Went to Pigeon Forge this week. Found Blaser Brass 115 Gr 9 MM, practice ammo, at the J Floyds Golf Shop next too Goodwill, on the main parkway in Sevierville, for 19.95 per box of 50, or 400.00 for 1000 round case. Best price I have seen lately. They had two other brands also. About 100,000 rounds in stock last Tuesday. I purchased 300 rounds. I know it was high, for 9 MM, but who knows what is going to happen and I wanted some practice without using my stash. Does anyone know where I can find some Remington Golden Saber self defense ammo in 9 MM and 357 Mag 125 Gr Bonded HP + P?2 points

My Dad was a Nike shooter. Zeus, Ajax Herc, Pershings and such. He also let loose some Hawks as well. From White Sands to the Black Forest with 2 stops in The Damn Nam. After he retired out of the Army, he went to work for the Navy as a civvie contractor in the Bahamas, a real tough duty station. He passed a few years back and I sure miss my Old Man. GO ARMY!2 points

I had to ship a lot of things thru the post office this summer and everything arrived in two days and at a fraction of a cost compared to ups and fed ex. The one thing I shipped by fedex was four days late. #### this pos for trying to destroy the post office.1 point

In 1969, I was on the way to work one morning. listening to that on the radio. There were strange clouds in the sky, later that am, we had a flash flood for the ages. Never forgot that. Scary.1 point

This place has been on the news magazine shows a few times. The owner is now a US congressperson. She has been in the news frequently. We need a place like that in Mid-Tenn1 point

Totally agreed with you RED333, but in the future that could be cheap. The Pres banned Russian ammo and that is a large part of the ammo used in the U S. Estimates is probably up to 1/5 of ammo used as of late. That is a large chunk my friends. Remington is gearing up once again so that may fill the void left by no Russian Ammo. I truly hope it comes down, but 459.00 per 1000 is what S G Ammo has been at for months now. Before the crunch the same ammo was 179.00. OH, for those days again. I think we all wish we had laid in a few more thousand rounds at 179.00 for 9 mm practice.1 point

Yep, the Happy Chappy! C battery 2nd Battalion, 5th Air Defense Artillery, 2nd Armored Division, Fort Hood, Texas. 1972-74 "If it flies, it DIES!" Basically, its Sidewinder fired from a ground launcher mounted in a tracked weapons carrier. Like I said, I was a mechanic. When the missile boys played, I was pretty much just a grunt on the perimeter. But I did drive the M578 Tracked Recovery Vehicle and thus, my main weapon was Ma Deuce!1 point

Coincidentally, I saw a truck pulling a flatbed trailer with a helicopter on it this morning between Crossville and Cookeville. The heli was wrapped with blue plastic, but the semi behind it had a Sikorsky logo on the side of the trailer and the trailer had a retractable radome on the back. I think that second trailer was some kind of mobile test facility, though why Sikorsky would need to test remotely is a puzzle. Unfortunately the trucks didn't get off at my ramp so I couldn't poke around to see under there, but it was still interesting and reminded me of this string.1 point

You got the lack of transparency thing right. But they also don't care what the members think. I hadn't been happy with "Compromise Wayne" for a long time, but when news of his shenanigans came out, I tried to speak up. Oddly enough, NRA's e-mail suddenly went down and phone calls only got recordings. The NRA leadership has completely lost touch with the membership and don't seem interested in what we have to say. They have become just like the politicians they are supposed to be fighting.1 point

Depending on how much trouble it would be, I'd want it back just to be a PITA to New York. My FIL was the head of security for a local grocery store chain. On day many years ago a real pro decided to rob his store. The guy had done his homework and knew who my FIL was. He came in, got a cart and proceeded to act like a regular customer. Came up behind my FIL and without any warning knocked him out cold! He took a 2" Model 10 from my FIL, went up front and robbed the store. Some 20 years later, FIL got a call from the Sheriff's Dept saying his gun had been recovered. He got it back and it was in surprisingly good shape.1 point

My wife and I both are regular multi-vitamin consumers with vitamin D3 enhancement. She also takes elderberry. She wore a mask around the house when we knew the first granddaughter was COVID positive. I wore no masks. COVID can hit one and not the other because the J&J is only around 66.3% effective; therefore, it worked on my daughter and my wife was part of the 33.7% of the people it did not work on. It did make her symptoms less severe, because with her co-morbidities she'd have likely died. The Moderna is 95% effective, so I'm NOT one of the 5% it is not effective on.1 point

