  1. Phil Valentine didn’t make it: https://www.newschannel5.com/news/newschannel-5-investigates/outspoken-conservative-radio-host-phil-valentine-dies-after-battling-covid-19 I may be unlikely to change anyone’s mind at this point, but if you’re on the fence about getting vaccinated, I’m happy to answer any questions and provide resources you can trust. Pfizer should have full approval next week. Delta may as well be a different pandemic. And damn I’m tired of losing people.

  2. What's great about 22's is the vast number of types of shooting you can do. For me, Rimfire Benchrest is my passion, but I can have about as much fun shooting just about any 22. This was just last night. Got to where I don't even want to drag things to my range. Just setup in the shop and shoot.

  3. The old democrat switcheroo. Act like your punishing the bad guys when you're really pushing your gun control agenda.

  4. A little while back I posted about obtaining this pair of rifles. I know we have some 22 guys that will appreciate these. These are consecutive serial numbered Remington 40xb's from the CMP. What's somewhat rare about these is 1) They are part of a small Air Force run towards the end of the government contract for 40x's and 2) they are as close to new as you will find out of the CMP. In one case there is zero wear on the lugs or the lug raceways. The other has so little I bet it hasn't been cycled 100 times. The only real downside is the bolt's don't match the guns, but that's basically the way it is with CMP guns. Anyway, I found a pair of excellent condition 20x Unertl's to go on them. I have had mounts on order for 8 weeks and they finally came in yesterday. Headed to a buddies this afternoon to shoot these. I love shooting my custom 22's, but something about shooting these old guns is so satisfying.

  5. I doubt it. There seems to be this mindset that if you deny it exists it will go away. Denial is ugly business. As I've said before, it's real and it will kill you if given a chance. It's a lot less lethal than the uber left would lead you to believe, but it can kill you nonetheless. I just can't understand being so stupid and dogmatic that you're too stupid to get a ####ing vaccination.

  7. I have a feeling Russian 7.62x39 will soon cost as much as 30 year old Chinese if not more, and it’s half the the quality of Norinco. I wonder if there are any non-Russian sources for 5.45x39?
    2 points
  8. You are correct, sir. I still have a stash of that delightful Norinco ammo. A dime a pop was all it costed, and it was good stuff.

  11. 2015 is officially the year of the AK for me. This year alone I have purchased two Century (CAI) "Iraqi Contractor" Romanian WASR 10's, a 2013 production Century (CAI) Romanian WASR 10, Century (CAI) Romanian RPK AES10B, + a Yugoslavian N-PAP DF. I have another Century (CAI) "Iraqi Contractor" Romanian WASR10 + a Century (CAI) Romanian Draco AK pistol en route to my FFL as I write this. As you can see, I am a fan of the weapon system through + through. At the present moment, I am debating the purchase of a Arsenal SLR107FR but I am stuck on if I should pick the variant with plum furniture or all black. Decisions, decisions! Without further ado, I present to you my humble selection of AK's. 12. Hi all! I've used my new 3D printer to make a replacement lid for the Lee Hand Priming Tool with the round tray, which you can't buy anymore from Lee or FS Reloading. Mine got broke, so I designed one that fits the round Lee tray and thought there might be a few others that may need one, so I'll be happy to print one up for you. I'm asking $5.00 to your door, and $2.00 for additional lids if sent in the same shipment (up to 4 total.) If you already have a 3D printer, I've posted the files on Thingiverse so you can print your own. I prefer PayPal Friends & Family, but I'll also take a check or cash (if you trust the PO and/or me.) If you live in the Memphis area and we do this FTF, it's $2.00 for the first, and a $1.00 each additional lid (up to 4.) Please send me a PM if you're interested. Regards, Ed

  14. The spraying part is my concern. Fairly confident I could pop one in the head as close as they get. No interest in trapping. I’ve heard about the trap and blanket method but that’s just more trouble. Eradication is my goal, plus if I went and got some hot Cheetos, I’d eat them all before getting down to business, lol.

  15. They are just the noisiest about not taking it. Minorities have a fairly low vaccination rate and we all know how they generally lean.

  16. It seems the republicans/conservatives are mostly the ones refusing the vaccine. They're also the ones filling up hospitals and dying. If this keeps up, the democrats won't have to cheat in the next election.

  20. NOT FAIR. But I definitely like the idea of that. I am only 2 miles/5 minutes from the range where I shoot RF matches, so I can't complain too much, but I do have to use the truck to get there and haul all the associated stuff. LOL

  21. What I am saying is if all the Russia ammo dries up in order to keep the sheeple in lock step, the gov't could have designed arms that accept a different proprietary round just for the military. Essentially leaving the sheeple out in the cold and with less available ammo.

