  1. The version I heard from another morning news channel alluded to them knowing each other which could change the look of the situation .

  2. This is definitely a case of “not enough information.”

  5. It could be that the victim was found outside the home. If that is the case, then it might be harder to justify the shooting. Maybe witnesses indicated that the homeowner escalated the situation. The report did not give enough info.

  7. EKMO is an external machine that exchanges oxygen and CO2 in your blood. Most often used during transplant surgeries or in cases of significant lung damage(this case) or heart weakness. it means his lungs are experience severe disease or damage that are not allowing them to effectively exchange Oxygen and CO2. He can develop hypercapnia which is basically CO2 poising and becomes fatal.

  9. Planning to take a road trip at the end of August to check out East TN and the eastern half of Middle TN. Coming from Florida looking to get started with the Erwin area in Unicoi County. Head up to touristy Cade's Cove. Perhaps drive to Mountain City area and then to the Tri-Cities area with a focus on Johnson City area. From there check out Sweetwater on the way to Crossville, Spencer, Sparta and on to Cookeville, I have thought about making a drive through the Deer Lodge area or even all the way up to Oneida, but haven't factored those into the tentative itinerary. I'm not even sure if I have laid out the proper route given the places I have listed . Hoping to work in excursions to Cumberland Caverns, Muddy Pond, some waterfalls and caves. I purposely have not made lodging reservations so as to have flexibility on this trip; get up in the morning and decide where to go for that day. I want this to be a fact finding mission with a view to relocation while also including some fun during the trip. A little background: About 5 years ago I decided that I want to retire to Tennessee when I finish my career in Florida. It was around that time I joined this forum to start learning about the gun laws and 2A atmosphere in TN. Having made a half dozen or so week long trips over the past few years to various areas of Tennessee, I gravitated to the Cumberland Plateau area preferring Spencer, Sparta, and Cookeville to what I saw in the Tri-Cities area. I have not been back to Tennessee since December 2019. I know so much has changed up there since then. The great migration of people fleeing high taxed liberal states in favor of TN and the meteoric rise in real estate prices has certainly changed the landscape, figuratively and literally. Perhaps those changes will cause me to reconsider an area I have previously ruled out. Employment will not be a concern. Schools nor opportunities for children also will not be a concern. With great health at the moment, proximity to medical facilities also is not a driving factor. Likewise, proximity to an airport is not a large concern. Rather I am looking for convenient seclusion. By that I mean having plenty of elbow room without being able to wave to the neighbors from my back door or driveway. I want the convenience though of paved roads (pretty much rules out places like Wilder,) decent internet, a Dollar Store within 15 minutes for milk and a Walmart Super Center or similar within an hour. With that in mind I welcome suggestions regarding other places I should check out as well as the route I take. A big "THANK YOU" to peejman, jfluckey, OLDNEWBIE, Dirtshooter and others who have communicated directly and have made informative posts that have given me great direction. This is a great forum. I hope to continue to learn from the member posts and to make contributions.

  12. Not getting into the good or bad of this as flawed as it is but... Wish there was a simple chart or something that would give more people the confidence to carry without fear of being arrested. We can assume: City, State, Fed Govt. Property you get max. punishment if caught. But. Private businesses with no guns signs posted = ?? What punishments expected. City limits, sidewalks, streets, public transport??? It's just too chancy for law abiding with assets to lose if busted. It's even wrong to lock weapon in your auto while in a State park or School zone it seems. The law makes for more awkward sightings and reports of exposed guns from people seeing carriers trying to obey the asinine law. Unholstering and securing in weird locations. Yes it's a huge step in the right direction but it needs fixing. First fix in my opinion. At a minimum personal cars should always be permitted anywhere, to make it easy to park in a prohibited place and secure the gun before entering.

  14. Short answer No, in the 90's a Nashville Gun manufacturing shop got a contract for the from the Federal Prison System to make a special 870 for them (Scattergun Technology) Remington shipped them 870 Magnum and Police Magnums. They would then refinish the gun put on slug sights and anything else requested. Ten or so years later Remington figured we can do the same thing here and cut out middleman and in meantime S T sold out to Wilson, Wilson went on to sue S T because they fudged how many orders they had at time of sale. Wilson went after the civi market with it. I have had both and would take the Remington Factory over Wilson. Fist you get the original finish not the Wilson aftermarket finish. Couple options Buy a Police 870 off GT in Chattannoga or Gunbroker or get a well used 870 and send it to Wilson -see Wilson Steal on their website and for $200-300 returned you have a Wilson. Older Police 870's were marked Magnum then Police Magnum and now Police. They sell only to Police Distributors but you can find new or used ones on the market.

  17. For me, the trick to get the dot to present reliably is to squeeze with the pinky a small amount. This forces the middle and ring finger to tighten up the grip a bit and point correctly. If I'm going to be off, it's invariably the barrel is high. So the pinky trick pulls the barrel downward. At short ranges, I don't even look for the dot and just point shoot instead. Middle ranges I use the 32 MOA circle on the Holosun and save the 2 MOA dot for long range/precision shots.

  19. 45guy, 25 an hour is a bargain. Last time I checked, years ago, around Mid TN it is flat rate 100.00 per hr and lots of bond and liability ins must be provided. Plus must use off duty officers. That was several years ago. For our church just labor cost for 3 hrs on Sunday was 300.00 and bond and insurance was very expensive. We were a church of 220 nd we simply could not afford armed security at our congregation.

  20. Lucky with 13 wives, I think not. It has been proven that when women gather in a group for extended times, ie. office, home or other places, their time of month will begin to happen at the same time after a year or so. This man is a DUMB ASS!!!
