  1. Thank you for all the input. Sunday morning her husband came over with no shirt on I informed him I was just trying to sight a rifle in the day before he seemed very understanding. And around noon I proceeded to finishing sighting in the rifle fired a total of six shots over two days. She called the law shortly after and said I was setting explosives off. The deputy came informed they had reports of things blowing up and I took him around the property to show there was no explosions. He looked at my target and berm and told me I was 100% legal and was acting in a safe manner.

  2. I have stopped donating too. But, we don't need to be wishing for their demise. Chasing Wayne off is a whole lot different than Latisha using the State of New York to destroy the NRA. Piss on that woman, and all her friends. She doesn't hate Wayne. She hates ME.

  3. A few years ago I had a 35 acre farm that I used for a shooting range on occasion. First thing I did was go knock on the door of the elderly widow who lived next door. I explained to her that I would be shooting at times and that I would call her before hand to make sure she did not have anything going on that my noise might interrupt. I also assured her I would have a proper backstop and would never be shooting in the direction of her house. We got along great. I had no legal requirement to clear it with her but a little courtesy goes a long way towards having good neighbors.

  4. Leaving in the early hours for Wisconsin to hunt for a couple of days. Then youngest son and I are heading out to Wyoming for 10 days of deer and antelope hunting. This is strictly a meat hunt. Will try to get on and send some pics. Stay out of trouble till I get back. I wont have any spare money for bail, lol.

  5. That's great and now you know your legal standing. But now you also have a neighbor problem, which is not so great. Those kinds of things can fester for years. Since her husband seemed reasonable, maybe he'll help her understand. Good luck!

  6. Just out of curiosity, how much property are you on? Can you move 100 yards away from the neighbor's house and still remain on your own property to shoot? TN laws don't allow you to shoot at a game animal while hunting if you are within 100 yards of a house, or even to chase an animal within that distance. But that's a hunting regulation, not a "shooting" regulation. You didn't mention any CC&R's attached to your property, so I assume there are none, but in any case, being a good neighbor might mean finding another place to shoot. At a very minimum I'd go and speak with the neighbor about your shooting activity. Perhaps she'd be agreeable to occasional gunfire if you show her where you're shooting and demonstrate that it's safe. A little respectful, friendly conversation can go a long way.

  7. I truly enjoyed y’all’s comments. And to defend my self and answer some questions she doesn’t work from what I can tell her car barely leaves. the shots were fired on the weekend mid day. I wasn’t dumping mags nor do I want to. I was just trying to sight a rifle in I’ve lived within five miles of here my whole life except for a few years in the service. And I’ve never ask a neighbor to shoot nor has any of mine ask me to shoot and I don’t expect it we live in the country and I just feel like it’s a norm out here. I guess I could have walked over there and told her I was going to shoot the same way she could have walked over and told me her concerns instead of screaming through the woods at me or caught me at the mailbox. I don’t have a lot of land six acres but it backs up to thick empty woods for a very good while right after about a 15’ dirt pile which her house is or property is not inline from my back porch where I’m shooting from. Thanks once again.

  9. I had a neighbor that moved in next to me. My safe shooting on my personal property ran afoul of her New York sensitivities. She called out SO numerous times and was upset when they would tell her that what I was doing was safe and legal. Things escalated to where they would start playing obnoxiously loud rap music anytime myself or family was outside. Especially when entertaining guests for cookouts, etc. I responded by often walking up and down the property line in the evenings or early mornings discharging my shotgun into the ground. Sometimes I would purposely wait until she was trying to enjoy time in her yard and then I would go outside with the loudest guns I have. I made sure that my friends also made frequent use of my range set up. once someone tries to strong arm me, any consideration or courtesy I would otherwise give flies out the window. I suggest you get a bunch of locals together and set up a Knob Creek style shoot on the weekends.

  10. Here's you something to think about. Trump had great policies and if he could have controlled his Trump personality just a little bit better, he would still be president. I really believe if I were this woman's neighbor we could get along. I believe I could shoot on my property without pissing her off. The problem with people today is everyone is so defensive that they can not see the other person's side. It is always better to try and work with your neighbors than fight with them. I've had bad neighbors and I've had great neighbors. If you want a great neighbor, be a great neighbor. In the end it is worth the extra effort.

  15. Just your daily reminder to consult a physician that you trust and to decide which course of action is best for you to take. Ignore the media, ignore the Internet. Talk to the person with an MD that you trust to keep you healthy and well in all other matters of medicine, and show them the same level of trust with this that you'd show them with any other medical matter. Why? Because y'all are my people, dammit, and I want you here tomorrow. And like you I think this thing has become so politicized that even if walks and quacks like a duck, you've got reason to be skeptical that it's not really a Koala. So go find your expert in ducks and Koalas and trust them. PS: No scotch or whiskey was harmed in the creation of this post... but I'mma 'bout to fix that.

