As cute as the baby Broncos of 1965-1977 were, I don't think they really counted until they made the full size in 1978 (just my opinion). I have a 1979 and she's a family treasure. I have considered selling Matilda several times and just never do. It's insane to me how well she rides for her age. And she can turn on a dime. The Bronco Sport should have been a hard no for Ford. I saw my first one the other day and felt sad. The Badlands should have been the release and they should have brought back a full size Bronco as an option. Also Johnny, you are right too. The Coyote engine would have been smart. We have a F150 with the Coyote engine and a Whipple Supercharger (it's basically a super snake minus the ugly add ons). Monkey doesn't drive like me, but when I am alone in Lucille, I love to whiz past all the "fast cars". They never see it coming and it makes me way too happy. The only disadvantage is, here in Cookeville we have PD, SO and THP so I gotta be a wee bit careful.3 points

Other than the sickness and death resulting from COVID, the saddest reality I have experienced in my work as a mental health therapist is the brokenness that arguing about COVID has brought to families, marriages, and friendships.2 points

My best gun buddy started tinkering around with his CZs again, so I offered him my SPD. I don't shoot it and prefer my 75B Omega when I do feel CZexy. He asked if I'd be interested in his Glock 45; great guy, just can't conceal it well due to the full size grip length. Sure, a second Glock in the house is a good thing, especially since #1 is a G3 G17. I never imagined it would become my EDC pistol, considering I'm fairly well invested the Beretta APX series. After I got it, I thought, this is odd, 19 slide/17 frame..did some Googling and discovered it's target audience is LEO vs. civilian. Good news for me as my body shape, professional and casual attire allow me to carry a full size pistol. I have for years and if I'm concerned about printing, I need smaller than the so called compact versions offered. Down to single stack subcompact size. What I like: With medium sized hands - no back strap and undercut trigger guard, I am able to get a nice high grip. My trigger finger / pad is then in a good position to consistently touch the trigger in the same place. I like the little trigger bit of take up, it's smooth with a definite wall. Click (or bang) and reset is as good as any other pistol I own. Grip shape is well done with the slight bevel on the front strap leading in the the sides, texturing is grippy but not ouchy. I like the front grasping grooves, left handed slide release and melted edged. Only upgrade: AmeriGlo sights1 point

If you’ve never stopped and got food from a roadside Mexican taco stand, don’t cheat yourself. I doubt there’s any better food on the planet. That is all.1 point

Several years ago we ordered food to be delivered at work. We gave separate orders over the phone so we would know the price each employee had to pay.The delivery boy brought in the food with the total price. I asked him to give me a price for each person but he said he couldn't because he didn't have a calculator with him. I picked up a pencil and started dividing up into each person's cost. With quite a surprised look on his face he said "you can do that with a pencil"?1 point

What to put in depends on what your intended use is? To a certain extent the contents are generic, but fine tuning it depends on what you are figuring on needing it for? Is this a 'get home from work bag'? You work in a city, live 17 miles outside... or whatever? You'll find certain things useful in that situation. Is this a 'bugging out to my secret cabin in the woods' bag? Do you have cache sites along the way, how far are you going, how many people? Back in my life in the great-white-north a lot of folks kept a 24-hour pack in their car, they sold them at stores for 30 bucks, assumed you were stuck in a ditch in the snow until daybreak... emergency blanket, some granola bars and peanut butter, bottled water, hand-warmers, simple med-kit. Saved quite a few lives no doubt.1 point

That is not a teachers fault there. That is a parents fault. All children should be able to tell time before ever reaching school age.......JMHO1 point

The Parkland flea market across from Cedars of Lebanon state park has a dozen or so Mexican food trucks every Sunday. I've had several good meals there.1 point

Men who eat genuine Mexican food from roadside vendors are infinitely less susceptible to COVID-19 and Tetanus. It's science. (Disclaimer: Not actual medical advice)1 point

... and a killer nursery just down the road from Outdoor Junction, too. Just continue round the bend another mile or so!1 point

