  2. Yeah, I've got a feeling this just might be the gun's fault. They are very well known to aim and fire themselves! lol

  3. UPDATE; Hornady has walked back the mandatory vax saying they only meant to announce that they are making it available on site. from report by "GUNS AND GADGETS" on utoob.

  4. From what I have read on the web, so it has to be true, even when using blanks guns are not to be pointed at people or equipment. They normally have a dummy to point at so that everyone knows where the actor will be pointing. This seems to make sense so the cameras can be set up and they get the shot they are looking for,( pun intended). If I am pulling the trigger I will make dang sure what is going to be coming out the barrel regardless who hands me the firearm. If my finger is on the trigger its on me.

  6. True. I like Westerns, but Baldwin belongs in a Western, like I belong in the cockpit of 747.

  7. YOU WANT TO GET A WHAAT?? My brother had a Malinois he was a great dog his name was Frity but everyone called him Gator (from afar). He is very serious about working the dog. Dog was very smart did whatever my brother told him to do. All his commands were in Chinese, my brother is Irish. The problem was when he was not around. Bit the neighbors kid twice, (kid teased the dog) would go after just about anyone that came to the compound . He did love to play with my Mastiff, they knew each other since puppies. When he tired her out she would sit on him to make him stop.

  8. What gets me is the average American that likes Westerns, does not like Baldwin.

  9. He thinks it perfectly fine for him to have a gun, but you shouldn’t have one. He is also idolized and his opinion carries great weight with a large percentage of Americans. To me, this is much more scary than his gun safety record.

  10. Being on the set with a bunch of untrained Hollywood elites and real guns has to be terrifying. I can only imagine their gun handling habits. I hate to say it, but many law-abiding gunowners' gun handling/safety skills are atrocious. I often observe strangers routinely violating Cooper's rules. I compete in a sport that disqualifies you if you allow your muzzle to point past an imaginary 180 line that is parallel to the forward berm, so maybe I am biased. I would hate to imagine Baldwin's gun handling skills.

  11. I’ve yet to hear anyone come out and say they were actually filming a scene at the time of the shooting. I imagine he was just waving it around and acting like the tool he is. The photos showing him having his fit afterward has him wearing a blue t shirt. I seriously doubt this was a costume for a western movie.

  12. Well I guess I'll have to buy a new phone. I actually have no idea how many Gs my phone is, but its old. Mine actually gives a message "Phone Storage Is Low". My son looked at it and best he can figure is that the phone is so old that all the updates it automatically does has taken up most of the memory. Yeah, I'm technologically challenged.

  13. A few points: 1. Involuntary manslaughter in New Mexico is a 4th degree felony, with maximum punishments of $5000 fine and/or 18 months in prison. So it's treated more like a big misdemeanor. (4 states treat involuntary manslaughter as a misdemeanor, and 2 other states can go either way. ) 2. With regard to an earlier post, this movie wasn't being shot in NM for the scenery. It's for the NM tax break for movies. Over $650 million has been spent in NM ytd, or last year; the item I saw on that wasn't clear which. 3. The real "justice" will be in the civil law settlements. Everyone (that counts) knows that!

  15. I pick up a gun at a gun show and point it at someone and pull the trigger and the gun fires and kills the person, 3 guesses who is going to jail, first 2 guesses do not count. Same same here, it is the person holding the firearm when it goes bang that is responsible.

  16. I'm thinking more and more that the assistant director will be the fall guy. I've seen numerous references that he took the gun from the cart. Yet, other than who she is and her inexperience, there hasn't been one reference saying the armorer gave him the gun or even knew he took it. Was she even there? As I see it, Her only fault was not keeping better control over the guns. Last I heard, the Sheriff and DA have a press conference scheduled for tomorrow. Maybe they'll clear up this mess then.

  17. Fact Check: Wife got vax. Wife got Covid. Wife was very sick. I didn't get vax. I got covid. I didn't get very sick, Vax does not prevent infection. Vax does not guarantee survival, Vax needs "booster". Mrs is back to work finally. I work from home and never missed a day, Yes, mandates infringe on your right of free choice by definition. I am smart enough to ask my doctor about what I do or do not need, Thanks for calling me stupid for being able to think. I am not disappointed either.

  19. Several outlets are reporting that Hornady manufacturing has issued a letter requiring employees to be vaccinated. A copy of a letter from Steve Hornady states they will have to be fully vaxed by November 10 to keep their jobs. Sad that gun manufacturers are bowing to these over-reaching mandates. the truth is government contracts are worded exactly and any changes supposedly would call for a re-bid process. By adding requirements, the government would be in breach of contract. If companies stand their ground they would not lose the business or could sue for losses. The tyranny is real. When you threaten people's livelihood what else can we call it? Claim: Ammo Maker Hornady to Enforce Worker Vaccine Mandate - En Bloc Press

  23. Spoke to my personal LGS owner today. He said he has several on order, no clue when they might arrive. I reserved one for myself. I bet this thing takes off like the P365 did for Sig.

  24. The person you describe would likely be called the grip. That is likely who lived but was injured. I believe the deceased is the lady in the poof jacket with headphones on.

  25. Not according to the media. A hood rat is a "child" for many, many years past 18. Especially when one is shot by a cop while committing a serious crime.

  27. We’ve got some friends with a King Charles Spaniel. It’s hands down the most laid back dog I’ve ever met. It’s good with kids. Good with strangers and other dogs. Perfectly content to just come sit beside you.

