The bill has passed in the Senate, but the House still has not voted. From what I have read from TFA, this bill is an improvement on the current situation, but it could be so much better. If we have so many “pro-gun Republicans” in the general assembly, why are they so hesitant to pass a real constitutional carry bill? I have not yet reviewed the record, but apparently no amendments were allowed to the senate version of the bill. At this point, it would be helpful to call (rather than email) our state representatives to pressure them to make amendments to improve the bill. Once this bill passes, in whatever final form it may be, the Governor will congratulate himself for getting “constitutional carry” passed, and that will be the end of his efforts on this issue.2 points

You could crank out some sausage on that one. Nice find, it's funny how many different things were made by some of the old gun manufacturers.2 points

I'm still waiting on the full-size variant of these to come available in another week, but I wanted to pick up one of these too since it seems like a more "carry friendly" EDC sort of knife. There are a few steels that I am a big fan of and CruWear is one of them. It's a bit more difficult to sharpen than CPM S30V, for example, or the D2 that the previous Adamas was produced in... but you can't beat it for retaining an edge with use. When I saw that the new Adamas and MINI Adamas were going to be released in CruWear, I knew my wallet was going to get a bit lighter. The smooth G10 scales are perfect for pocket carry, the Axis lock is one of the strongest ambidextrous lock types out there, and the pivot runs on legit brass washers. Brass washers are my favorite for a knife that might get dusty or dirty (you know... USED like a knife) since they tend to keep grit and grime out of the pivot better than the other alternatives. I am very pleased with this one. If you get a chance, pick one up for yourself.1 point

My likelihood of treating a gunshot wound as a result of a training accident or gun fight is pretty low. The worst thing that could happen would be traveling down Chapman Highway, heading home from a special dinner with my beloved wife. It was a wonderful dinner and conversation and we are looking forward to the rest of our evening, safe and secure in our home. Maybe you've been in a similar situation, maybe it's your plan for tonight. Then, some idiot drunk driver hits us head on. GREAT NEWS: seat belts and air bags work exactly as designed. HOWEVER: shards of flying glass and metal severely lacerate my wife's arms and torso and while waiting for First Responders, I watch her bleed out because: If you are in or witness a horrific car wreck, could you render aid? Have you ever taken or when was the last time you took a medical class? Do you know how to treat a gunshot wound in the event of a negligent discharge or violent encounter? Can you treat your extremities and that of others to prevent a friend, colleague or family member from bleeding out? What are the current protocols for CPR? Does your home, auto and/or individual first aid kit have appropriate content for typical traumatic injuries? If you would like to gain basic knowledge and skill to treat potentially life threatening injuries, this class is for you. If you have taken multiple pistol, carbine, rifle and shotgun classes, it might be time for a medical class or refresher to get current. TSA has always been a political organization. They could endorse or not endorse something and it doesn't really imply the actual deputies have that opinion. I'm all for it and everybody in my office is also. I just wish if you have a permit they gave you some benefit beside the reciprocity like no back ground check.1 point

I caught this single car crash on my dash cam today. This person was almost certainly on their phone and it nearly killed them. Does anyone know the purpose of those cable style guardrails they seem to be switching to? This sedan went right through it like it didn't exist. A note about the quality, the video quality was downgraded when I moved it to my phone. It's much better on my laptop.1 point

I took the class today with Randy and AJ and have to admit it was a very serious topic that terrified me. Randy and AJ did an amazing job introducing us to different trauma care techniques. I think our whole group really had a lot of fun learning. We started the morning learning about life threatening injuries and how to treat them. We reviewed different tourniquets and bandages and tested them out on each other. Then we went outside and put our training to use. Randy shot a perfectly good pork roast, but it was a brilliant way to demonstrate how deep a gunshot wound could go and how much gauze it takes to fill it. We did a little live fire (at targets not each other) to simulate a realistic scenario of having to treat ourselves in the field. Randy an d AJ were amazing instructors and we had a really awesome class. Looking forward to more classes at Windrock Shooting Range.1 point

I don't agree with "hate crime " bs, but people murder for all kinds of reasons. People murder their loved ones and believe they love them the whole time. Moms do the murder/suicide thing because they want to be with their children in the after life. Serial killers usually have a trigger that makes them want a victim. They don't necessarily hate them. At most they are indifferent to them, or believe they have a connection with the victim. Sometimes they just hate people. They are all varying degrees of crazy.1 point

I'll be the last to say that there isn't something worth checking out here, but there's also a lot of questions about how this is developing. Couple in that apparently they went to Watson for a settlement before going to court, and a lot is sketchy here. Mike Florio lays out a lot of good points about how the lawyer representing these women is making this about himself as much as anything.1 point

