  1. Good morning everyone. Let us never forget this day or let our country forget it. I am privileged to attend church with a WWII vet as well as 2 Korean vets. The WWII vet had surgery a few weeks back but he is tough as nails. I knew a man that was a tank driver that went in on Omaha beach on June 7th and he was just a teenager and never could forget driving over the bodies as they didn't have the time to move all of them. Another friends dad was in the 82nd Airborne and parachuted into France. I met a 100 year old WWII vet about 5 years ago and he was in great shape. Thanks to all the vets for your service!!

  4. I don't pay extra for 'all matching' parts on US military guns. I know how the military operates and 'all matching' means that someone swapped parts to make it that way 99.95% of the time. Most of the carbines I see with Type 1 sights look like they had a Type 2 or 3 sight removed and a Type 1 staked in. During WW2 the Military did not care about having one manufacturer making all the parts. Parts from different makers were shipped wherever they were needed at that time. And after the war, everything was re-arsenalled. Again, nobody cared who made what part. They put them back together using whatever in-spec part was next in the bin. If you want the 'authentic' WW2 look, buy whatever carbine you want and change parts to match what you want. I see repro flip sights for $40 and originals start at $80 on eBxx.

  5. They could at least include one brand new Korean KCI mag. They’re $12 retail and I haven’t heard a bad thing about them.

  6. Starting on July 1 at midnight through 11:59 p.m. on June 30, 2022, you won't have to pay sales tax in Tennessee on gun safes or other safety equipment. Gun safes are defined as "a locking container or other enclosure equipped with a padlock, key lock, combination lock, or other locking device that is designed and intended for the secure storage of one or more firearms." A gun safety device can be any device that can be added to a gun that permits the user to program the firearm to operate only for specified persons designated by the user "through computerized locking devices or other means integral to and permanently part of the firearm." https://www.wbir.com/article/money/tennessee-tax-free-guns-food-back-to-school/51-12db1fd9-2680-44a4-9903-26115845186f

  7. Fair warning, the market prices for milsurps has only gone upwards in the last decade or so. Unless you get one handed down to you or manage to score one of those deals that folks talk about for years, these prices are likely as cheap as you’re going to see them. They’ll only go up from here. Sadly, 5 -10 years from now we will look back on these as being affordable.

  8. I was curious about selling these rifles without magazines. So I asked Midway. Here's their response: "Thank you for your email. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Unfortunately due to the M1 carbines not arriving to us with magazines in them, we will not be selling them with magazines. We will however offer several aftermarket magazines on our website that should be compatible." So it has nothing to do with restrictive states or just screwing the customers. Midway just don't have the mags. That's gonna make things very interesting.

  9. That sounds about right. The Planned demic, has completely cured the Flu. All strains, nobody gets it anymore. And for a long time anybody that died, died from China Virus. Chinese people are still probably saying, "we cure flu, and nobody thank us".

  10. Don't cerakote the buffer tube. Cerakote isn't thick and holds up well, but but it will eventually develop wear marks.

  11. Well..........isn't this a surprise A California county cut its COVID-19 death toll by around 25% after determining that some deaths were not a "direct result" of the virus. Alameda County revised the total number of deaths caused by the coronavirus to 1,223, down from 1,634. County officials decided to revise the numbers to align with the California Department of Public Health's guidance on how to classify deaths. The county previously included deaths of anyone infected with the virus, regardless of whether COVID-19 was a direct or contributing cause of death. https://www.foxnews.com/health/california-county-cuts-covid-death-toll

  12. I hit Defeated Creek for an afternoon, then the next morning two weekends ago. BIG bluegill were spawning. Caught around 50 each day on my ultra light running 2lb line and a 1/64oz trout magnet. Fun stuff!

  14. I guess I'm now officially the neighborhood gun guy. I've never really flaunted my hobby. But I guess the neighbors have noticed when I load up and go to the range or occasionally go to the mailbox without covering my EDC. Yesterday one of my neighbors, an older lady around 70, knocked on my door. Seems that she had heard that I was good with guns and asked for my help. She recently bought a Sig P365. She had field striped it for cleaning but when she put it back together she couldn't get the take down lever to go back into proper position. I took a look. I know these are good guns and folks speak highly of them. However, I have no personal experience with them. Fortunately a few minutes on YouTube was all it took to discover the little trick of pushing up on the slide lock to seat it. I showed her how to do it and she caught right on. Today she came back. She had purchased four extra magazines. (smart lady) But for her model the floor plates needed to be changed out. The correct parts are included. Again to YouTube and I swapped out the floor plates in just a few minutes. She was very appreciative and thanked me over and over. I told her that helping is what neighbors are for. BTW: I asked her about ammo and she said she had gotten up at 4:30 am to be first in line at Academy. She has enough for her needs.

  15. My parent's gutters look like this... The gutter guy showed up with a roll of flat aluminum sheet and a die set that forms the gutters so you can get really long, one-piece, gutters. No seams to leak.

  20. I’ll be keeping up with this as I definitely need new gutters and guards of some type to keep out the catkins, helicopters, and leaves. Tired of climbing up on the roof twice a year. @Erik88, have you considered going to a gun show to see what they have to offer? There used to always be a couple of gutter guard peddlers there.