  23. I said a long time ago "they" don't need to control the firearms, just the ammo. Kind of like a slingshot and no rocks!! Now is the time for the army to get some "new" calibers of arms that aren't 9mm or 5.56, and make them for the military only!!

  28. I believe 5.45 is currently produced by both Red Army Standard as well as Wolf, both of which are located in Ukraine. Surplus 7N6 has been gone for while. Most of the surplus Russian 54R imports has dried up a long time ago as well. Seems like this will only drastically impact Tulammo and maybe Monarch(are they still Ruskie produced?). Still sucks but hopefully those crafty Russians will figure out how to export it in such a way that it is no longer considered 'Russian' ammunition.

  30. Just so we’re all on the same page here, nobody is buying that the sanctions have anything to do with whatever the pretext is, right? We all understand that it was about the supply of these items into the US civilian hands that was the issue, right?

  35. When you are around touristy cades cove I recommend you check out some local areas in and around Sevier County which may fit your list of wants. Look at Townsend, the Dupont area in Seymour, New Market, and Dandridge (2nd oldest town in TN) - These have small town, rural feel with plenty of space while still being close to everything. Further up above Sevier County you can find Rogersville which is also a really nice town. The plateau around Cookeville is beautiful but much more prone to tornados than East TN. Being from Florida, that may not bother you though.

  36. I agree that we do have the best health care. The best doctors, nurses and technicians in the world. The problem is the cost of this care. That cost is controlled by huge corporations that knowingly bloat these costs for huge profits. They don't give a damn about the patients, only maximum and bloated profits.

  38. I am with the hire it done crowd now. But in my younger/dumber/poorer/cheaper days I would start at the end on the ground and start trimming limbs to lighten up the load at the hinged parts. If I got enough off to where it was hanging free and the hinge still didn't break loose at least you have less hanging out there that could cause a strange twist when it let loose. I would tie off with my tractor and put a little tension on it to be sure it went in the right direction when cut loose. The hope is it would continue to fold to the ground till you had little left to cut off at the hinge. As for the poison ivy no suggestion. I am lucky not to be very allergic but try not to push my luck.

  41. My grandfather, John Conroy- who passed over 3 years ago at 99 years of age. He tended to tell lighter stories about his experiences as a sergeant in the US Army's 1st Armored Division, from north Africa, up through Italy. Mainly interesting places he saw, or trading his cigarettes for chocolate and candy (he never drank nor smoked). But a couple times in my life, he talked a little of some tougher times and battles such as being pinned down for months in Anzio, or the battle against Rommel's 21st Panzer Division in Africa .

  42. A simple farm boy drafted into WW II. Trained as a machine gunner with the heavy weapons platoon. He never talked much about the war. What little I know was pieced together from the rare comments he made over many years. He fought in Sicily and Italy. He landed on Omaha beach with the 29th Infantry Division on D Day. Somewhere about half way across France, he and his machine gun were defending a hill against a German attack. Unable to get past him, the Germans called in an artillery strike. He was damned near blown to pieces. They never thought he'd make it to the aid station, much less home. But he survived. After a year and a half at an Army hospital in Waco, Texas. He finally went home. The highest rank he ever actually achieved was private First Class. At the time he was hit, he was the acting Platoon Sergeant. His injuries caused him problems for years after. Eventually he lost the lower part of his right leg just below the knee some 20 years later. He never complained nor was he bitter about the war and what it had done to him. He was proud to have done his duty. He was my Father.

  44. Smedley Butler... Old Corps Marine... Winner of 2 Brevet Medals and 1 Congressional Medal of Honor... By the way, the Brevet Medal was the officers version of the Medal of Honor in the old days... Served in the Boxer Rebellion with Dan Daily and Herbert Hoover. Fought in the " Bananna Wars " n WW1. Advanced to the rank of Marine Corps General, and retired as the result of a spat with then President Hoover... Became a great advocate of isolationism and a proponent of using a plebicite (... Look it up...) to determine when to go to war, and he toured the countryside after his retirement speaking about his beliefs. He was the first " truther " as regards to who really runs the gubt of the USA... He was slandered as a socialist n a pacificast. Nothing is farther from the truth. Read his book: " War is a Racket ", and ya will see why the political class and the captains of unbridled capitalism hated him... His biographical sketch is fantastic. Close second... Alvin Cullum York... WW1 hero n great Tennessean... Admirin leroy the militant isolationist...
