  1. I picked up Friday. I found it at the flea market between Manchester and Tullahoma. Fred's booth is a lot of fun. not sure about the US Revolver but the two silver badges appear to be authentic Pinkerton as does the brass New York Central Railway Police badge. There are three large and three small Pinkerton uniform buttons and the box of 38 S&W holds 48 rounds, Of course the "Golden Spike" is just painted. The revolver is functional aside from the ejector. Finish is non-existent and there is much pitting. I will test fire it when I find a box of ammo but this will be a display piece. Just wish I had documentation on the history of what appears to be an authentic retired railroad detective's service memento. If you know this to be a fraud,,,don't tell me

  3. If you don't know what this brick structure is and what that old burn barrel is for then you aren't from the south. I made this bbq pit and I swear it's the best thing I ever made. The burn barrel , I cut it to be able to shovel my wood when it falls through the rebar I have running through it. I'm cooking 3 shoulders today and it just seems like a lost southern thing. These newer and younger people use grills and such but you can't beat a good old pit and burn barrel. Shoveling wood coals as they fall through the rebar every hour for around 12 to 15 hours is a long haul but worth it. Just thought I'd share this. I'll post my cooked pork this afternoon.

  5. I had an interesting call from my doctor this morning. Unlike us that get most of our information from the media about Covid, she's been doing her own research within medical resources since this whole thing started. The primary reason for the call was to suggest that I consult with my cardiologist about the vaccine because she found something negative about people with stents getting vaccinated. It seems the vaccine has some clotting properties which would defeat the purpose of the stents. She said it was outside her area of expertize but recommended getting his input. The other thing she mentioned was the blood type factor, which I had never heard of. This information is over a year old and the first place I found it was in a medical blog from the National Institute of Health. It makes me wonder if there's something else out there that the general population is not hearing about. BTW In case you're wondering about a Sunday morning call from my doctor, she's also a friend ........................................................................................................................................... The two stretches of DNA implicated as harboring risks for severe COVID-19 are known to carry some intriguing genes, including one that determines blood type and others that play various roles in the immune system. In fact, the findings suggest that people with blood type A face a 50 percent greater risk of needing oxygen support or a ventilator should they become infected with the novel coronavirus. In contrast, people with blood type O appear to have about a 50 percent reduced risk of severe COVID-19. https://directorsblog.nih.gov/2020/06/18/genes-blood-type-tied-to-covid-19-risk-of-severe-disease/

  9. Be aware, if you aren't already, AR15 parts compatability is pretty much universal across all makes, brands & chamberings. AR10, not so much. Certain barrels won't work with certain uppers, barrel nuts have different threads, uppers & lowers need to be matching styles etc... 5.56/.223 is always going to be the most available & popular round & with modern bullets is a far, far more capable hunting round to much longer range than in the past. 350 leg. would be my next choice just because of ammo availability & it's getting to be well known as a capable deer round. It's downfall is simply cost as a target round, terrible ballistics & lack of reloading options.

  10. So....I don't really study history, per se, but I do listen to a lot of historic podcasts & read a lot of old, historic literature. I wanna know, as a non-secular, historically interested dude: when did BC & AD become BCE & CE? I have always worked on the idea that BC was Before Christ, year 0 & worked backwards. IE: 1200 BC was 1200yrs before Jesus was invented (0 minus1200) & 1200 AD was 1200 years after Jesus was invented (did I mention I was non secular? Sorry. I meant atheist) ie: the year 1200. When did it become Before Common Era & Common Era??? My brain automatically, being & heathen & not knowing any better, immediately transposed it as 'before christ existed' & 'Christ's extinct'...... And why 'Common' Era? Do modern historians only publish & work with non judeo-christian fellows? Not trying to be inflammatory, I'm just asking..... Is it religious? Scientific? Political??? I really don't understand WHY it changed!

  14. Mostly Texas History Lessons & The Wild West Extravaganza. Texas history is very dry & educational, WWE (formerly Bloody Beaver) is hilarious. Still educational, but done in a lighthearted fashion. Each episode is about a single figure from western history. Texas history literally starts at the Ice Age....

  19. Someone I knew in college used to use this. He'd go to some club like Silverado's or 101st Airborne in Nashville and ask women "want to ****?" He'd get slapped every now and then, but mostly they'd just walk away. But it never failed. Within 30 minutes of walking in the door he'd be walking out with someone and never once had to buy anyone a drink to chat them up.

So I left them alone. But had I thought of that alternate use, it would have made wathing the kids a family gatherings a whole lot easier.

