Yes. I’ve received flu shot, pneumonia shot and covid vaccine. I’m also considering the shingles vaccine. I’m at the point where I know I have fewer days in front of me than behind me, so I’m not concerned about side effects or long term issues with vaccines. I just need to see the world.8 points

For what it’s worth, if you’ve got ETFs in your retirement fund, you’ve probably at least got Pfizer and J&j in there I deeply care about this community - and if I can help anyone - that’s all the reason I’ve got and all the motivation I need. Full stop. As a forensic professional I’ve had too many heart wrenching conversations this year with folks who have lost their loved ones. I’m not a front line worker by any stretch. But I’m so tired. Everyone I work with is just flat exhausted. I worry for our nurses’ and ambulance drivers’ mental well being. How many hands can you hold and cry as they die without their loved ones near? There is a metric ton of bad information out there. It’s become hard to figure out who to trust. If I can use my voice to help people find their way through it I will. Offer stands. DMs are open. Happy to talk anytime.4 points

Had the procedure this afternoon. So far so good. Took about an hour with the DR in the his office. Got there at 3:30, home by 5:30. Not a lot of pain. Came home with a cath and bag on my leg and need to keep it until Monday then go back to have it removed. Said may have swelling and blood in urin, but not to be overly concerned unless excessive. So far, not a bad experience.3 points

Not a pleasant subject BUT, having a procedure done on my prostate this afternoon. Called "Rezum" and is supposed to relieve the pressure on my bladder (going often) and the restricted flow. Not looking forward to having it, but best of the 2 options I was offered. Didn't want the "Roto Rooter" process. You young whipper snappers enjoy your youth, but I will let you old guys know how it goes.2 points

I hate that anyone in the US is being forced to take this or risk their job, etc. I also hate that people distrust any and all authority/government/science to the point that they don’t want to take it.2 points

I did the same. Now if I could find a vaccine to keep me from opening my big mouth at the wrong time I'd be all set.2 points

It ain't no damn fun! I didn't realize I was old until I got a dose of the shingles a couple of years back. I do not recommend them.2 points

EVERYBODY who employs people is needing help right now. It would sure be a good time to scale back on .gov handouts. Too bad we don't have any leadership at the moment.2 points

Got the flu shot last August a little too early, going to wait till closer to October this year. We always go to Publix our insurance covers and we like getting those $10 dollar gift cards. I am due for the updated shingles stuff I think and the updated pneumonia shot.2 points

Wouldn't help me, Mac. If he'd lie about anything else, he'd certainly lie about his financials. You have way more faith in government officials; especially unelected, unaccountable ones than I do.2 points

He’s required to file a financial disclosure form with the Office of Government Ethics. It’s a public document so I’m sure it’s available online. If you dig into it, let us know.2 points

LOL! I didn't think anything much about it until I saw your post, but McDonalds at the Hermitage I40 exit has a similar sign. "Paid daily" or something similar. That's fishing on the bottom ain't it?2 points

Considering the Govt has been caught lying & changing stats, it's impossible to believe a word they're saying. Fauci has been caught red handed lying about his connections with the Chinese lab & funding them. His credibility, if it ever existed at all, has been long well shot to death. "Just two more weeks to flatten the curve!" (insert eye roll here)2 points

Well, I very much and sincerely hope that I do not regret it, but I just got the first of the Pfizer shots today. The one thing that I personally have gotten 100% fully sick of is the fact that it can be hard to know who to trust. You can go on the internet today and read many hours worth of “research”, some of it from apparently knowledgeable sources, that state for example the vaccines are extremely dangerous. That can be countered with “official research” that dismisses nearly all the claims against. It can be exhausting, even overwhelming, to make your own mind up. I have always been very, very pro-vaccine. However, I have experienced much anxiety over a COVID vaccine. In theory it should be a great thing, but it is very easy to allow a voice in the back of your mind that instills doubt.2 points

Thanks for the well-considered post However, please think about this: Earth's initial atmosphere was CO-rich (temp and sea level was higher - we know this from geological evidence) However, the evolution of photosynthetic marine algae proliferated across the planet and we had an oxygenation event (we know this again from geological evidence; chemistry changes with sediments; fossils; etc). The fact is, myriads of colonial-living single-celled organisms (stromatolites) permanently changed the climate. Subsequently, profound changes in biology are met with physical changes (i.e. the advent of the coal forests again released much oxygen). If these lower forms of biology have had such a major effect to the earth system, then consider what our activities contribute (as an aside: humans in fact move more sediment, each year, than all the rivers in the world combined) We are releasing fossil carbon that has indeed been sequestered (biologically, mind you), for millions to billions of years (via hydrocarbons, coal and carbonate rocks used for cement). This rapid re-introduction of carbon does indeed have an effect . We are also altering natural sequestration and even changing the solar balance by reducing albedo (planetary reflectance) meaning we absorb even more solar energy. All this is consistent with the realization that climate is the product of solar, planetary and biological factors.2 points

I can't get over the price of .22 LR. At least what I'm finding anyway. $10.00 to $11.00 for 50 rd. box. I didn't buy any.1 point

Johnny B will be at the station as long as Johnny B wants to be there IMO. No offense to Dan or Pamela, but I don't think either one is a good choice for that spot, just a personal preference. I know by no means that he is ready or capable at this point, but his son Campbell that he did the Podgoats podcast with wants to get into the "industry".1 point

