  1. Don’t blame Brownell’s. If I’m not mistaken Tennessee was a leader in getting online sales taxes enacted.

  5. Two partially full boxes of 30-06 hunting ammo available, I think 10 rounds in one and 16 rounds in the other. Nosler tipped in one box and soft points in the other, Federal and Sellier&Bellot brand. Recently someone helped me partially fill my freezer with deer they didn't need. Happy to pass this along to someone who needs some ammo for their hunting. Located in South Nashville/Brentwood area

  10. In typical News Media fashion. the outraged citizen they interviewed is butt ugly and has the I.Q. of a crayon. I like it! I don't even like Glocks, but I may buy a ticket or two just because I think its a good thing.

  11. Didn't see this posted. LAPD has chosen the FN 509 MRD-LE as their new handgun of choice. I believe they went with the non-optic mounted version but they do have the optic plate on the slide. Pic below. As a FN fan myself, I'm happy for them to beat out Glock.

  13. https://www.fox13memphis.com/news/local/gun-raffle-memory-fallen-officer-by-memphis-police-association-gets-mixed-reviews/G6CMFFXKJ5G5XCET5X3REHBHDE/ November 03, 2021 at 8:50 pm CDT By FOX13Memphis.com News Staff MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A gun raffle in memory of an officer who died in the line of duty is getting mixed reviews from the public. The Memphis Police Association is auctioning off one of more than 20 semi-automatic weapons in the memory of Scotty Triplett, a Memphis Police Department officer who died in May in a crash. Triplett was on his motorcycle escorting a group of nearly 200 riders known as Sligshot of Memphis when the crash happened. Now, the Memphis Police Association is holding a raffle in order to donate the proceeds to Triplett’s family. Tickets can be purchased for $10, or five tickets for $40, at 638 Jefferson Ave. or by contacting 901-523-7075. On December 3, one winner will be drawn and have the option to pick one of the following Glock Pistols (Models: G17, Gen5, G19, G19 Gen5, G23, G23 Gen5, G26 Gen3, G26 Gen5, G27, G27 Gen5, G31, G31 Gen4, G32, G32 Gen4, G33, G44 Gen4, G37, G37 Gen4, G38, G39, G42, G43, G43X, G44, G45 or G48), according to the Memphis Police Association. The fact that another gun is being put on the street, however, during a year where Memphis is once again on pace to break its homicide record, causes concern for some citizens like Dee Dee Brown. Brown said that the cause is admirable, but thinks there could be a better way to support the fallen officer’s family. “What the (heck) you going to raffle a gun for?” Brown said. “Why you want to raffle a gun so somebody can get killed with it? He’s already a fallen officer. They need to give him some money, some trust funds, stuff like that. Pay for his funeral and stuff.” The gun raffle will come less than a month after the Memphis Police Department holds an event to try and get guns off the street. Groceries or Gas for Guns takes place Nov. 13 and MPD will be handing out $50 or $100 Kroger gift cards to people who trade in unwanted handguns or assault rifles. The Glock, however, is known to be a very safe gun and could remain so if in the hands of someone trained in gun safety. Jonathan Cross with Tactical Training Centers said whoever does walk away with the new Glock should know these three things. “Treat every gun as if it’s loaded,” Cross said. “Number 2 never point the gun at anything you’re not willing to destroy. The third rule of firearm safety is to keep your fingers straight and off the trigger until the sights are on target.” FOX13 reached out to the Memphis Police Association to talk about the gun raffle, but they declined.

  25. Do as we say....NOT as we do. I dont miss that place in the least! Actually its more of a defacto ban in that they added a requirement that for new roster adds to have microstamping of cases (for most pistols), the exorbitant testing fee was more smoke and mirrors to detract from what was really going on. Adding a tech they knew did not exist and their advisors told them (at the time) would not really be feasible anytime in the near future. Ca typical and obvious long game march to ban all firearms eventually, like the AW ban. Though instead of no longer allowing a gun to pass hands and dying with the owner, they relied on manufacturers to stop making legacy models in the hope one day the entire roster would not be in production. CA loved companies like Glock. Glock just said, no, we can keep cranking out the Gen 3 along with whatever Gen we are on. We love those CA dollars. Great to see some move for the FN. I like my 509 quite a bit.

  27. I was lucky enough to receive from the CMP a service grade, all matching 1945 Colt 1911A1. The slide and frame finish matches correctly and all the internals are correct for the year. I wanted to give the CMP a big shout out from one who collects U.S. military. For those of you who want a piece of our military history, check out the CMP website. The minute this .45 touched my hands the price doubled or tripled. You cant beat that anywhere I know of. After I pass I’d love to be a fly on the wall watching the fight from my nephews as to get this weapon.

  29. I do, but I generally don't use it when I'm working up a load that's within normal parameters. I use it once I've found a load, but it's a magnetospeed & I don't want it throwing off my groups during testing.

  30. Glock donated the gun, according to the video. BTW, there is no gun; the winner will receive a certificate that entitles them to one of the guns mentioned. For an additional $55 (or whatever), the winner can upgrade to an MOS. For an additional $108, the winner can upgrade to a 40/41 etc. For an additional $175, the winner can upgrade to a gen 5 34 MOS and so on. I made up the upgrade fees, but you get the picture. Glock will ship the gun to the winner’s FFL in a month or eight (depending on what flavor the winner chooses). I don’t know any of this for sure, but I bet lunch I’m right. This is the same process that many shooting matches use for prize guns.

  31. Another gun “is going to be put on the street” whether MPA raffles it or not. I was at a sanctioned IDPA match across the river this weekend and bought raffle tickets for a gun I didn’t want after one of the female shooters helping run the match made a last round with the raffle bucket (she changed my mind). The last thing I need is another Glock, but I may have to buy a few tickets.

  43. Mechanical Engineer by training. Became a Machinist by trade. Made everything from tools for brain surgery to M2 Brownings. 12 hour days on concrete floors turning vise handles had their way with my joints and I got put on light duty for a while. That got me sucked into the world of ISO 9001/13485, MDSAP, and FDA CFR Title 21 part 820. Took roles from Quality Engineer to Quality Manager for a few organizations. Spent several years in Med Device and several years more in Tier 1 and Tier 2 Automotive. Current role is in the firearms industry dealing with our suppliers in both a product engineering and quality engineering capacity.

  44. If they made voting as hard as buying a gun in NY/CA/IL, etc, the liberals would be rioting in the streets 7/24, IMO. I miss shows like Point/Counterpoint where they allowed two different perspectives to be defended as well as attacked. I'm betting libtards got weary of having their ass handed to them in debate.

  46. Electrical Engineer by education. Used that degree to walk across a platform and get the paper. I've done industrial automation, low-voltage wiring plant design and installation, and all manner of IT work from small-shop to mega corporation. These days I manage a bunch of engineers in an information security role who can still remember all of the stuff I've forgotten about or who are infinitely smarter and more talented than I ever was. One of these days I'll figure out a way to kick the cheese habit and then I won't give a damn who's moved it or where.
