I've had a pinched nerve in my neck along my spine that has been causing me a lot of almost constant pain all the way down my left arm to my hand. It was so bad that, while it wasnt real debilitating, but the pain was significant and no medication seemed to help. i was referred to a neurosurgeon, Dr. Ernest Wright, and he performed a surgery Friday to remove 4 collapsed vertebrae in my neck and replace them with spacers. I was in Ascension St Thomas Hospital for Specialty Surgery over Friday night after surgery and discharged yesterday. For this surgery, they go in thru the front of the throat to the spine, so i have soreness and some pain in the front as well as more pain in the back, and it'll be hard to eat and drink (swallowing) for a few days, but I think the surgery is going to fix the issue. If anyone has to have this procedure done, I highly recommend Dr. Wright and St Thomas. The staff in ICU that took care of me before and after my surgery were very caring, comforting and professional. Never having had major surgery before, I was, quite frankly, very afraid, but the nurses went out of their way to be calming and reassuring to me.6 points

Well in my case a "trunk gun" is one that will basically live in the trunk of my car. A "truck gun" would be one that lives in someones truck.2 points

Well there is a global chip shortage, so they probably used whatever Bangladesh-made crap they could find. Hmmmmm maybe the chip shortage is due to all these shots…2 points

https://www.wsmv.com/news/metro-pd-gunman-dead-3-injured-in-shooting-at-antioch-smile-direct-club/article_c738e438-f44c-11eb-bd05-073414734d3a.html?block_id=994460 3 victims, one in critical. Gunman shot and killed by Metro PD officers responding. Motive not yet being reported. As usual....the corporate dimwits released a statement "The safety of our team members is a top priority for our Company and we maintain strict security protocols and a no weapons policy at all of our facilities. We are working with the local police as they investigate this matter." (emphasis mine) To paraphrase Chris Tucker: Do you understand the words that are coming out of your mouth? Of course the news reader (erm....anchor) Brittany Weiner said at the end of the story this morning something like "It's hard to believe something like this could happen in our community." Do you watch your own newscasts? Ya'll cover shootings EVERY DAY and it feels like Nashville has workplace/random stuff at least once a year.1 point

Yea Fords are real good, I go to church with a couple and last December I commented on "did you get a new car"? And they said no, and yes. They had a new Ford Edge and after multiple times in the shop in Cookeville, they gave them a new one same color. Because they couldn't fix it, I would have asked for a refund. Because next time if it is out of warranty who is going to fix it???1 point

ah yes, I remember it not so well. Being a smoker, my insurance paid for a bone growth simulator. I still have it if you and your surgeon would like you o have it.1 point

Maybe at some point our Governor will come to his senses and rewrite this law to include the correct Constitutional Carry law and make it much easier for people to understand. Until then all I can say is good luck if you carry and don't have an HCP....JMHO1 point

First thought...disgruntled customer. I'm told by a friend that these are painful. Secondly, the news people must make it sound like a once-in-a-lifetime event that just cannot be explained. Sadly it is not that. As monkeylizard says, shootings like this are getting to be all too frequent. No matter the reason for it, thugs, individuals, or even unhappy family members are resorting to violence these days. There seems to be no common sense in the actions of many today. There is no fear of penalty from the law it seems. Yes I know this individual paid heavily for his actions, but probably thought he'd get away with it.1 point

My guess is Memphis paid Time Magazine big bucks to run that story because people are moving out of Memphis about as fast as Chicago and so are the tax dollars and they need to convince folks that Memphis would be a great place to move to. I think everyone leaving Chicago should move to Memphis. They would fit right in down there.......JMHO1 point

I pray for your speedy recovery. Had his same procedure done a few years back. sill have some stiffness and pain but nothing like before. My voice changed some, of course I smoke so ha didn't help there. Did they send you home with one of the bone growth stimulating collars?1 point

Yes, that's what I mean. You may find a different situation wherever you move. I live half an hour from Crossville, and less than an hour from Knoxville, but have found that it's really difficult to find skilled or unskilled labor of any kind. There's a retirement / resort community nearby, and it seems that most of the trades people get enough work there and really don't want to come the extra distance. Again, your mileage may vary.1 point