A lady in our office turned down the shingles vaccine and came down with it two weeks later. It’s been months and she’s still not fully recovered. She said there were a couple of days where she thought it was going to kill her and that it would have come as a relief.1 point

She's not saying it dropped; she alleges her purse just swung out and the gun fired. Sounds less blameworthy than "I was fiddling with my holstered gun in my purse and accidentally fired it."1 point

CVS Minute Clinic is the only one at a CVS that will do the J&J shot, down here at least. It was definitely a nurse who stabbed me. The pharmacist is the one who jabs you for the mutant DNA shot.1 point

Been loading and casting for over 50 years.I'd be in the poor house if I didn't. To date I, either am or have loaded, load 38sp, 357 mag, 44 spl, 44 mag,9 mm, 45 acp, 45 colt, 223, 22-250, 308, 30/06. If it's center fire I load it. The cheapest thing I ever bought was a set of loading dies.1 point
-
Speaking for myself, I started reloading in 1967 ( 30-06 ). Mostly money then, and maybe better rounds. Today, depends on what you're reloading. Currently, I'm reloading 45/70 for my Henry lever rifle. When I first bought it, I bought a box of Federal Fusion 300 gr. HP. Supposed to be the cat's meow. When I shot the target, it looked like I had shot buckshot at 50 yds. All over the paper. Finished the box for the brass & started reloading Hornady 300gr HP, over 40.5 grs IMR4198. 3 shots in basically the same widened hole at 25 yds. A box of 45/70, if you can find it, runs from $2.00 to $4.00 a round depending on the load. I can easily beat that, but it's the accuracy I get. Plus, I just enjoy doing it. Passes off time when the weather is bad. Keeps me off the streets for a while, LOL. Everybody's needs differ. I haven't bought a box of ammo since. I've got enough components now to last me a while, plus a bunch loaded up. I'm good for a looog time.1 point

Love the Trout Magnet stuff. I always have a TM ultralight setup with me. If I am getting skunked on the big stuff I drag it out. Never once has it failed to catch me fish. Color is dependent on water but my go to are White, Bison, Pink, green/red flake. Usually on a Chartreuse head but occasionally on black. 2lb SOS line with a 2lb fluro leader. I have landed 4 to 5 lb fish without issue on the 2lb SOS. I actually have a bass finesse rig setup with the 4lb SOS as well.1 point

What I have is a "Get Home" bag. Its designed to get me back home if I'm caught out somewhere when SHTF. Pistol, ammo, Knife, socks, 4 MREs that I can stretch for up to a week or more, two canteens plus a life straw, first aid kit, poncho, paracord, lighters and the all important toilet paper. There is also a blanket wrapped in a piece of plastic for shelter. But that may be dumped depending on weather and need. The whole kit fits inside a small backpack. Zip lock bags are excellent for keeping small items together and they're waterproof.1 point

I think he is calling it a H&H because of the cartridge's name, not actual H&H rifle. He doesn't know the difference. Had a guy try to tell me his Hi Point was a 40 Glock, low information owner.1 point

It must be arrogance to apply physics... It is simple math to calculate the volume of human CO2 emissions and subsequently derive a value for the heat retention of this additional gas. And we KNOW the atmosphere has absolute CO2 increases and we can further attribute these to human releases because the isotopic value of carbon in the atmosphere has become lighter. And this is just one part of the system we are altering.1 point

I am sure H&H made some 300 H&H's, but any actually made by H&H I would expect to be in the tens of thousands of dollars range. I would get the serial number and call H&H if he really thinks it is an H&H made gun. I suspect he had no idea what he is talking about, but you never know.1 point

As a guy who has had a couple bad days, I'd suggest any "bad day" kit should focus on stuff for a long walk. 1 - for feet: Comfortable shoes, several pair of socks, moleskin, duct tape, foot powder, extra shoelaces. 2 - hydration: containers w/ at least 3 quarts of water, filter or iodine for more. 3 - clothing: season-appropriate outfit for long walk outdoors, hat, sunblock, and bug spray. 4 - medicine: stuff to treat pain, diarrhea, fatigue, and itching, also a minimal first aid kit and chap stick. 5 - general: TP. Flashlight. Radio. Rope or cord. Multi tool. Map of your area. Compass. Protractor. Money. Some food. An inexpensive general issue assault pack or backpack will normally hold this stuff.1 point

I have taken 100's of squirrels with a 410.Had a man that once purchased every one I brought to him. He kept me in money for 3 years killing rabbits, squirrels, and quail. I used Remington 3" # 6 on all, but 7 1/2 on quail. Out to 35 yards, always worked. Gave the 410 to my grandson last fall. He paid me .50 and gave me a replacement shell for every animal I brought him. Hunted rabbits with the 410 not too long ago. # 6 Remington 3". Have killed with 2 1/2" but not as good.1 point

Well other than the primers those prices I quoted were today's prices that is if the XTP's were in stock. If they shop around there are still good deals. You have to hunt. Plus I also cast lead bullets for .38 cal and .40 cal for my plinking loads and it would really hurt your feelings to tell you about $0.06 per round or $6.00 per hundred for plinking ammo than other that reloaded were on Gunbroker for $150.00 per hundred lead round nose bullets for .38 special.1 point
