This has nothing to do with HIPPA( does not apply to private non-medical business) or the constitution. Tennessee is a work at will state. Employers can set any requirement for work.(obviously it can't be discriminatory) You wife has the option of not working there if she does not want to. Not saying this is right, just the way it is. Their place, their rules.10 points

1911. Doesn’t really matter which exact one. I just love the gun. Not always that practical to carry, does not hold many rounds, it pretty low-tech by some of today’s standards. But I have always loved the 1911. I don’t carry a 1911, and I love my P365XL/507K for that. But there is something about the 1911 that is just so….. right.5 points

Welp-I bit the bullet and went and took the vaccine myself- I don't want my Wife getting something I am not willing to do- Perhaps this will help in lessen the fear a bit- Than again if I croak she can always say-see I told Ya so-4 points

We can survive it, maybe on some cases not individually but as a whole. I worry about the costs (not financial, but personal, freedoms, joy, friendships, relationships, memories, etc).2 points

They are already talking about booster shots before the winter, so I fully expect a mask mandate. There will also probably be another lockdown. I can’t complain about how people feel about their individual freedoms, but as long as there is a perceived need for a vaccine we will be riding this merry go round for the foreseeable future. I hope we can survive it.2 points

Their company, their rules. Either accept it or quit. Covid is making a big comeback. The Delta strain is kicking butt big time and expected to get much worse. Companies requiring vaccination are just trying to stay in business. At the current rate, I fully expect requiring masks to be back soon. I also wouldn't be surprised if we ended up back in full lock down.2 points

Hard to pick just one. I love 1911s and S&W revolvers. Doesn't really matter what model. I suppose if I had to pick just one, it would be my S&W Model 18 .22lr. I shoot this one more than any other gun I own.2 points

I thought folks here were all about businesses being able to make their own decisions? You can't have it both ways. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Masterpiece_Cakeshop_v._Colorado_Civil_Rights_Commission#Opinion_of_the_Court2 points

For what it's worth, the case that's really gotten the snowball rolling downhill on mandates is the Indiana University case that just went before the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals. Of the 15 judges on the court - only four were appointed by Democratic administrations. Damon Leichty (a Trump appointee) wrote the opinion in the case. They denied an injunction pending an appeal - meaning they may petition the Supreme Court but the decision is going forward anyway. And, most would doubt that a majority conservative court is going to be terribly anxious to overturn a majority conservative appeals court. Like it or not - mandates are likely here for the duration.2 points

If you are in the surrounding Knoxville area, I will be holding the Enhanced Handgun Carry class at Pellissippi State, Hardin Valley, Saturday, Nov 13. Starts 8 AM. Call 865-539-7167 for details. This is the permit that gives you the best protection and broadest carry privileges in TN plus the most state reciprocity.1 point

I once asked a co-worker who is a former Marine and was in Fallujah both times what was hotter. The 100+ dry heat in Iraq or the 90+ high humidity heat in the southern US. His answer.. Hot is Hot!1 point

I had to put chicken wire around my gardens to keep the rabbits and such from eating everything. I also got a decent air rifle for the occasional game pie. Those might still be salvageable if you can get them protected.1 point

We’ve canned 31 quarts of green beans and probably gave that many away. They’ve just now started producing good. I guess I’ll give more away as we’re about tired of fooling with them. It’s raining cherry tomatoes here!1 point

Put a thermometer in the trunk on a hot sunny day and see how high the temp gets. Bet it will not exceed the high operating temperature of 140F for the EOtech. Now in the Arizona desert it might be a concern.1 point

Pull the slide all the way rearward, let go, and let 'er slam home. That's how they were designed to operate. Just shoot it and enjoy the genius of John Browning.1 point

It's pretty normal do have a slight "drag" the last 1/2" as the slide goes into battery if you're riding the slide back by hand. You have to remember everything is coming together at that point. But loaded, you should either pull back the slide and let it go, or if it's at slide lock, you can do the same or hit the slide release. If it functions fine when firing, you're good to go. At 100 rounds, it's not even broke in yet! I've got 5000+ rounds (IDPA shooter) through my Range Officer and the only thing I've had to change was a recoil spring at about 2000+ rounds.1 point

There actually is a state law that voids other violations in the case of justifiable self defense use of a firearm. Several years ago in Knoxville, a convicted felon shot a convenience store robber and could not be prosecuted for possession of a weapon.1 point

Randy has inspired me to post. Super shooting with the rifle sir! Don't really do much rifle but my pistol group shooting continues to get better. Successfully starting to put 5 on headbox at 25yd and almost a fantastic group but a stupid flier to right! Also, new M&P shield plus, performance center model with crimson trace garbage dot - really great little gun set up. Going to get another with 507k milled for carry gun. Not too shabby for slimline pistol and 2" dots at 10yd.1 point

My parents had the same problem and had a deer nuisance permit for several years. They also usually have a big flock of turkey's running around, but they vanish into thin air on opening day.0 points

I had the TWRA out at the property a few years ago to show them some bait piles being left around the wildlife management area behind me. I showed them my little apple tree's and all the damage the deer had been doing, mentioned I may have fired off a few 9mm in their general direction one day to try to scare them off, didn't try to hit them, wasn't in-season. Don't want to kill them...? "Do you own a shotgun?" "Yessir, 20 ga." "Get yourself some target loads, let a few fly from about 50 yds., it won't pierce their skin but a few mm's, and give them a reason to never come back. Worst case you can harvest them outside hunting season due to nuisance ordinances with your homestead, but need approval first, I can give you one of our forms, its no problem here..." You know I haven't seen the bastards in the pasture garden since? I meant the deer... Now I have a clutch of Turkeys eating my squash and melons! Theres 3 hens and about 20 young... any turkey hunters?0 points
