I've had a pinched nerve in my neck along my spine that has been causing me a lot of almost constant pain all the way down my left arm to my hand. It was so bad that, while it wasnt real debilitating, but the pain was significant and no medication seemed to help. i was referred to a neurosurgeon, Dr. Ernest Wright, and he performed a surgery Friday to remove 4 collapsed vertebrae in my neck and replace them with spacers. I was in Ascension St Thomas Hospital for Specialty Surgery over Friday night after surgery and discharged yesterday. For this surgery, they go in thru the front of the throat to the spine, so i have soreness and some pain in the front as well as more pain in the back, and it'll be hard to eat and drink (swallowing) for a few days, but I think the surgery is going to fix the issue. If anyone has to have this procedure done, I highly recommend Dr. Wright and St Thomas. The staff in ICU that took care of me before and after my surgery were very caring, comforting and professional. Never having had major surgery before, I was, quite frankly, very afraid, but the nurses went out of their way to be calming and reassuring to me.6 points

Well in my case a "trunk gun" is one that will basically live in the trunk of my car. A "truck gun" would be one that lives in someones truck.2 points

Well there is a global chip shortage, so they probably used whatever Bangladesh-made crap they could find. Hmmmmm maybe the chip shortage is due to all these shots…2 points

Gunman shot and killed by Metro PD officers responding. Motive not yet being reported. As usual....the corporate dimwits released a statement "The safety of our team members is a top priority for our Company and we maintain strict security protocols and a no weapons policy at all of our facilities. We are working with the local police as they investigate this matter." (emphasis mine) To paraphrase Chris Tucker: Do you understand the words that are coming out of your mouth? Of course the news reader (erm....anchor) Brittany Weiner said at the end of the story this morning something like "It's hard to believe something like this could happen in our community." Do you watch your own newscasts? Ya'll cover shootings EVERY DAY and it feels like Nashville has workplace/random stuff at least once a year.1 point

Yea Fords are real good, I go to church with a couple and last December I commented on "did you get a new car"? And they said no, and yes. They had a new Ford Edge and after multiple times in the shop in Cookeville, they gave them a new one same color. Because they couldn't fix it, I would have asked for a refund. Because next time if it is out of warranty who is going to fix it???1 point

At this point it will come down to the local DA. 20 some odd years ago the local news did a report on concealed carry. this was before we had shall issue laws. the DAs of middle TN all said they would not prosecute someone for unlawful carry if they had been involved in a justifiable self defense shooting. my how times change.1 point

ah yes, I remember it not so well. Being a smoker, my insurance paid for a bone growth simulator. I still have it if you and your surgeon would like you o have it.1 point

First thought...disgruntled customer. I'm told by a friend that these are painful. Secondly, the news people must make it sound like a once-in-a-lifetime event that just cannot be explained. Sadly it is not that. As monkeylizard says, shootings like this are getting to be all too frequent. No matter the reason for it, thugs, individuals, or even unhappy family members are resorting to violence these days. There seems to be no common sense in the actions of many today. There is no fear of penalty from the law it seems. Yes I know this individual paid heavily for his actions, but probably thought he'd get away with it.1 point

Sorry you had to go thru this, very sorry. Having endured spinal problems for many years, mostly arthritis from age and injuries; I can sympathasize with you. I'm not comparing pains, I think neck would be the worst. I complain when I sleep in a bad position and get cricks in the neck. Can't imagine, and don't want to know yours. Prayers buddy for easing of the pain, and recovery.1 point

I pray for your speedy recovery. Had his same procedure done a few years back. sill have some stiffness and pain but nothing like before. My voice changed some, of course I smoke so ha didn't help there. Did they send you home with one of the bone growth stimulating collars?1 point

Yes, that's what I mean. You may find a different situation wherever you move. I live half an hour from Crossville, and less than an hour from Knoxville, but have found that it's really difficult to find skilled or unskilled labor of any kind. There's a retirement / resort community nearby, and it seems that most of the trades people get enough work there and really don't want to come the extra distance. Again, your mileage may vary.1 point

We've only got a couple bean plants, but they've been making beans like crazy. I think we've eaten them nearly every night for 2 weeks. Had I expected this much yield, I would've saved them for canning.1 point

Give it a few more hours. When I got mine it felt like I took a punch from Mike Tyson in my arm. And I wish I could blame brain fog on the vaccine.1 point