We've only got a couple bean plants, but they've been making beans like crazy. I think we've eaten them nearly every night for 2 weeks. Had I expected this much yield, I would've saved them for canning.1 point

Give it a few more hours. When I got mine it felt like I took a punch from Mike Tyson in my arm. And I wish I could blame brain fog on the vaccine.1 point

I hope everything goes well for you. Having had back surgeries on 3 occasions, albeit at the other end of the spine (lumbar), I can definitely sympathize. Don't scrimp on whatever they give you for rehab/post surgical stretching and strengthening, that goes a long way towards eventually alleviating pain and helping you avoid subsequent "dissection" events ...1 point

Status Update: Injection site in my shoulder was a little sore for most of the evening. Not a biggie. A little Ibuprofen and some self massaging ( giggity ) took care of that. I woke up this morning with a bit of a sore throat but no other problems. My energy level seems normal, no fever, and no aches that I don't normally have. I did notice that I forgot something rather simple while I was doing my normal morning routine, so I'll try to remember to pay attention to this and see if it's the same "brain fog" that I had with actual COVID earlier this year. I honestly wouldn't be a bit surprised to see some strange occurrences like that as my body's naturally-acquired immunity kicks in and punches the J&J payload in the balls. STILL no wireless charging capability. The government microchip I got might be a dud.1 point

Meanwhile our glorious Government is handling this "great". That said with a lot of sarcasm. Open border with all types of China Virus coming in but, apparently that's not a concern. Falsey first said no mask required, then wear a mask, then wear 2 masks. How much are they paying that fool?1 point

I am all for people doing whatever they feel ok with. I got vaccinated because I didn't really have strong opinion one way or the other. My buddy just texted me and a few buddies that he tested positive today. We all had dinner on Tuesday night, but he thinks he probably got it on a weekend trip to KY last weekend. He had the J&J. Basically said he just has a fever at this point. At the end of the day, if the vaccine keeps me from getting really, really sick, ok by me. I am 46, overweight, and have zero cares about the possible long term side affects. I am more likely to die from a heart attack than anything the vaccine can do to me. Everyone has to make their own choice. Don't want it, don't get it. I just don't want to hear the words 'it's a tragedy' when someone that isn't vaccinated dies from COVID. We all make choices and we all have to live with the consequences, but it won't be a tragedy.1 point

You are not the only one. It would appear there are two of us. You eat an elephant one bite at a time. I expect TFA sees this as a good way to raise funds as much as anything. I am, however, pleased with the TFA for getting this done. I would encourage any Tennessee gun enthusiast who isn’t a member to join.1 point

Living here for the last 21 years and have learned a few things-like the word yawll-which I thought was a wood working tool. And I always thought when someone say's bless yer heart they meant it. And another strange saying that I still have not as of yet figured out-get on up out of here-or fixin to do anything but fix nothing? Oh well-I am getting old enough I really don't care to give any figgurin into it.1 point

We all make our own bed, I know I've made mine, and no amount of fear mongering will convince me to take this vaccine. There is just too much bogus BS being shoved down our throats to make me believe they have our good interest in mind. With what this country has gone through, in the last couple of years nothing, absolutely nothing, will convince me that our current administration is on the up and up on this, and many other things.1 point

Is it better than requiring a permit for carry at all, yes. It’s still needlessly vague, confusing and will quite likely result in someone getting hung up because they didn’t understand what it does and doesn’t do. I too am hopeful that it can be cleaned up and true constitutional carry enacted.1 point

Oh boy. Yeah, that's been exercised within the past 15 years as an attention stunt and attempt to joust with the legal system for personal gain. I genuinely hope that sad schmuck's life has improved to the point that he no longer sees a "wrongful death by cop" lawsuit as a way to provide for his family. What a complete and utter cancer to the Second Amendment in Tennessee.1 point

Anyone besides me ever take their wheels off so they could clay-bar, polish, and wax the inside barrel? Here's the aforementioned 15 year old 200K+ miles Tribute. Not bad at all if I do say so myself.1 point

Especially since there is an average of 75+ people moving to Nashville area every day, mostly from New Jersey and other northern states. Hopefully they are escaping the tyranny and not part of the "turn red states blue" movement.1 point
