  1. The Peacekeeper was simply the Trooper Mark V with a flat black bead blasted finish. During the big Colt strike of the mid-1980's Colt didn't have enough experienced polishers to give the entire line the bright blue polished finish, so they offered a limited line of un-polished flat black finished revolvers. 6 inch barrel. Pachmayr rubber "Gripper" with Gold Colt medallions.

  2. Right now, the current crop is selling more guns than Barack ever hoped to sell. And if they do manage to pass anything national, there will be a rebellion of biblical proportions. And, another chunk of the population will have stupid revealed. Pretty hard to excel at stupid these days, given all the competition. But my money is on them for the win.

  5. So true, used to shoot USPSA matches and for the most part the LEO's that shot with us didn't last long. They don't like it when most everyone beats them at shooting. There are lots of very accurate shooters in the masses.

  6. Haven't seen one of these in a while but I believe that's a 6-inch barrel and not a 4. Cheers, Whisper

  7. Just thought I'd drop this here. My wife's and my daily carry guns. Mine is a Glock 19 MOS w/ an RMR on a C&H mount. Hers is a P365 with custom slide milling. The milling service was purchased through a GunBroker auction for $50 with the refinish. We both carry appendix and couldn't be happier with our setups; (I use a Sagax Lux 2 holster and she uses a Tulster Oath). We both have bad astigmatism -- the 507k is much crisper than the RMR. She tried the SwampFox first, while it had the best auto-brightness sensor I've come across, the dot looked like a Christmas tree to both of us. It was unusable. Anyone still on the fence about these things needs to jump off and get one. Just try a few out first to make sure they work with your vision. They are amazing additions to most any pistol.

  10. In case any of y’all have missed the brouhaha surrounding Rob Pincus this past week, he partnered with Dan Gross (former head of the Brady Campaign) and penned an op-ed in Ammoland News calling for expanded background checks and compromise with the anti-2A crowd. https://www.ammoland.com/2021/03/guns-in-america-ending-the-culture-war-starting-a-productive-conversation/ Here is a good rebuttal, also published by Ammoland. https://www.ammoland.com/2021/03/say-no-more-gun-owners-compromised-enough/ —————————- My personal thoughts. I’m not a fan of “cancel culture” but Rob Pincus is a large and well known name in the gun community. He has been vocal in some very important fights in the past, including the recent work to attempt to reform the NRA. He is also grossly in error here. He has a history that deserves the benefit of the doubt with regards to his thinking and motives. so if he were to step back, reflect, reverse course and apologize for this, he could and should be forgiven. I don’t think that is likely for one simple reason. Due to the language being used in the article being almost verbatim from Bloomberg talking points, I strongly suspect that he’s been co-opted and is on the payroll. I have no proof or evidence of that assertion, simply a gut feeling. Regardless, I must walk away and pay no heed to him and strongly be suspicious of those whom continue to work with him on a professional basis. Retracted due to better understanding of what Pincus was attempting to accomplish with this article.

  16. Make what you need, 2 rods, wooden dowels, put them on an angle, held close, touching at the top, and spread apart at the lower end. Roll the shot down the rods, as the opening gets bigger the smaller shot will drop first.

  20. Went Thursday morning. Was actually first one there, well at least at the door. Then Mr. Lenny himself appeared. Shook hands and talked for a few minutes. Then gone. lol! A busy man is he. Nice place, plenty of pistols and long guns on display. A little ammo. Toured part of the building and saw one of the training rooms. Very nice. I think I will sign up for a couple of sessions and see how terrible I actually am. Sadly for me, no range for individual shooting.

  24. If you can live with black, the absolute best value Weber is the SE-335. Here is a good site that reviews and explains why. https://www.bbqguys.com/weber-grills/genesis-ii-se-335-special-edition-propane-gas-grill-black-61016201-2019 I was going to get this but really didn’t want the side burner. I was also looking for all stainless originally. If this was made in a stainless top I probably still would have bought it. Any major retailer including Ace, etc can order it.

  25. TFW I told my Wife I was in the middle of the active shooter incident in South Nashville the other day and she asked me if I was the shooter. I love that woman. TFW told my boss what was going on and she asked me if I knew it wasn't bring your gun to work day. A coworkers car was totaled out about 8 months ago in a shoot out when 4 guys tried to car jack him and shot up his car. He returned fire, but was conservative with his rounds. He just didn't think it was that big of a deal. LOL

  27. After watching the live video from Instagram, and reading an article referenced which I will provide links for, I believe that I, and others read his intentions incorrectly. I can’t break it all down at this moment, I can’t break it all down at this moment, but I will post a little later where I got it wrong, and why I did so. https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/rob-pincus-answers-pointed-questions-about-his-support-for-expanded-background-checks/ if you have the hour to devote to it, I strongly recommend watching the discussion on Instagram that I linked before.

  32. He poo pooed my favorite carry pistol awhile back was put on my no fly list-he can go suck eggs-and I have felt like he was an idiot well before all this. Part of my problem dealing with or listening to anything these so called firearm and training experts is the fact that they all think they are steps better than you or I. I used to work at a range that also taught classes also-a few of the instructor's were pretty full of themselves-my way is the only way they think.

  33. Background checks are low hanging fruit. Nearly every single one of the mass shooters passed a background check. How do you keep these people from buying a gun if they don't have a criminal record that would prohibit them?

  34. Hear ya' all. Possibly the. current prices and availability are the future of the shooting hobby (for the very rich only) Who needs restrictive gun laws with prices like these? Am currently exhausting my reloading supplies and then will ration my remaining loads as if they have to last the rest of my life...possibly so?? The good news is that I am pretty old

  36. There is nothing wrong with a well. Pro's and Con's like most other items. Biggest things with a well that you need to know are its capacity meaning how many gallons per minute can it supply the pump and what is the condition of the water. Well water around here is typically going to be pretty hard due to the limestone. You may or may not have enough sulfur in it to require removal. If you do a well, I would plan not only for the cost of the well, but also the cost for a conditioning system. I have a Kinetico reverse osmosis system to take the little sulfur that I have out as well as to soften the water (salt). Depending how bad the sulfur is, it could go from needing nothing to a full on desulfurization setup. Kinetico is pretty well top of the line on water systems and mine ran about 6k with a high end drinking water (K5) option. If you had to get a true desulfurization setup, it could add another 4-5k from what I understand. I was able to get by with a charcoal based filter media for my use. Depending where your closest neighbor would be, it would probably be good to see if they have a well and their water quality. Kinetico will come do a test and tell you what you need, but you need to have the well in to do that. Lots of things can be in the water, so a test is really mandatory if you want to know what you really have. Here is a link to their site to give you an idea of their products. https://www.kinetico.com/
