You know the biggest tragedy is that he didn't just cap himself. There I said it.6 points

Just passed 10 years in various supply chain/logistics/transportation jobs. 3 weeks ago I started a new job working for one of the nations largest truckload carriers as an account manager. It's a very interesting time to work in transportation. The back up at ports, shippers and customers is quite a mess. Trucking isn't sexy but it's fairly recession proof.4 points

30 years with TDOT as an inspector for an engineering field office. I’d get a set of plans, contract, and the low bidder, and we’d go build the road/bridge/whatever. Got my first pension check today.4 points

Retired machinist , machine builder/designer. Always did some side work construction to motorcycle repair and building, could never sit still. Started making knives about 16 years ago (part time). Now I'm finishing up our house and setting up my shop, good times!3 points

I am retired USN. I was an Aviation Machinist Mate where I was relegated to turning wrenches on helicopters. I wanted to go fixed wing and in typical Navy fashion never got the opportunity. I retired in 05 and became a Dad in 06 and have been the house husband/stay at home Dad ever since.3 points

I always wonder why they need to know sex and race on the form at all. Seems like profiling. Of course I also wonder why we need the form at all, especially for those of us that already went through background checks to get a carry permit.3 points

Hahahaahahaahahhahahaahahhahaaaaaa.... ahhhhh... Mine is an intact male, I hear females are slightly less so, but... Mal's are alpha dogs. They won't play ball with other dogs. They will get the ball. The ball belongs to the Malinois. They will terrorize and bully the other dogs if they even think about trying to get the Mal's ball. They can have their own ball, if the Mal approves, but if it likes their ball better, it is now the Mal's new ball, and they may have the old ball; unless it likes that one better... And to be honest, they're so fast... good luck beating the Mal to the ball!3 points

WOW. I understand COVID is everyone’s new crutch. It is theft. It is theft crossing state lines. But even better it is theft by fraud, mail fraud. Call your post master for guidance. They have a law enforcement division. Might even get the feds involved (ATF). Or, we can make a road trip. I’m already packed. Just say when. Think you need to post who they are to protect your brothers here. I’m retired and have nothing better to do than email and make phone calls at all times of the day and night. I’m a night owl and am up at some ungodly hours.2 points

This is where the rookie female armorer failed miserably. A locking bag or range bag would've prevented all of this BS, IMO. All guns should've been under her control from her home to the set to the actor's hands. She failed all three of these criterion. Todays news: News Story So there was indeed live rds found on the set. She failed that part horribly. She failed to control the guns 24/7 & one got loaded with a live rd. She failed that part miserably. If the crew were playing with the gins, using live ammo or blanks (doesn't matter), then she had no control over the guns. She failed miserably again. "Rushed conditions" or not, the guns should've been under her physical control until she handed the gun to Baldwin, NOT having the Asst Director handing him the gun. This was her final & worst failing, IMO. I agree that multiple people should have felony convictions from this goat screw.2 points

ER nurse for 20 years then went into correctional nursing. Loved the ER but got fed up with the politics. Spent more time convincing patients that we are doing an “Excellent “ job instead of actually doing an excellent job. Correctional nursing is way better. Don’t care if they liked their service or the decisions made. Retired now (I think) seem to work harder now then when I was nursing. Farm life and wood working now.2 points

Twenty-Five years in Law Enforcement (retired) then transitioned to another primary occupation that I plan to retire from in about three more years. I have had secondary ventures in auto restoration, construction, fabrication as intense hobbies.2 points

Loss prevention/security for one of the major shippers. I investigate theft, fraud, workplace violence, people fudging their timecard, supervise facility security, keep TSA/FAA/DOT happy, and keep us off the news.2 points

21 years in the Army, retired then 17 as a Logistician, first running three military aviation units as their property manager (Supply guy), 1 year working for John Deere, then back to the same contract issuing flight gear, and now managing their fuel accounts. Come Dec 8, I guess I'll be retired again, but may just pickup a hobby job somewhere else for a company with less than 100 workers.2 points

Worked in the banking industry for close to 30 yrs, did most everything except make a loan. Got fed up with the BS in that field, and started working the hourly shift work. Retired around 2014 or so, like retirement much better.2 points

Dogs. I board & groom them. When I'm not swearing at employees..... In my off time, I also process & butcher deer for folks. I'll take hogs too, both domestic & wild but I'm not a butcher or pro processor. It's just a winter side hustle.2 points