I hope everything goes well for you. Having had back surgeries on 3 occasions, albeit at the other end of the spine (lumbar), I can definitely sympathize. Don't scrimp on whatever they give you for rehab/post surgical stretching and strengthening, that goes a long way towards eventually alleviating pain and helping you avoid subsequent "dissection" events ...1 point

Status Update: Injection site in my shoulder was a little sore for most of the evening. Not a biggie. A little Ibuprofen and some self massaging ( giggity ) took care of that. I woke up this morning with a bit of a sore throat but no other problems. My energy level seems normal, no fever, and no aches that I don't normally have. I did notice that I forgot something rather simple while I was doing my normal morning routine, so I'll try to remember to pay attention to this and see if it's the same "brain fog" that I had with actual COVID earlier this year. I honestly wouldn't be a bit surprised to see some strange occurrences like that as my body's naturally-acquired immunity kicks in and punches the J&J payload in the balls. STILL no wireless charging capability. The government microchip I got might be a dud.1 point

As I've been saying, people need to determine who they are going to trust for their medical advice (such as their doctor) and then weigh that heavily against all of the other noise being made about COVID-19. My doctor and I caught up with each other on the subject last week and he recommended that enough time had elapsed for me since I actually had COVID-19 back in February, and now, for me to give strong consideration to one of the available vaccines. His position was that the mRNA ones are most effective against the delta variant for someone who's never had COVID before, but that for me the Johnson & Johnson one would be fine. It would effectively be a booster for my existing natural antibodies. I got jabbed with a needle this afternoon. So far, no superpowers have manifested but I am hoping at least that the microchip the government surely implanted in me will allow for wireless charging. It burned like a mother when the nurse pushed the vaccine in, so I can only logically assume that means the 5G signals were flooding into my bloodstream. If I turn into a zombie, promise me you guys will aim for the head and not be cruel and shoot me in the .1 point

It is not in partnership with Nashville Armory. Originally it was intended to be but that deal fell apart or at least was altered significantly by the time it opened. Remember it was like 2 + years delayed. Operated completely by the Outpost staff/mgmnt side now. The reloading supplies took up a good deal of shelf real-estate with low margin slow moving inventory. Dozens of fixture hooks/locations with things like shell holders, decap rods, or other small bits of $5.00 hardware that you might sell a couple of a year. Plus the fairly large boxes for things like a press kit that you would be lucky to sell one a month of. It was a resource/time suck with little positive return. We tried to talk Mgmt into carrying the basics, especially the stuff that requires hazmat, like powder, primer, projectile, and maybe some common brass cases. That would be better than nothing and move much quicker than all the hardware and gear. Still working on them when I get the opportunity but I would not hold my breath.1 point

Meanwhile our glorious Government is handling this "great". That said with a lot of sarcasm. Open border with all types of China Virus coming in but, apparently that's not a concern. Falsey first said no mask required, then wear a mask, then wear 2 masks. How much are they paying that fool?1 point

Living here for the last 21 years and have learned a few things-like the word yawll-which I thought was a wood working tool. And I always thought when someone say's bless yer heart they meant it. And another strange saying that I still have not as of yet figured out-get on up out of here-or fixin to do anything but fix nothing? Oh well-I am getting old enough I really don't care to give any figgurin into it.1 point

Anyone besides me ever take their wheels off so they could clay-bar, polish, and wax the inside barrel? Here's the aforementioned 15 year old 200K+ miles Tribute. Not bad at all if I do say so myself.1 point

There are many people in this country that carry guns anywhere they want everyday and are not restricted at all by what the gun laws are. They probably number in the millions. They also commit armed robbery, murder, rape, sell drugs, rob banks, burglarize homes, jack cars and trucks, commit home invasions and such like. They will continue to carry guns anywhere they want everyday and will not be restricted at all by what the gun laws are. They probably number in the millions.1 point

After owning a few Fords and seeing lots of reliability issues of friends’ Jeeps and GMs, I just no longer get very interested unless it says Honda or Toyota. I’ve taken a lot of static about driving foreign cars, but what is a foreign car? A foreign company that lets Americans build them or an American company that lets foreigners build them? My 06 Tacoma was built in California, but Ford’s new Bronco Sport and Maverick are built in Mexico and Rams and F-150s have been foreign made off and on over the years. I decided years ago to forget if it’s American or Japanese and buy quality. Now I have a Tacoma and a 4Runner.1 point