  16. Good paying manufacturing jobs? Yeah, that’s exactly what Memphis and Tennessee as a whole need. It doesn’t matter if you like the idea of EVs, or hate Memphis. Quality manufacturing jobs in Tennessee are a great thing that we should all be happy about.

  18. Just bought one of these this week. All positive reviews and I must say my initial impression is very positive. Feels good in the hand, nice balance. Comes with a decent holster. Slide cut for optic. Warren steel sights with FS luminous. 2 changeable backstraps. Shot very nicely to POA and handled all reloads and cycled flawlessly with HP. Has a 12 rd and 15rd mag. Can be had around $400. Lifetime warranty. If you have been thinking about it, I don't think you will be sorry. 3.6" barrel, little chunkier than the S&W 1.0 compact which it won't replace but is a nice option.

  19. Scored the pictured items from a guy I work with who used to reload 20 years ago. Mainly after the 357/38 special dies (2 sets!), but 2 presses, case trimmer, assorted lead projectiles, etc... I thought it was a steal for what I paid. My concern is the powder and primers. They're said to be 20+ years old. Stored outside in a garage in a cardboard box, not temp controlled. About 2/3rds of the bottle in there, shakes up fine, no funny smell. Safe to use, or save for next 4th of July? The metal on the tools is showing rust, the RCBS press is rather tight... I'm imagining some quality time with a little gasoline, WD40, and some 000 Steel wool? Maybe get a few brass wire brushes? - K

  20. We moved into ours 32 years ago, we bought a "Family Home" that was in the same family for over 100 years. Little did we know what we had done. The brothers that had the place split it up, we got the house and 5 acres. The brother that owned our place has been gone since before we bought the place, it sold out of spite between the wife of our place and the brother of other place. A fence was tried to be put on our side of the line, we fixed that. LEO called on us for theft, we were proven as to not have done it. LEO called for us shooting, LEO came, saw what and where we were shooting and was told every thing is OK. To this day the grand son still accuses us of not being the rightful owners, as the wife of the brother that owned the place had no claim to the property. This as been going on for 32 years, we are still here and land value is going up every year. One day someone will offer us money we can not refuse as I will not put my place on the market. The grand son has offered to buy the place, but just cant get his money right.

  21. I've seen that holster before, like you I wondered the same thing about the magazine being on the same side as your firearm. As for having the magazine and firearm together, I have a sidecar holster that I carry appendix and it works well. Firearm on my strong/right side, magazine canted toward my left/offhand.

  27. I don't disagree with you. I'll do my best to get along with folks. But don't go sending the cops after me, and expect me to just stand around and wait for more. I have only had one drawn out neighbor fight out of LOTS of neighbors. And it was because MY crazy woman sent the cops after them. The fight ended when they needed something from me, and got it. And I have a whole different take on why Trump lost the presidency. He lost it mainly because of Covid. One could almost believe that it could have been created and deployed specifically to accomplish that. And if not, it sure worked well.

  32. Soak the clean steel parts in Evapo-Rust, it will clean them up in no time, may take 24 hour soak, but check often or the steel will darken a bit, which IMO is no problem. The painted parts may clean up too, but if there is the slightest rust under the paint it will dissolve and paint will come off with it. As to the old primers and powders, they should be fine, give the powder a smell test, as mentioned above. I have 30+ year old powder and primers that still work as advertised, though they were stored, about half that time in uncontrolled temps in the shed.

  33. Not sure what else to do with somebody like her. Not shoot on your own property? She already called the law. I gotta be clear here. If somebody tries to force me to stop legal activities on my property, and calls in folks with guns, my Trump personality will come out right now. I hate conflict, but will fight every time when somebody tries to walk on me. I don't know what else Karen can try to do. I already don't like her enough to want to hang out with her.

  42. If you are going to hunt with it go with a .45-70. If it is mainly for plinking and action shooting then a .357 or .44 is hard to beat. I love my Marlin 336 in .44mag.

  43. Dumb question.... well, kinda not so much a question as it is a statement really. Pick a sight. Peep or scope. If you mount a scope, I promise you; in your lifetime you're never, ever going to take it off to shoot irons. If you're going to be sticking to hunting within iron sight ranges, put a freaking scope on it because honestly, it's far more accurate. If you wanna shoot a peep, more power to you. Go with God & ignore the scope entirely. I've been in some ri-DICulous situations & have yet to need to remove a scope. Buy good, reliable glass & it'll last you a lifetime. Or run irons & accept that you're probably not going to 12-ring that 200yd critter.
