, including .22, 223, 380, and 9mm. I reload almost all my ammo, so the prices didn't tempt me at all, but it was nice to see ammo on the shelves again. I've had some luck finding bullets and powder, but primers are still unobtainable for the price I'm willing to pay. I am encouraged, though, and hope that ammo and components are slowly making their way back to the shelves.1 point

I mentioned this before but when it comes to actual fake news it seems to be more prevalent on right wing websites. I'm not talking about biased news we see on liberal outlets either. I also don't trust those sites at all from a privacy and security standpoint. If I see zero hedge I won't even open it anymore.1 point

Zero Hedge is a Bulgarian conspiracy site with a low reliability rating. Check them out before you place much faith in anything they post. Cheers, Whisper1 point

Indeed. There are many unexpected blessings to growing older. With all of my kids now grown and out of the house, I am secure in the knowledge I will never again have to visit a theme park, and will never have to watch another Disney animated movie. Cheers, Whisper1 point

Yep, it's a Ruger PCC. They aren't very loud. Also -- when someone confronts you holding a rifle, shouting "Use it, mother####er" is probably not the most effective de-escalation technique.1 point
