Thanks for asking, FourtyFive! I'm doing pretty well It has taken a while for things to settle out but just this past week I was able to secure an apartment (something that has been hard to come by) and will be able to move in sometime in mid to late June...that means that I'll finally be able to move all my stuff out of storage! Bought a used vehicle to get around in and overall, life is returning to something more "normal". I seem to get a little better every week...every day. Just five or six weeks ago I could hardly get up from a standard height chair without help but no longer...still carry a cane with me but really just for those times when I'm walking on uneven ground. Of course, my chronic health issues aren't going away and every day is a gift; one that I'm very thankful for. Were it not for what happened I would never have left Tennessee and I will always miss it but it's good to be "home"...back to my roots. Oh and yes, I still have my G20 thanks to the incredible generosity of so many of you!6 points

Perfect for reloading. 8 5 grains of Unique and anybodies hard cast 240 grain lead SWC in 44 mag brass or 7.5 grains unique with the same bullet. About 900 fps. No settin yourself on fire or developing arthritic wrists. Trust me. HEHEHE.. PS. Ya can cut the load .5 grains on either case n use 231 if ya like. leroy.3 points

I've been using the Zilla Lizard bedding media (ground walnut) along with 4-6 used dryer sheets same @gregintenn and @DeepSouthsuggested for a couple of months now. I'm impressed. I toss out the old dryers sheets and add freshly used ones each run. I usually run about 400-500 pieces of brass per cycle ,so once every other week, Run time is generally 3-4 hours. The used dryer sheets keep the Lizard bedding much cleaner and the brass is downright clean, shiny, and much brighter than the products I previously used (Frankford Arsenal or RCBS walnut). There's also definitely less dust in my reloading area. Just wanted to say thanks!2 points

Thanks, I believe I got a good deal on it since I've been looking for a 3" Bbl. 29. Gonna order some different wood grips for it once I find a set that I like.1 point

Those Grips are classic compact grips from Eagle Grips, it also comes with the original Pachmayr Grips that it shipped with from the factory. He put the wood grips on to see if they would work. Does anyone know were I could find a set of Craig Spigel Grips for it. Thanks I'll post some more pics and info when it gets here, can't wait I've searched everywhere for one of these and every time I could find one it either sold or was out of my reach on price, but I got a good deal on it and I'm satisfied with what I gave for it.1 point

I use to push the button for a Sport Clay competition a coupe of times a year at my old club. There were several shooters that I enjoyed watching, 2 used .410. One was a woman and the other a teenager, both could hang with the best of the 12g shooters. They made it looks so easy.1 point

Friend at work headed to Hawaii yesterday. They had to jump through some hoops to find a test site that was approved both by Hawaii and the airline, get tested and get the results approved the day before they left. Definitely some stress there, I'm sure your situation was much worse. Glad you found a solution.1 point

RE: " The 410 "... Has always been a shotgun connoisseur's gun. Anybody that hunts with and regularly brings hone game with a 410 is braggin without sayin anything. There aint much margin of aimin error for 3/4 oz of shot. Us " lesser shotgun men need at least1 1/8 with a light field load twelve ga... SIGH... The second is the skeet thing... Another small fraternity. That said; my favorite 410 is the Mighty Mouse Winchester Model 42... Im an old nan, and never got to own one...SIGH... On a brighter note, i own a brother... The mighty mouse 28 gage. He is the same thing only in a prettier package. RE: " The Mighty 16 ga "... I like him alot, basically the same as the 12. When i wuz a boy 60 years ago, there were just as many 16 ga totin bird hunters as were the 12. My uncles wouldn't turn around for the difference between em in the great side by side bird huntin days. Ammo for the 16 wuz just as plentiful as for the 12. There were ( ..and still are.. ) lotsa great doubles, pumps, n semiautos from the great gun builders of old still floatin around. I'm thinkin manufacturing streamlinin, hunting downturn, and the skeet/trap thing finished the 16 ga off due to his exclusion in the shooting competition. SIGH... Thus endeth the shotgun musings from the crumudgeon corner... " Shotgun " leroy...1 point

It is a Type 44 carbine, a variation of the Type 38 rifle. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Type_44_carbine Looks like it is in excellent condition. If it hasn't been goobered with since it's liberation in the Pacific and is still in the original 6.5 x 50mm caliber, I'd try to find some ammo and shoot it. Arisakas are known as some of the strongest bolt-action military rifles ever used. Graf's has some ammo in stock now.....https://www.grafs.com/catalog/category/categoryId/164 Steinel is another source for this not easy to find caliber, but they are on backorder....https://www.steinelammo.com/product/6-5-x-50mm-sr-arisaka-140gr-sp/ As for care, just keep the steel oiled up and it should be fine for a long time to come.1 point

I use Nu Finish polish. I thought Brasso had ammonia in it that can cause your brass to crack?1 point

We were informed in n uncertain terms that CBD use did not guarantee a failed random drug test, but could do so, and f t did, we have no recurse. That’ll keep me away from it.1 point

My wife (and dog) use CBD products. I don’t. Even if I were so inclined, I can’t risk a failed DOT physical because somebody had a bad day in QC and THC ended up in a batch.1 point

No kidding. This was to die for. I had to stop myself from shooting a deer in the back yard yesterday just to put it on the smoker.0 points

Okay I will share my recipe, NOTE: use at your own risk. I shoot mine out of a Taurus 65, .357. This can be used in both .38 special and .357 revolvers. I use .357 brass and because there isn't a bullet protruding from end it will cycle in both. Take a dozen or more brass and remove the primers then open up the primer pocket flash hole to about twice as big. This will help prevent primer setback. I use 5.8 gr. Bullseye with 2 wads over powder, about 88 gr. of shot I use #8 because I didn't have #12, 1 wad over shot and either seal with hot glue gun or wax. I make my wads from thin cardboard like the type used in Federal primer packaging, I use my lubrisizer and make up a bunch. This is good for about 10 feet, but make up some and test them as YMMV. I also mark the bases of this brass to keep separate just for this application. You can use 3.5 gr. of Bullseye and substitute uncooked rice for the shot and make bee/hornet loads. They are a hoot!! Yes if there was a rednecks anonymous I would probably be at most meetings!! LOL0 points
