That anxiety you feel when you pull the trigger on a $2500 rifle. Well...... 100 yards after 20 rounds. Changed the scope to an HD5 3x15 and ran it at 500, 600, 1000, and 1250. This is 1250 on a human silhouette. I've got about 70 rounds down range so I'm still learning the gun, but I'm not unhappy so far.

I bought this gun on a whim a couple of years back and just don't shoot it at all. I don't have the box and papers but it's in great shape. Price is $375. Willing to meet in Dickson or Ashland city.

Picked up a Henry lever action Sat. .22LR caliber (so I can afford to shoot it), octagon barrel, wood stock, blued steel. But what got me cranked up was it came with a threaded bbl in addition to the octagon shape! I had not seen this combo before then. With rare exceptions, I lust after every octagon barrel rifle I finger bang. Doesn't matter the caliber, they just make my heart rate go way, way up. Sadly, it has the usual buckhorn rear sight, which means that won't work for me as the sight picture is inconsistent. So I also picked up some gently used scopes while I was there. I got two Nikons & one Redfield for $250 OTD! Now the only excuse for bad shots will be.............................. me. Henry still does their lifetime warranty too. Also still made in the USA, which I like.

Bought on GB, I picked up a new Beretta M9-22 Sat. Sadly, it came with only one 10rd mag. Must be why I got it so cheaply. I've been eyeballing these for a couple of years now. Chiappa makes one, not sure if anyone else does as well or not? But I figured why not go with the Berretta just because. Front sight is dovetailed, which is nice. I doubt I'll change anything but I do like the Tru-Glo front sight on my other guns. Getting old & all that rot. No light rail, which I did NOT want as I think it ruins the look of a gun. Safety, mag release, everything else is identical to my other 92FS'. Well, except for weight of course. 15rd .22 mags are ordered from GB, so they should be here next week. I look forward to shooting this one!

Labor Day was what this weekend was for me for me. My old pick-up died on me. Saturday and Sunday were used up putting a new fuel pump in. Not that bad of a job really, but you have to take the bed off. And in my case, removing a bed cover and liner. What's time consuming, is waiting for help to be available to do the heavy lifting. Today I cut grass, did laundry, dishes and general house cleaning. So yeah, around here Labor Day lived up to its name. However, I did find time yesterday afternoon to go to the party next door for a while, grab a bite to eat and do a bit of socializing. That was nice.

I went in to The Gun Crew shop in Nashville today to pick up a couple of guns I had bought but hadn't gotten yet. (I live 3 hours away now.) They had boocoo .300Blk, .22LR, .45acp, 9mm & 5.7 ammo for sale. The 5.7 is about 1/2 of what I was seeing on GB, so you can help yourself there if that's what you need. I didn't check to see if there was plenty of 5.56 or 7.62x39 but I'm sure he has them as well. None of the ammo was match grade, but the pistol calibers were both FMJ as well as self defense ammo. They had multiple types of 9mm self defense on sale as well, much of it Hornady stuff. Hope this helps some folks.

My thought was training with boarding and yes, affinity for dogs.

Is everyone involved willing to endure the training? Does your wife have an affinity towards dogs? Great idea if all are willing.... Just my .02

My boys went with me this morning down to the Cumberland river where it wasn’t crowded. We caught some catfish and bluegills. Not much to brag about fish wise, bit they are more or less grown, and I don’t get to spent much time with them anymore. It was sure fun.

Some people need pistols with magazine disconnects.

You should be proud. It's hard to buy any better. It's pretty amazing how little has changed in those tools over the decades, except for the overall quality. Lots of that old Delta stuff is still out there running every day, especially Unisaws.

Thankfully, yes. I was buying bricks of .22 at every gun show since about 12-14 years ago. One can never have too much .22 ammo, IMO.

https://imgur.com/a/gietUKZ I think thats an 80s or early 90s 14" bandsaw. Delta Drill press from the 50s or 40s. an original motor off of a tabletop one. A 1950s Dewalt RAS I rewired and put new* bearings in etc. Need to level the table. I completely repainted the Unisaw and put in some older labels just cause I like the older style ones more (after these photos). A 1950s 8" jointer. Runs on 3 phase power so I have it running through a VFD to use my single phase. And my most ambitious rebuild and still not complete is the Delta 12x5" planer also from the 50s. I need to know exactly what gear oil to use and how to set the backlash. I had to get a gear machined and it cost me 300 so I dont want to #### it up by installing it incorrectly or running a gear oil that will eat the bronze alloy its made out of. Oh, you can even see the clamps leaning against the wall.

Good find. You can't beat a full size pistol that shoots .22. I've got a conversion I use on my 1911's that's truly a fun shoot.

Gun was with my brother in an old house he was renting and he found out he had roommates, squirrels! The house had been empty for 2 years. He had several adventures before he got rid of them.

I would send it to Smith & Wesson. They would probably replace the frame for a reasonable price and send it back to you. Then it will be done right.

My wife was from Roanoke Island and we used to go back there every year for at least a couple of weeks. Sometimes I would leave her and the girls there and go back to pick them up a couple of weeks later. We didn't fish with rod and reels but the whole family was in the fishing and seafood business. We would go out shrimping, clamming, mullet netting ( they only talked me into that once ) and harvested oysters. We also had one nephew that ran crab pots so we lived on a seafood diet while we were there. Normally brought home 50 - 60 pounds of shrimp and some soft shelled crabs when we came back home to Tn.

Don’t underestimate the importance of good, friendly neighbors. They can be a life saver in a rough time. The best way to have good, friendly neighbors is to be one.

I believe that while high or low shots generally are the result of uncontrolled breathing, shots to one side or the other of target are normally related to trigger pull technique.

Of the two, I'd go with the SA .357. Much more versatile with ammo selection and just better suited to the task asked for. As for myself, I much prefer a DA revolver in either .44 Special or .45 Colt. I also agree that an encounter with a bear is extremely unlikely. More likely critter encounters would be feral hogs or wild dogs. Even that is pretty slim. The real threat is from bad people.

I've converted plenty of fixtures and it's super easy. All you have to do is bypass the ballast and direct connect the power to the led tubes and you are done. Can be done in 10 mins or less and much cheaper.

Haven’t replaced any true fluorescent fixtures with LED like the kitchen lights, but when those ballasts go then so do the lights. I have been replacing CFL bulbs with LED and am all for it.

Yes squirrels will eat anything. Smith Wesson Shield 9mm. Has anyone ever repaired a polymer frame. I’m thinking of having my local body shop plastic weld it. Several YouTube videos use epoxy. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
