I'm don't subscribe to a deity, but I did spend some time in a church as a kid without it catching on fire, so I learned a little. I can't help but compare people in dire straits who haven't gotten the vaccine to that story of a man on a rooftop during a flood who had a weather report, a rowboat, and a helicopter that could have given him safety at different times, but he sent them all away because he felt God would protect him. Then after he died in the flood, he asked God what happened, only to learn God had sent the report, the rowboat, and the helicopter. I hope all of them come out okay, and I hope anyone still hesitant considers what we're seeing.2 points

Greg those are the "fun" times of driving cars and trucks that don't have a monthly payment on them. I would rather put a few hundred dollars into some repairs every now and then than pay $750 up for a monthly note. I own debt free 4 vehicles that cost me total $7,500. Now I have spent $9,000 or so in repairs over the course of 8 years,so that figures purchase price plus repairs to a little over $500 per year per vehicle. I am on the lookout for a pre computer truck or car, I know how to file points!!!2 points

He may need a drool cup but rest assured he knows the agenda. Bottom line, they want our guns gone & dispose of the 2nd Amendment.2 points

I hope everyone here realizes that you know enough to see how little politicians understand firearms. I further hope you realize they have the same amount of knowledge or economics, healthcare, safety, environment, foreign policy, etc. It's really scary when you stop and think about it.2 points

7/23/21 had a few Lbs of various Hodgson and Ramshot rifle powders, 5 boxes Rifle primers and a supply of some ammo, various calibers. Paid 2 bucks each for HP .357 factory rounds... but at least they had some!1 point

Yes indeed. SO true. If we could just elect a POTUS that wasn’t a DC bought and paid for politician that just wanted to make America great again…….<sigh> Hey…that’s an IDEA..!!!!1 point

My remark further up was to figure out how to bring back the HST avatar. If memory serves me it disappeared after an update and hasn't returned. Just an R in its place lol.1 point

IIRC the last Lebanon show report on here was a good one. I was tempted to attend the next show myself .1 point

Welp, my trip out of town got cancelled. Why? Their car broke down and they're busy trying to get it fixed. At least I got mine fixed today. Looks like trouble comes in bunches.1 point

Went to Crossroad Firearms in Fountain City, this afternoon to get a shotgun out of lay-a-away. They have plenty of 115gr and 124gr FMJ, in 50 rd boxes, going for $19.99 a box.1 point
-
They have them stockpiled waiting for chips. Keep your powder dry, I see a huge new car buying opportunity before long. I'm sort of needing one as well, but plan to wait a while.1 point

Or as close as we may be allowed to get. If you've seen my old thread "Well I did something today I said I wouldn't" or something like that, you'll know I was, have been, and still am...a person who contends this is all a ploy by our Overlords. Yes, I know there is a virus. One would have to be a fool to contend otherwise. Is it the End...as some are touting? Or just a tool that was let out to start the NWO? Can't say definitively, but I think my position is as good as most on it. I have now joined the growing list of those who have lost family and friends from this. Far too many over the last 3 months to not affect my past perspective and future commentary. Reaction to the Covid-19 from my family, friends, ex coworkers and even those of us here...has been varied, to say the least. From acceptance to hysteria and to total denial. I've been the black sheep/total waste/whack-job of my family all my life, and generally regarded as a lost cause. So if I give you pause to think with some of my wild-assed opinions and comments, I've done my part to open a few eyes I hope. Now a little less morbid comment. We seem to have reached a middle ground now. Most agree that it is real, no matter its source and origin or purpose. But we are searching deeper into its birth. That may yield a few surprises yet. People have died from it. Fact. Politicians, World Leaders, The CDC, and the UN have made use of this pandemic to further a mad power grab. So far it seems to be working quite well for them all. Whether we as individuals, as a nation, or as a world...will survive and return to "normal" is still to be seen. Removal of the current leadership is a must to achieve it. For my money, it's a poor chance in front of us. Yes, I am a borderline pessimist. And getting worse by the day. But I believe everything I have written here. Whether you agree with a little, a lot, or just think I'm a fat old fool. It's your choice. Just like the vaccinations...it's all up to you. Now as to "Uncle Phil" Valentine, for many and varied reasons; I hope and pray he recovers from this. Because I like him, and will be looking forward to hearing his observations and opinions now. Ok...done. Yeah, I'm a long-winded sort. Even when typing. If you read all this, I thank you. Agree or not. Just my own opinions.1 point

