  1. Expecting an actor to check and clear a weapon before it is actually used is like expecting a politician to write their own speeches. They have people for that.

  2. Hypocrisy is why. Same reason John blanking Kerry supported an AW ban but keeps a AK-47 himself. Full auto, no less. Rosie (where's the food?) O'Donnell wants guns banned but has armed security. Former columnist Carl Rowan, Sr wanted guns banned yet shot an unarmed teen who dared to use his pool. Sean Penn wants to ban guns yet he carried a 12ga pump when he visited New Orleans after Katrina. There's a list of elite hypocrites 100 miles long when it comes to firearms. "Rules for thee, not for me" is their standard.

  3. More damaging news coming out this morning on the net. Seems Baldwin isn't the innocent victim he's claiming to be (gasp!). Reports are now saying he took the gun out himself for target practice off-set. Chain-of-custody on the gun is where the guilt is going to be but as others mentioned, Hollyweird is perfect at covering their ass. Some of you might remember the death of Vic Morrow & some kids on the Twilight Zone movie set? A helicopter stunt went badly wrong & killed 4-5 people. Not a single person was found criminally negligent afterwards. I hope they hang Alec Baldwin by his tiny little testicles & the victims sue him for all he's worth. He's a skid mark on the underwear of humanity.

  4. Maybe they should be expected to. These same actors want to hang a gunowner out to dry when someone steals their gun and uses it in a crime. Responsibility goes both ways.

  5. I was lucky enough to receive from the CMP a service grade, all matching 1945 Colt 1911A1. The slide and frame finish matches correctly and all the internals are correct for the year. I wanted to give the CMP a big shout out from one who collects U.S. military. For those of you who want a piece of our military history, check out the CMP website. The minute this .45 touched my hands the price doubled or tripled. You cant beat that anywhere I know of. After I pass I’d love to be a fly on the wall watching the fight from my nephews as to get this weapon.

  7. Bob hands me a gun and tells me it's unloaded. John tells me to point the gun at someone and pull the trigger. Steve tells me it's a fake gun. I do what I'm told and kill some one. I'm pretty sure I'd spend the night in jail.

  8. I can't wait to hear how this is played out when it is all said and done and the case is closed. Hollywood is one of the most anti-gun lobbyists in the country yet some of their biggest block buster movies, guns are a big attraction. If there was going to be an accidental firearms you would think it would have happened is any of the John Wick movies. According to research John Wick shot and killed 108 people in the first movie yet no one was hurt for real. But then John Wick was portrayed by Keanu Reeves which is a firearms advocate and supports the 2nd Amendment and I would bet he practices gun safety even when he is on the movie set.........JMHO

  15. Didn't see this posted. LAPD has chosen the FN 509 MRD-LE as their new handgun of choice. I believe they went with the non-optic mounted version but they do have the optic plate on the slide. Pic below. As a FN fan myself, I'm happy for them to beat out Glock.

  18. We bought our place before the Kudzu started greening up and I saw lots of vines and thought it might be the case but the seller made it out to be no problem. The way Kudzu propagates it is nearly impossible to kill it completely, the best you can do is control it. Goats are one of the best methods if you can fence in the area. I had a local goat farmer that was interested in using part of my property but in the end decided not to because of a seasonal stream running through it that he thought young goats might drown in and some trees that the older goats may girdle and kill. What I gave done to control mine: Mowing regularly if possible, I had a large area terraformed so it could be mowed once a month. I smothered one hillside with some old tarps I had that I spread out and weighted down with rocks and let the sun cook it for a coupe of summers. I also buried a bunch under shale fill where I wanted to extend a flat area over a drop off. In the deeper woods I noticed what looked like hoses running through the woods then up trees, turns out the Kudzu would make runs till it saw a little sun then go up. I spent a lot of time with clippers and bow saw cutting the vines to kill the Kudzu that was spreading out over the tops of the trees. Some were 2-3" in diameter. Now for the real control method when you have areas you can not do any of the other methods. Trycera herbicide, I asked the people that control Kudzu for the power company to keep it from climbing the poles and ripping down the wires. They use a very strong mix with a truck mounted tank and sprayer and the Kudzu starts wilting with in hours. The active ingredient is Tricolor: 3,5,6-trichloroethane-2pyridinyloxyacetic acid 29.4%. I us a generic version called Crossroad from the farmers Coop. I mix it 8oz to the gallon which is about twice what the jug says but way less than the professionals. On a sunny day the Kudzu will be wilting by the next day. I used a lot of this the first couple of years with many heavy sprayings each Summer. Even hired a pro to do massive spraying to the worse areas twice. Now 6 years later I spray about 6 gallons (mixed) along a ravine that is not mow able and I do not own both sides of along my driveway and the edges of my woods. I do this level of spraying early when it is just getting leafed out and again in July. I do extra touch up spraying of about 2 gallons each time a couple of more times each Summer. Of course I continue watching and clipping new shoots or spot spraying as I see them. I'm convinced that if I just stopped I would be back where I started within 5 or 6 years but the Trysera and mowing has it controlled. I started with it being solid Kudzu on both sides of about 800' of my 1200' drive, about 1/2 acres beside the house a couple of acres out in front, and hit and miss around the rest of our 7.5 acres. Seeing what "bobsguns" posted while I was typing this long message, Roundup does not work well enough to bother with. The Trysera if used carefully will not kill grass and such but will turn it brown for awhile, it is a broadleaf herbicide.

