  1. I just joined today, if I saw a good deal I’d make an offer to buy. If it’s a FTF transaction I’m not sure why anyone would be scared. It’s not like it’s gunbroker where you mail in a money order. Hello all by the way!

  2. I don't see an issue. A lot of people join for the Buy/Sell section. With anything just be careful and back out of a deal if there are any red flags.

  3. If you do, please use the messaging system provided to communicate with the seller and not throw out random offers in a for sale posting.

  4. It’s not uncommon for folks to join specifically for the purpose of buying or selling an item. Sometimes they even stick around and become valued member of the community.

  5. I don't buy or sell with anyone who has no reputation points, and I'm confident others here take the same precaution. I think it's fine for new folks to get involved in the classifieds if they pay to become benefactors, but I just feel better dealing with someone who's been around a little while. Cheers, Whisper

  7. Sorry AuEagle, I tried watching but, couldn't I got about 5 seconds into it, and couldn't stand looking at him or hearing him. I know pretty much what he was gonna say though. I looked for a puking emoji but, couldn't find one.

  8. I just moved to Tennessee from Colorado and have some extra pistols that I'd like to get rid of. Now that I'm no longer locked in an apartment there are things that I'd like to purchase. I told the guy that offered it was his, pending no felonies and no DV's. Same with the guy that posted the riding mower. I don't have thousands of extra dollars lying around after moving and buying a brand new house to spend on the new items I need for the house, so I'm trying to finance them by selling or trading things that I don't use often. Retire Army, if you have any other questions about my intentions please feel free to send me a PM and I'll give you my number do we can discuss them.

  9. I wear aids, but probably the same as yours. My loss is severe-enough that I need the behind-the-ear style. But they make a world of difference in carrying on a conversation. Like you, Randall, I can't converse except one-on-one, even with the aids in. On top of that, my audiologist tells me that while my hearing is not getting worse, my ability to understand is. There are times when I have to ask someone to repeat two or three times, which can be frustrating for the speaker. The best thing about mine is that there's a blue-tooth interface that connects my aids directly to my phone. With that connection I can talk on the phone almost in a normal manner. Without it, it's a real struggle. But having said that, I prefer life without the hearing aids. There's just so much noise to put up with all the time! It's a relief when I can take them out and stretch out with a book and read in silence. If I weren't married, I'd probably do without them all the time.

  10. I somehow found a gun for sale/trade on Google way back around 2011 or so and it linked me to TGO. I guess you could say I stuck around. Should someone be cautious? Of course, but it doesn't seem like something we should prevent.

  11. I was a new guy once. So were you. I recently had a new member come to my home and purchase a firearm. He was a very nice fellow, and now he has positive feedback. Everybody has to start somewhere.

  12. On other forums new members must have a minimum # of posts to sell items. As TGO charges the Benefactor Fee, new people can sell right away. (Correct me if I'm wrong) Everyone has to start somewhere. DYODD.

  13. Incorrect. This doesn't impact RTC laws in those states. The ruling validates Hawaii's law, under the premise that the state has the prerogative to restrict carry. This won't automatically put the law upheld in Hawaii into effect across the 9th Circuit. It would allow those states to do so, but it's not a court dictated adoption across their jurisdiction as your post would indicate.

  15. The Colorado suspect allegedly used an AR-15-style pistol. Here's how it differs from an AR-15-style rifle https://www.cnn.com/2021/03/24/us/boulder-colorado-weapon-ruger-ar-556/index.html With a brace. I wonder what one of Bidens's possible EO's will be?

  16. "you can lead a horse to water..." the question isn't what one SHOULD do. it is what the government is allowed to REQUIRE us to do. everyone SHOULD be required to take a comprehensive driver's training course. the government COULD legally require and enforce this but they do not. no one's "right" to drive is guaranteed. everyone US citizen's right to keep and bear arms IS guaranteed without restriction/

  17. Two questions come to mind. 1. So why are you hiding the gun? 2.And what are you doing with it when you retrieve it at a later date? How about encase it in concrete for your new grill foundation, then jackhammer it out when you one day need it. You'd probably have less damage than sending it to the bottom of the sea.

  18. I’m 68 years old and worked in loud environments my entire adult life. I have severe hearing loss and without hearing aids I can’t carry on a conversation at all, even in a quiet setting. I have a set now that are 3 years old with a cost of $4000, but I’ve never really been satisfied with them and they seem to get worse at time goes by. SO....I’m asking for input from anyone that uses the new lower cost HA’s with “new technology” what they think of them. I know they all are offering 30+ days returns etc.....but I’d really rather get input from real users that I trust here on TGO and not “paid actors” (yes, they really have that disclaimer) that rattle on during commercials on TV. I appreciate any input anyone has. SORRY FOR THE DOUBLE POST!!

  20. I know a park I can point you to, but the city might take offense. I would be glad for the reduction of duck crap on the walking trail. lol I have been hit wanting to buy stuff several times by members that joined minutes ago. Many barely post a full sentence and never come back. If they can't bother to come back and respond tp a PM I am not sure why they bother joining. I did have a guy a couple years ago join, buy a mag off me, and never came back. Transaction was smooth, but he was in AZ if I remember. Part of what makes sites like this good though is that you have somewhat of a gauge of existing members. New members just have to put a bit of effort in to get involved. I was the new guy not that long ago too, but I feel it was totally worth investing some time to post and build up some reputation here. Much better dealings here than Armslist for sure.

  21. I have 2 hearing aids, furnished by the VA, so no cost, thankfully. The first ones I had were the little in the canal type. A royal pain in the ass to use. Hard to get in & out, volume control almost unusable. Finally quit using them. Years later, I got the newer version ( behind the ear & little cone inside the ear. these worked really well. I have a newer version of that now. The ones you se on TV, I believe, just basically amplify, with out all the extra bells & whistles. Noise reduction, directional hearing, etc. You kinda get what you pay for. The good ones run several thousand $$$$. Bottom of the list is $29 at Walmart. They do work, up to a point. I used on temp. when one of mine quit. This may not have the answer you were looking for completely, but hopefully it will help some. Good luck, Larry

  32. OF COURSE, ends with people interference. Wild boar are an exotic, environmentally damaging creature that the Park Service tries to control and eliminate. Smoky is simply combining his fire fighting job with pig elimination.

  35. Damn, I used to hate that stuff. Back in the day, I was an armorer in the military and we would get new weapons in sometimes literally buried in cosmoline. We had to strip all that gunk out before putting the weapons into service. Was a bear to clean.