It is our solemn duty to care for and prepare them to be responsible citizens in the future for they are the potential leaders of our country. GOD alone knows what their true achievements will be By requesting prayer from us indicates that you, Sir, are fulfilling your role as a strong and faithful christian parent. I applaud you. 37. I'll second the comments suggesting a common caliber. You've got to remember your audience is larger and wider than a bunch of TGO gun nuts. You're trying to appeal to a broad base to sell more tix. If someone approached me today asking to buy a gun raffle tix for 5 bucks I'd be all over it. If you told me the gun was .223 wylde, I'd just give you the 5 bucks. If it was 300 BO I might maintain intetest. Outside that, 5.56 only, keep the rest. Simply not interested in owning one.

  38. Almost anyone nominated to be an agency head has a track record for acts, speeches, emails, memos and so forth. They don't come in completely bland, IOW. I'm not sure Chipman was a true nominee or if he was sent to be trash nominee so they could then slip in a less militant one in order to say, "See, this one isn't so bad"? There's no doubt at all Chipman is a lying, weaseling little punk. Anyone who posed for pics at Waco, over the bodies of women & children, isn't right in the head, IMO. Sadly, I feel the ATF is much like the FBI these days. Too far corrupted by political activists to be able to properly do their job. Both agencies would benefit from a mass retiring of their top 5-6 levels of management, IMO. We may never again see both competence and political neutrality again from either agency. Both sad & infuriating.

  39. Both mine ducked this one. My Email to both..... To the Honorable Rep C. Sexton. It is with deep regret that I did not see your name on Rep Clay Dogget's letter of 2nd A abuses by the Feds to our Govenor. I moved my Family here from upstate NY 7 years ago hoping the Republicans here in Tennessee say what they mean and mean what they say. This letter clearly stipulates the conditions of federal abuses that are now being contemplated on top of an over regulated bureaucracy that should have been reeled in as President Ronald Reagan did by slashing their funding due to 2nd Amendment civil abuses. Being in Crossville my self, Please feel free to stop by and chat about your reasoning in defending the course the BATFE is set on. Thank you for your time and consideration.

  41. Firm told me to get the vax or hit the road, I said OK, will save you the trouble, I quit. Was on the company plane at the time with about three of my bosses, (have more bosses these days than producers). That simple...they were stunned, I told them to save the fake facts, we just do not see things the same and I was sure they could replace 26 years of Process Construction experience with one of the college boys, no problem. I had food plots to plant. Owner called later that day and said since I had recouped from it in October last year it would not be a condition of my continued employment. When enough people push back it will stop, if they don't it wont.

  44. My understanding is that you have to reapply, not renew. The course will probably need to be done again as well, as the law states that it has to be within 1 year of the application. Edit: https://law.justia.com/codes/tennessee/2010/title-39/chapter-17/part-13/39-17-1351/ You may need to contact these folks to see if anything has changed due to the "no permit" law that just passed. 46. Honestly, would love to see this little pistol come out in a 10+1 configuaration. I had a P32 and let my daughter have it, when I bought my LCP. She carries it all the time. I've never liked the LCP, like I did the P32. Of course, it would be nice if Ruger made the LCP-MAX, in .32ACP as well.

  47. From 1996 until 2018(?) if you wanted to legally carry a pistol on your person either concealed or openly out in public you got a HCP (Handgun Carry Permit). Then they created a CCP (Concealed Carry Permit) that requires concealed carry and has further restrictions than the standard HCP had and no reciprocity with other states. So the governor and legislature allegedly want to pass "Constitutional Carry" so instead of eliminating the one sentence in TCA that would make it possible they end up creating a new permit with less benefits and an ambiguous and confusing change to the law that now allows people over 21 who can legally own a pistol to carry them (most places but not public parks or greenways) but with further restrictions and it is all just a mess. Here's an idea that would not take a lot of legal or political gymnastics to accomplish. Make the ECP a TRUE "enhanced" permit. If you choose to take the class you can carry ANYWHERE not forbidden by Federal Law. ANYWHERE . Signs have no force of law anymore. You have reciprocity with other states. (I'd also suggest changing the "no alcohol" to simply "as long as you are under the legal limit to drive" like Pennsylvania and several other states but I also know that is very unlikely to happen) If you cannot afford the +/- $70 for the class plus the $100 for the Enhanced Permit or you just don't want to fool with getting it and you are a resident of TN (and you can legally own a pistol) then you would have the right to carry inside the borders of TN but with no reciprocity (not because I believe you shouldn't but because we cannot force other states to allow people from our state with no permit to carry there) but all other features and restrictions would be same as the current HCP is now. Pretty simple.
