I think you'll see more and more unruly bahavor at all sporting events since society in general is a much less polite and well behaved populous than in times past.4 points

Well said. I'm pretty critical of UT but I've seen this exact scenario happen at numerous other schools. I don't know why folks are acting like throwing stuff on the field is a new issue. Drunk kids are going to do stupid things..3 points

I can name off almost a dozen instances of other SEC as well as non-SEC crowds whom became obnoxious. GA fans got tear gassed one year when they beat Florida. Tear gassed at a football game! UT fans tell story after story of having beer thrown or poured on them in Gainsville. Fulmer's wife & kids had to go get security one year when they became harassed beyond the normal. Even Vandy has been guilty of throwing things onto the field of play, resulting in fines to the school. It cost them a win against Florida one year when CM Newton was coach. Yes, it was a classless act on the fans part. But UT is by no means alone in this behavior, nor can I recall them doing this in the past. Not sure how you arrive at "as usual" in your comment. I also note Pred fans got into a fight with Seattle fans last week in Nashville at a hockey game. Classless Pred fans "as usual" there too?2 points

No, that’s a legit pic of how them boys really ran when slotting floppies. Those were Selous Scouts and about some of the hardest men who ever walked the earth killing commies.2 points

I was set up at Knob Creek last weekend and the reloading stuff was slim. Pat's Reloading had WC844 and WC846 for $195 for 8lbs. Primers were non existent. Grunt67 was on the money. ALL the primers are going into ammo orders at the moment. A couple vendors had a few boxes, but they were asking $125 and $145 per 1000. Saw a couple boxes get sold. One vendor had ten one pound bottles of Varget. He wanted $50/pound. Another vendor was set up with a collection of powder but it was all $45/pound and higher. None of it sold. A brass vendor was selling .223 fired brass at $125/1000 and .45acp at $100/1000. It didn't sell. On the flip side of that projectiles sold like crazy. Spectre Supply brought 1-1/2 Tons of 9mm, .223 and .30 cal. They were completely sold out by 11:30 Friday morning. Every projectile they had was sold in less than 2 hours! Ammo sales were hit and miss. The big vendors were trying to sell Barnaul steel case .223 at $390/1000. We did not see a lot of it moving. 9mm was at $25 a box. .45 acp was at $30 and $35 per box. We did have a good talk with the guys from Pat's reloading. They have a direct line to the primer producers. They said there are huge orders out there for primers. When those orders finally get delivered to the vendors, most wont be able to handle the elevated price on the bill and there will be a big dumping of primers on the market. First quarter of 2022 is when a lot of these orders are slated to be filled. I guess we'll see how it plays out then.1 point

Just that their prices are way up too. They used to be in the bargain bin with the aforementioned M1 Carbines, SKSes, and AKs. Everything in the Milsurp world has risen considerably in the past 10 years.1 point

Send me the mag, I'll button it for you. I made one up for a 9mm luger a couple years ago. That picture Jeb 48 was kind enough to post is all the spec I would need. We had a pretty good chat when you and your Pilot buddy were over. Tell him I said hi.1 point

I’m thinking of petitioning the TWRA to waive the blaze orange requirements for deer hunters. After last night, I would nearly prefer to be mistaken for a game animal than a UT fan.1 point

Last night was as good an example as I can think of why I could never be a UT fan. No wonder the rest of the country sees us as toothless, inbred hillbillies.1 point

Most people were civil. But there’s always an element with poor impulse control. And that’s what gets press the players gave their all1 point

Wow! How about the ending to the UT-Ole Miss game? LOL! What a fricking zoo! Not condoning the throwing of objects, but UT fans had a couple of reasons to be upset. They were robbed on a fumble recovery/TD return. No whistle had blown but somehow the ref decided that the play was dead despite NO whistle blowing. Robbed again on the late 4th & 27 pass & catch. Even if he was short, it was a horrible spot, IMO. Fans had over 20 years of frustration pent up & they let loose. Looked like mostly the student section. Vandy had a win on the road & managed once again to get both out-played and out-coached late in the game. Sad. LSU schooled Florida. I think Florida was way overconfident coming into that game & LSU made them pay. Bama & GA rolled, no surprise there. A&M had no Bama win hangover. Iowa got boat raced. LOL! I knew they were overrated, no way were they a Top 5 team. Cincinnati looks to be a for real team. UT will get boat raced by Bama next week, I'm afraid. Ole Miss vs LSU now seems to look like a game to watch, IMO.1 point

I've got a 10kw military genset, it will run the whole 3,000 square foot house. I look at it as a luxury item though. In a actual full blown major event, I think you are better off to learn how live without electricity than you are to try to produce it. After some time you're going to run into fuel issues, and a big genset running in the night is like a big magnet to attract unwanted attention.1 point

And yet the victim has already been tried. LOL Honestly I'm glad everyone is still alive after this incident. He should get a chunk of money. He should also get to punch that one cop in the face at least once.1 point

The crowd and show sure did change over the years. Years ago there were crates full of surplus guns, box lots full of parts, ammo. It all went away.1 point

My company (Hawkeye’’s Refinishing) was a vendor there several years ago. On Sunday we could purchase any rifle caliper for 12 cents or less by case price. 8mm went from 6 to 8 cents a round, .308 about 10 cents. Boy, for the good old days. It just got to be just a zoo with the kids, dogs, and of course the strippers.1 point

I do a lot of loading and testing. Thought these results may be of interest to some. I always enjoy hearing others results as well. This test was done at 30'. I used CFE Pistol powder and CCI 500 primers. All shots were fired from a Ransom Rest. I did target and ballistic gel tests. The rounds you see were taken from the ballistic gel. All averaged 12"-15" penetration. The V-Crowns and Gold Dots mushroomed out very well and had great weight retention. The RMR hollow points are very accurate but the jacket fragments quite a bit on impact. The Hornady XTP is a bone crusher. Everything was loaded on Dillon 650s with a Mighty Armory sizing die.1 point

Time to lawyer up. My brother had to fight for his infusion. I have encouraged him to go after that doctor with the state medical folks. FJB1 point

You can't anneal the entire case. Bad thing would happen. Only the neck. Your best bet is annealing the neck and getting an expander that's tapered or around 8.5 mm. It'll be a 2 step process, but you'll split less.1 point

I would strongly recommend a pre 64 Winchester or an older, pre safety Marlin as opposed to anything of new manufacture. I can also recommend a 99 Savage.1 point

The red canister is an oil filter I think. That is what they used back in the old days. Then someone invented the spin on type which was easier to change then Toyota decided that a canister filter was better with 2o rings, special fitting to drain and a special wrench to remove.0 points