Phil has claimed that he is in good shape for his age and not at risk. He's run a risk analysis based on the information available and felt he wasn't at risk of death. People can be wrong, or sometimes the odds just bite you in the ass.1 point

I just got an email from Academy advertising Blazer aluminum for $14.99/box online and in store. Get it before Biden does, lol.1 point

We all make our own bed, I know I've made mine, and no amount of fear mongering will convince me to take this vaccine. There is just too much bogus BS being shoved down our throats to make me believe they have our good interest in mind. With what this country has gone through, in the last couple of years nothing, absolutely nothing, will convince me that our current administration is on the up and up on this, and many other things.1 point

The writing off of student loans erks me something fierce. It's a loan, the last time I borrowed money I had to pay it back with interest. Printing more and more money is a special kind of stupid too.1 point

I know it's a hard pill for folks to swallow, but there's not a single one of us who is going to make it out of here alive. We've all got a date with the Grim Reaper. It sucks that for some folks he comes as a virus, but there are a million other ways people die every day too and a lot of them have better forms of prevention than what we have for COVID-19. A person should seriously just listen to their doctor, analyze the risks, factor in their own risk profile, and make their own decision. I really hope the bleeding hearts don't hassle me the next time I have a cheeseburger or a glass of bourbon, or inhale some gun smoke. None of those things are good for you either, but I'm taking my chances. "Every man dies, but not every man really lives."1 point

During my foray into aircraft maintenance, i learned quickly that whatever the problem, determine the most expensive part, especially if it's also the hardest to get to, and replace that first. Works every time ...1 point

I remember this day, Apr.25, 1967, as if it was yesterday. We were on a search & destroy mission in "Nam, walked into an ambush. I was hit twice with auto weapons fire in the R. leg, several times with the old Chicom "tater" masher grenades. Some of the fragments are still in there. Spent 16 mos. in an Army hospital, almost lost the R. leg, still got it tho., even if it is a bit shorter that the left. A couple of others were hit the same time I was. Another guy was killed later. We were almost overrun, but managed to fight our way out of it, wiped them out. Not one of my better days.1 point

About 12 yo would take . 22 on bikes and ride 5 mi in country to a private dump owned by large factory. It had cool stuff to shoot dumped daily including a pile of garbage from lunchroom and fast as lightning rats. one day we found part of a guard shack dumped with paddlelock still in place. My buddy see too many cowboy movies tried to shoot the lock off and I feel a hammer to chest from the ricochet and was in a daze for a couple minutes from lowley.22 then looked down at my chest in a white T and small spot of blood getting bigger and bigger. Miles from a phone or hospital made my way home and lived, guess it stuck in breast bone and being I did not die I snuck in changed shirt and tossed old one. Never mentioned it as it would have been end of taking gun out.1 point

Those of us that have more primers than they will ever need to loosen up. Heck, I was selling to Tennessee guys primers last winter for $40.00 a brick, any favor. Just donated a brick of 209 shot shells primers to a collage student trying for the Nationals. Come on guys, this is the Volunteer State. The more of us that have ammo, the lesser chance of someone ( foreign or domestic) taken away our gun rights.1 point

From what I read you have the 1911 and could trade for the SA .357? Keep the 1911, feed it heavy loads and go. SA revolvers are great for hunting and very fine handguns. I would not choose an SA revolver for defensive use. The .45 is all you need for small black bears. use solid bullets not hollow points, save the HPs for two legged predators. If it were a DA .357 then it would be whichever you prefer.1 point
-
I’d say the 1911 would be the logical choice over a SA revolver for defense. Higher capacity, ballistically more than sufficient for the task, faster into action, and easier to use with a single hand. Just my opinion though.1 point
-
I would go with the GI 1911. More rounds and a heck of a lot easier to reload if you have to.1 point