  28. I have to agree with what has been said about the mals. High energy and high maintenance. I am very partial to Boxers, I have had them all my life. I have had and do have other breeds as well but Boxer are like family members and a huge source of entertainment by nature they are comical. Yet, they are protective of home and family by nature. Short haired, lay by the recliner but always ready to play ball. Great with kids, especially if they are around kids as pups or young. I could go on but like I said, I am partial.

  29. He may be idolized by the non-Trumper's but if you ask plain people in New York city about him personally they don't like him. He treats many folks like crap in that city and has made a lot of enemies there. He has been in the news often about his treatment of people just walking down the street. if they don't move over when he is walking in their direction and he explodes with his super attitude!

  31. I think his gun safety record is in the minus column after last Thursday and he is one of the do say as I say not as I do crowd which I think he will get booted out of that group also. The DA is considering filing criminal charges but did not say at who? Might be a couple people before it's over.........JMHO

  32. According to ABC news this was a still taken moments before the fatal incident. They said the deceased can be seen in the foreground which I assume is the one on the left operating the camera rig.

  33. I've already checked with my LGS and they don't have any or know when they will. No luck on-line either. There are two gun shows near me next month. I'll look, but don't have high hopes. My guess is they won't be readily available for several months. But I will buy the first one I find.

  34. I've never been a big fan of Rottweilers, there's lots of other larger dog options that'll be way easier to manage than a Mal. I also don't think it would be a good mix with your smaller dogs. They might be thought of as snacks. We have a lab mix and he's a pretty good dog. We got him from friends who's dog had puppies unexpectedly. He follows our boys around everywhere and barks ferociously at strangers while running the other way. Once introduced, he'll lean so hard he'll push you over and perhaps pee on your shoes if he gets real excited.

  35. I maybe didn't use the best choice of words in my earlier post. I meant breaking the law wrong. . I DO agree she failed to do her job. I've never been on a movie set and I'm not sure what the standards are for Armorers. Common sense and the law don't always go hand in hand. I don't doubt she will be charged, but the real criminal here is Alec Baldwin. Ultimately, had he exercised any of the gun safety rules, the incident wouldn't have happened. As was pointed out above, having the film industry there is a boon to their economy, so I imagine they wont do anything to jeopardize that.

  36. I might have you beat, I still use a "flip phone", it belongs to the company I work for. I have not owned a personal phone in over 20 years. Now the company is upgrading my phone, it will be an Apple device. Seams that the old phone wont run apps that are required for work these days. First bad part is I will loose the number I have had all these years, yes I am going to try and keep the old phone just for the number.

  37. Absolutely no doubt. She did fail miserably. But my questions are was she even there when the asst. director took the gun? Did she give it to him? Did she know he had taken it? There has been absolutely no mention of any of this. Last I heard, stupid isn't illegal.

  38. I've never personally had one but worked with handlers with plenty of mals and people that had one as a pet. The best I could describe one is take the highest drive dog you've seen and then let them smoke meth that is a mal. Must have plenty of exercise, supervision, and training to keep them in line. Most people really don't have the time and/or don't have the will to put that much work into a dog.

  40. Duh. Unless the child is mentally handicapped, no parent is responsible for the well being of their child. "Child" implies someone under the age of 9 or 10 years old, IMO. Usually under 6 for that matter. Unless of course said "child" is getting shot for beating, robbing or attempting to rape a white person. Then the "child" can be up to 24 years old & the media pic of the "child" will be when it was 5 years old.....................

  41. I've got a mal mix(we think). Even the vet isn't sure. I doubt I'll ever have a better dog. He definitely didn't get the hyper gene though. He loves to go hiking but is also fine sleeping all day. I wouldn't get a pure bred Mal unless I was retired and needed a full time hobby. Someone once said they knew a mal that would eat plants because he hated they were alive. As a puppy Gunner looked like this(last picture). We were convinced he was a Mal. Then he got older and turned into a handsome gray bearded mutt. Definitely has a Pitt shaped head. Unfortunately, he's got stage IV kidney disease so we're spoiling the hell out of him everyday. He's been the best dog I could ask for. Mean mugging...

  42. I have a friend who has one of these beautiful dogs. He says it like having a full time job to keep him occupied. He said it was like his swimming pool. Too much work, too much money and he’ll never own either one again. I love watching them work. We picked up an Australian terrier from our local pound. She is always by my wife’s side. She’s smaller but thinks she owns everything outside of our house and let you know if anyone is nearby. If you want to play, she will fetch a ball or catch a frisbee till your arm falls off. good luck finding what you’re looking for.

  43. This may not be the right dog for you. Mals are extremely high energy and high drive. They need constant activity and stimulation. They are working dogs. They need plenty to do or you will POTENTIALLY have your yard and belongings destroyed depending upon the amount of training you dog has.

  44. Malagators need a job and plenty of exercise. You don't want the dog to get bored. They can be great companions but they need training. If you want a dog to hang out with and bark at strangers, a mutt from the shelter will do that fine. A friend trains them for various things.... http://fdk9tn.com/

  47. Springfield don'rt sell no junk. Even if it is just a rebranded foreign made gun, you can bet it will meet Springfield's rigorous specs. I have high hopes for this one. But very likely it will be pretty expensive and take forever to get to the open market where guys like me can get one.