I know(roughly) about where you are! I've shot at Bend of the River several times, but it's been long ago. Dad, my brother-in-law and I were there together on my last trip. Dad proceeded to educate us on the finer points of Skeet shooting! Kicked our butts! Miss him and those days. Actually I miss Tad as well.1 point

We left Nashville (Crieve Hall area) and moved to the plateau back at the end of 2014. We moved into our current home at the beginning of 2015. Cookeville is selling pretty high right now. I would recommend looking outside of Cookeville in the smaller "incorporated" areas. We live in an area outside of Cookeville (Jackson County) called Tick. Ridiculous name? Yes. But we live on a ridge between 2 valleys and honestly it's amazing. You have to look, but there are hidden gems for sure. But we're 15 minutes to Cookeville or Livingston. So it's super convenient. Cookeville has TONS of libs (thanks Tech) but there are tons and tons of conservatives. We live close to Bend in the River which is an outdoor range (less than 10 minutes away) but I haven't been there. I know quite a few vets that shoot there and love it. There are quite a few good gun shops up here. When we first moved here I frequented The Gun Shop and Trading Post in Livingston. I haven't been in ages though because Monkey said I spent too much money there. There is a shop called Outdoor Junction with a range also right off of 40, but I won't step foot in there. Bad experience while trying to buy. Quite honestly, I love our house here. We have 4 acres and it is quiet. "Town" is too busy for me, so clearly you know I hate going to Nashville now. BUT the beautiful part about living here is that we're really a middle area between Nashville and Knoxville. I can make it to either city in about 1.5 hours. Personally at this point, I prefer Knoxville for shopping but we still return to Nashville for Dr. Appointments and what not. If you are interested in help looking in this area, DM me and I can send you realtor names if you need one. Good luck!1 point

I gave a young lady at a drive thru a $10 bill and and 2 dimes once for food that was $6.20. Just so she wouldn't have to give me change. It messed her up for about 30 seconds.1 point

USPSA Limited division 2011, 20+1 rds of .40. It was about $3800 in 2014, payable up front and an 18 month wait. I’m a big Infinity fan but my other ones were all purchased used except this one. Not sure I’d do it today, as much as prices have risen in the past few years. Every gun they build is a “custom”, spec’d by the customer through their Gunbuilder online tool. You can design one, pick all your options and submit it for a quote. Goes without saying anyone here is more than welcome to shoot it, should we ever have the opportunity1 point

Short answer No, in the 90's a Nashville Gun manufacturing shop got a contract for the from the Federal Prison System to make a special 870 for them (Scattergun Technology) Remington shipped them 870 Magnum and Police Magnums. They would then refinish the gun put on slug sights and anything else requested. Ten or so years later Remington figured we can do the same thing here and cut out middleman and in meantime S T sold out to Wilson, Wilson went on to sue S T because they fudged how many orders they had at time of sale. Wilson went after the civi market with it. I have had both and would take the Remington Factory over Wilson. Fist you get the original finish not the Wilson aftermarket finish. Couple options Buy a Police 870 off GT in Chattannoga or Gunbroker or get a well used 870 and send it to Wilson -see Wilson Steal on their website and for $200-300 returned you have a Wilson. Older Police 870's were marked Magnum then Police Magnum and now Police. They sell only to Police Distributors but you can find new or used ones on the market.1 point

I have USCCA. I don’t make use of the training materials they offer, but carry them strictly for the insurance. I’ve never had to make use of their services, thank God, so I can’t say anything other than I liked their coverage options the best. *Thread moved to proper forum section.*1 point

I caught a 258LB Halibut today. I don't like keeping the huge ones, but it swallowed the lure and was badly bleeding from the gills by the time we got it near the boat. Came up in 15 mins from 200' deep and only took 2 cracks from the baseball bat to be put down. The smaller ones are honestly better eating but made some fish and chips tonight with it(and for 20 others) and it tasted good. It will feed a lot of people.0 points

Is this for real? How can it be harder to put stuff on a tray instead of putting it in a bag? If anything, bagging is harder. There really is no hope for the future.0 points