Armslist screwed themselves when they went to charging just to answer an ad. I can see a charge to sell, but to buy is ridiculous. The Memphis Armslist used to easily run 15-16 pages or more of guns for sale. Now its maybe half that and slowly shrinking. The only ones selling are the ads where the seller is smart enough to put a phone number in them. Its seems that ads without phone numbers just sit there for a very long time. I've seen several guns I was interested in, but not enough to pay a fee just to contact the seller.1 point

2 seats remain available Saturday We still have 9 for Sunday @Jamie Jackson donated some cool stuff for us to practice with and on, including a leg. For the live fire portion of class, you can opt to shoot once / 10 rounds. You may get an opportunity to expend up to 30 rounds depending upon range efficiency. Great facility for teaching, training and shooting, backed up with awesome owner and staff.1 point

TGO has unfortunately, from time to time, been visited by those who lack morals and ethics and would like to take advantage of the good graces and trusting nature of our fine members. This activity almost always seems to increase when social conditions are turbulent, especially if the turbulence is centered around the ability to find and buy guns or ammo. Lately we have had to boot a few people who were exhibiting suspicious behavior. We want you to be aware of this fact and to be sure to check a person's status on TGO before you commit to doing business with them as either the seller or the buyer. This is especially true if the other person encourages you to take communication with them "off the forum" and to email or some sort of instant messaging service. Before you buy or sell: Look to see whether they have have an active account or if they've been banned since you started talking to them. If you are going to meet to conduct business, do it during daylight hours and in a heavily trafficked, very public, neutral meeting place. Don't invite people to your home. Don't agree to meet people at theirs. MOST police and sheriff's stations have space at their parking lot where you can meet for selling and buying with strangers. Other good places are parking lots of busy business and in sight of their security cameras. Trust your gut instincts whether just when communicating online or meeting in person. If something feels "off" or "weird" - trust your gut. Feel free to involve me, @MacGyver, @Chucktshoes or one of the other moderators in a private conversation with the other party, or just contact us off to the side if you have concerns. Some of the suspicious activity that we've seen includes: People answering a Want To Buy ad claiming to have what you want, or that they know a friend or family member who does, and offering to broker an exchange between you and them. When it is fraudulent, this sort of thing often quickly becomes ridiculously complex and harder than it should be to do a simple transaction. Your warning senses should start tingling. We insist that people never list an item for sale for a friend on TGO for a reason. First Person is simpler, easier and often safer. People asking if you will ship a gun to them out of state or if you require proof of residency. Shipping a gun out of state always requires that you send it to an FFL in that state. An in-person buyer has to be a resident of your state. Again, heed your warning senses. People asking you to send money to them via PayPal "Friends and Family". Remember, first of all PayPal doesn't allow you to pay for guns and certain other things with their service. If you do and you get hosed on a deal, you may have no protection with PayPal. Second, sending money via Friends and Family saves the recipient a measly 3% charge but it also means you get zero protection via PayPal if the other person hoses you. Strangers insisting that they meet you after dark, or at a remote location, or at your house or theirs. This is a big NO. Don't do this. People asking if they can send a friend to pick up a gun from you instead of meeting you themselves. This is also a big NO. It can quickly become an illegal "straw purchase". Again, trust your gut instincts. You have them for a reason. It's safer to heed them and risk offending a person than it is to ignore them and end up the victim of a scam or worse. And always, always contact me, @MacGyver, @Chucktshoes or another moderator if you are concerned and just want a second opinion. We're glad to help. Stay safe out there!1 point

I would assume that they are speaking of SC card speeds. The higher speed the more they cost. I have been wanting to get a dash cam. So I am following this thread to learn as much as I can before I plop down the cash.1 point

Did a private class for a student this past Sunday and one of the diagnostic drills I use is Rastoff's Challenge. We have discussed it here before but the course of fire is 4 rounds at 3 yards 6 rounds at 5 yards 6 rounds at 7 yards 4 rounds at 10 yards All rounds must be in the X ring for a perfect score. I put up an extra target for me and shot it cold.......1 point

Thank you A.J and Randy! I would highly recommend this class to pretty much everybody! You don't need to be a "Gun Person" to benefit immensely from this training. The context A.J. presented is spot on. This is knowledge and these are skills that are needed and useful each and every day. I admit to bias, as I know Randy and A.J. and have trained with them several times. They are outstanding instructors...teachers if you will... and fine people to boot. Congrats and a Thank you for presenting this class.1 point