I’ve been holding it in, but here you go. I’m reasonably certain now that my wife as well as both children have had the virus. No clue how I managed to avoid it. Only the wife has been vaccinated, and I expect she had it when she got the second dose. Aside from the employer required vaccine she decided to take, none of us have costed the taxpayer or health insurance company a dime. I may die of it before morning, but I still stand by my statement that it is no one’s business whether we’ve had the jab, and it would be impossible for us to infect anyone if we aren’t infected ourselves. Carry on whining and looking down your nose until you’re satisfied.1 point

Here's the rest of my .44 Special family. the 1st & 2nd models have already been covered. I also have all three barrel lengths (3.5. 4 & 6.5") of the limited production Model 24-3 reintroduced in 1983. That was another quest completed. A Model 696 No Dash made in 1997. This is a L-frame 5 shooter. 44 Special. One of the last of the old style S&Ws before they went to MIM parts. The 696-1 and -2 had the new MIM parts making the No Dash version very desirable and hard to find. And every .44 Special lover should have a Charter Arms Bulldog just because.1 point

Every school goes through cycles. Bama fans conveniently forget the DuBose, Shula, Bill Curry, Mike Price, etc years of Bama coaches. Aside from Gene Stallings' couple of years & the arrival of Saban, Bama was lucky to beat Vandy. Hell, Saban's first year included a loss to the powerhouse UL-Monroe. LOL!!!! When Saban retires, it will once again revert back to mediocrity for a period of time. Auburn didn't do squat between Jordan & Pat Dye. Only had sparks between Dye & now, Cam Newton's Heisman year. Florida couldn't beat school of the blind prior to Spurrior arriving. Galen Hall had a couple of good years but he got Florida on probation & their wins forfeited. LSU had a long drought after Charles McClendon retired. All of them underachieved prior to Saban arriving. Oregeron lucked out with a transfer QB in Burrow & rode his arm to a NC. They're back to normal now. After Frank Broyles retired, Lou Holtz had five years before he too bolted. Houston Nutt had some good years before they too settled back to mostly average. (At one time, Broyles had as assistants Johnny Majors, Jimmy Johnson & Doug Dickey. All went on to head coaching success, two won NC's.) GA had many years of average teams after Vince Dooley retired. Only until Kirby Smart arrived have they regained national prominence. Ole Miss has had a revolving door since Johnny Vaught retired in 1973. Lane Kiffen will leave as soon as someone bigger offers him a job, IMO. Miss State has never had a top tier year. Their longest coach was Dan Mullen, who left them for Florida. He was there 8 years. Vandy & KY are both basketball schools & haven't fielded good teams since WW2. SC, A&M & MO are all too new to the SEC to recount their history. One thing about getting old is you can recall when something or someone used to stink up the joint.1 point

I agree, we don't need to promote people vacationing here. The woo girl epidemic is crippling Lower Broadway in Nashville clogging up the road with all types of pedal taverns and tractors hauling obnoxious drunks who are having so much fun that they decide to move here, drive the housing prices sky high, and then complain about how we don't do things the way that they did them back in Connecticut. Tennessee is a horrible place. Hot in the summer, cold in the winter, with a very short spring and fall. The level of humidity is such that we have forgotten what it really means to truly dry off. We're infested with alligators, rattlesnakes, chiggers, ticks, and mosquitos that are difficult to distinguish from hummingbirds. Our roads are treacherous, curvy, and poorly maintained. All of the natives are hillbillies who will do their best to drive you back to wherever you came from. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.1 point

From what I've learned, Ivermectin probably isn't worth a damn, and the antibody infusion is great. Speaking of product review, the Chinese suck at drywall, but make the best virus money can buy. Kudos to the Cockwomble for knowing how to pick them. Had another vaccinated friend pass his covid admission test. Doc says he won't get sick. Good thing. Being a covid victim sucks worse than Chinese drywall.0 points

I've been retired about nine years now. Had to retire because of heath. So not being able to do a lot just do what I can. It took some getting used to but you will find a hobby to interest you. The worst part I have found with not having anything to do is you never know when you are finished.0 points