  19. Titans won big today but Henry got only 86 yards against what was THE weakest team against the run. Still, the Titans won & that's what counts. The Jets (who beat the Titans) just got steamrolled by the Pats. Had the Titans won that game, they'd have the best record in the NFL today. Is there a team currently worse than the Texans? Even Miami isn't that bad. Jeez. Bengals beat the Ravens in Baltimore, surprising me. The Bengals might be for real this year. LSU fans are blowing up Twitter, wanting Lane Kiffen to be the next coach. Wonder what his buy-out is anyway? Be a lot easier to recruit at LSU than Ole Miss, that's for sure. Wake Forrest is 7-0 for the first time since the 1940s, I think. Their stadium only holds 31,000. Good for them though.

  20. Not if you're a famous Trump-hater. Then you'd get a get-out-of-jail-free card while some underling gets hung with the blame. Let's blame John in your case.........................

  21. Not if you were a paid actor and John and Steve were in charge of handing you a safe prop gun. With the limited info released so far other than being stupidly naive about danger and failing to educate yourself about tools of your trade.....No charges because you followed the minimum weak requirements set out by the film industry apparently. As more comes to light, if corners were indeed cut because of Union squabbles etc., Baldwin being more than just an actor in this production may very well face some charges. It's hard as a person familiar with shooting firearms to put yourself in the shoes of an idiot actor who has no clue about guns except movies. Dislike the man but won't judge him just yet.

  22. What you need is an opposing magnet stuck to a 9-volt battery on your handgun's slide. This produces a rail-gun, which is not to be confused with a gun with an accessory rail. One will accelerate your 9mm Winchester White Box ammo past the speed of light, causing a black hole to form and sucking your enemy into it. The other allows you to hang an O-Light off of your gun and get pissed each time the absurdly large latch accidentally releases your light as you draw from a holster. These car magnets are just a bad idea. Very bad. For a lot of reasons. It hurts my head to think that I'd have to enumerate them. Just say no to them. I can't believe that I am about to post a James Yeager video, but here we are. I haven't even watched it yet but I know he's going to pop a vein so that I don't have to. I assume that a language warning is probably prudent. Don't watch this with your kids.

  23. Nice toy! 300 Blackout is such a great caliber for short barrels. Big old magnum pistol with high BC bullets. I have been tempted to go there many times. If I ever do an AR pistol, it will be in that caliber.

  26. "Live round" in the case of movie making usually refers to blank round I'm learning. Semi autos need a restricter with small hole. This is welded or screwed into the barrel to function the action for multiple shots with blanks. Some of these guns are purpose built to only use special blanks and do not accept real ammo according to a few YouTube vids out there. Revolvers need no resriction disc in the barrel when using blanks and lots of pressure is released out the barrel. Enough to propel a lodged bullet or other foreign object out of the barrel with lethal force. I would hope part of the safety protocol on set would be to run a rod down the barrel prior to a fake gunfight? As an actor I would personally want to educate myself on all this even if I was anti-gun. To trust someone else just seems stupid. If a real round was in this revolver for some unknown reason, basic safety and knowledge on actors part could have prevented this as well. Perhaps as stupid as it is these actors are trained to let the "experts" do their jobs with the weapons and not to interfere. Hell with that!

  32. Since live ammo should not have been on the set, since it was declared cold since he was not pointing it an actor when he shot, seems like a murder plot from a bunch of TV shows.

  35. A lot of people jumped to conclusions on this one. Alec might be a douchebag, but I'm fairly certain actors aren't really expected to clear a gun on set. I bet most actors don't even know the difference in ammo types.

  37. Congratulations on getting a fine piece of history! I haven't heard much about the CMP guns in quite a while. I guess they still have some then? I got one during the first round. Mine is a 1942 Colt frame with an Ithica slide.

  38. Actually he went further than that. LAPD sent him a rifle for repair/refurbishment. He had it in his possession. Once the new gun laws passed, he not only refused to repair it, he refused to SHIP it back to them. He MADE them come & get the thing themselves. So one (or two) deputies flew in from CA, retrieved the rifle & then flew back to CA with it, unrepaired. Cheers for Mr. Barrett, IMO.

  43. The NRA called me for a donation just a couple evenings ago and I told them that no more money from me so long as WLP was running the show. Apparently the caller (I wonder if they're members or paid?) had heard it a few times before, as she just thanked me and hung up. I've been an NRA life member for a LONG time, and made regular donations up until a few years ago. I can hardly believe that WLP was reelected and find it disgusting.

  45. I'm willing to bet more people have been killed in car stunts on movie sets than by gun stunts. We need to ban cars from movie sets before we ban guns. We could just use all CGI actors. They technically wouldn't have genitals so the left would love the idea.