I don't have a problem with gay people. I've know both gay men and women in my time and frankly its never been a problem What does bother me is these non-binary azzholes who want to make a big deal out of of it and expect special treatment or consideration for it. Being different does NOT make you special. If you aren't sure, take a quick peak in your pants, mark the appropriate box and STFU.2 points

Please don't. There are too many dogs in this world as it is that can't be taken care of. Breeding mutts to make a few bucks is a poor choice. You may not like to think of yourself as a puppy mill, but responsible breeders don't buy random dogs and say "I can breed this with whatever I have". Be more responsible than that.2 points

Wife and I are 73 and got our boosters 10 days ago. She wears her mask when ever she goes in anywhere. I put it on if required or the majority of those in the building have a mask. I don't think masks do much to protect me or anyone else, she things it does. I don't want to rock the boat or start a fight over a mask.2 points

Fully vaccinated (58), but on the fence with the booster. I'm beginning to see this as a big money grab, by Phizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson. I understand that the CDC is looking at authorizing a second booster for those that are immune compromised. I've seen no other country looking at a second booster, but us. The thing that will probably push me to get the booster is my mom (79) has pancreatic cancer. She has surgery on the 8th. Then will undergo 6 more months of chemo. Her immune system will be shot. So in order to be around her, I will probably get the booster.2 points

When this “pursuit of happiness” involves mentally ill men wanting to play sports against and share locker rooms with girls, it infringes upon others.2 points

Well, one if the three should technically be prohibitive as it is functionally equivalent to answering yes to question 11f regarding being adjudicated as mentally defective.2 points

We have a wide range of people on this site. Sometimes I'm surprised at the specialized knowledge that comes out in a post. So I was wondering, what do you do/did for a living? What is/was your job? I'm retired now, but I was a mechanic for 42 years. My specialty was trucks and equipment. I've worked on everything from weed eaters to heavy earth movers. Pick ups, tractor trailers, fire trucks and even garbage trucks. I can cut, weld and work metal and have fabricated a number of special projects in my time. I can fix anything from the break of day to a broken heart. I spent the last 25 years of my career working for the small city I live in and finally retired from there in 2014. So what do you do?1 point

First time my daughter shot a handgun. She shot one of my S&W Victory 22s and also my Glock 45. I think she did awesome for her first time. She listened and applied the shooting techniques i told her. She only missed once, and that was at the smaller number 2 target area in the upper right. I reckon she stopped this bad guy!1 point

I play with computers all day or at least what everyone thinks IT people do. Since college I have worked in a mortgage company, sold vacuums door to door, worked in call centers, been the entire IT department for a 67 million dollar construction company for a decade, and now work in the financial sector managing a bunch of different software.1 point

I would love to get her life back in exchange for a video of Alec Baldwin shooting himself in the ass.1 point

Well as much as I dislike Alec Baldwin because of how he treats people in general I am sorry that this incident too place at all and a young mother and wife died and director was injured but I still don't think this should just get a pass without someone or more than one person be found guilty of something and have to pay for what happened......JMHO1 point

A lot of “fixed incomes” here on the forum. I’m probably going to find something to do after deer season passes. My wife works from home. I expect I’ll wear pretty thin on her before winter is over.1 point

I am 73, immune compromised, have agent orange poisoning from year in Nam(Danang), heart disease (bypass), and diabetes, and may I say am truly lucky to be alive. I took the booster and will take a flue shot next month. Don't have a problem with it nor the ones who don't want to take shots. After all this is America. Kinda like religion, I got that too, but that is one's choice also. For me, Jesus the Christ takes good care of my dying part for me. I have a blessed life. Hope you guys feel the same way too. IMHO, religion is the most important part of my life. YMMV!1 point

It’s probably best you don’t know. I googled it and it’s ridiculous. Might have to pull out some real, printed dictionaries this weekend to see what it used to mean.1 point

Fully vaccinated and boosted. I wear a mask when required and I try not to push my luck. I am 100% convinced at this point, if your mind is made up pro or con, no one is going to change it. Best wishes to you all!1 point

Like I said in another thread, a biophysicist who specializes in viruses told me that trying to stop viruses with a mask is like trying to stop mosquitoes with a chain link fence. He also said that a mask that would be effective against something as tiny as a virus would suffocate you. Makes sense to me, but we do what we gotta do.....mostly.1 point

No shot, no booster, no mask. I'm guessing I'm probably younger than you guys though and lower risk. I also don't do Flu shots.1 point

It seems all you care about is what you can breed for puppies and sell them. You talk about breeding two different dogs for puppies. Puppy mills come in all sizes.1 point
