I'm still waiting on the full-size variant of these to come available in another week, but I wanted to pick up one of these too since it seems like a more "carry friendly" EDC sort of knife. There are a few steels that I am a big fan of and CruWear is one of them. It's a bit more difficult to sharpen than CPM S30V, for example, or the D2 that the previous Adamas was produced in... but you can't beat it for retaining an edge with use. When I saw that the new Adamas and MINI Adamas were going to be released in CruWear, I knew my wallet was going to get a bit lighter. The smooth G10 scales are perfect for pocket carry, the Axis lock is one of the strongest ambidextrous lock types out there, and the pivot runs on legit brass washers. Brass washers are my favorite for a knife that might get dusty or dirty (you know... USED like a knife) since they tend to keep grit and grime out of the pivot better than the other alternatives. I am very pleased with this one. If you get a chance, pick one up for yourself.2 points

Well it's time to change the media in FL 2000 tumbler. Lord that stuff gets dirty... I've seen Lizard bedding ( Zilla crushed walnut) mentioned on several forums and iirc I've seen it mentioned here at TGO. The local Petco carries it at a much lower price than places like Midway . I know walnut doesn't polish as well as corncob media. I'm not looking for "pretty", just clean brass. Anyone have any first hand experience using this? TIA1 point

Just acquired a Springfield TRP Operator today. Been wanting a TRP for a long time. Still not sure about the rail and bull (ish) barrel with full length guide rod. Figured out real quick that I REALLY like the aggressive front strap checkering that I’ve heard folks complain about. Just wondering who’s had experience with these. Figured I’d try it a while and see if it’s right for me. This is a picture I found on the web. Can’t seem to get my actual picture to upload. Says it exceeds the limit.1 point

The Sheriff's Association is a 501 (c) 3 charity, (per its tax fillings, most recent 990s a(ttached) Section IV Question 4 is instructive, where they tell the IRS that they do not lobby. Their Mission Statement is: The purpose of the organization is to promote better and more effective law enforcement, maintain a high level of ethical conduct on the part of all Sheriffs and their deputies, provide a forum of constant exchange of knowledge and experience among all Sheriffs.” This is the factual listing by the Sheriff’s Association on their IRS forms and locked in. Nowhere does it list lobby the TN General Assembly in that filing. Yet, they file with the State of Tennessee, documents listing their paid lobbyist. (attached) Duties of the Sheriff per our TCA: 38-3-102. Duties of sheriff. (a) The sheriff is the principal conservator of the peace in the sheriff's county. It is the sheriff's duty to suppress all affrays, riots, routs, unlawful assemblies, insurrections, or other breaches of the peace, to do which the sheriff may summon to such sheriff's aid as many of the inhabitants of the county as such sheriff thinks proper. (b) It shall be the duty of the sheriffs, in their respective counties, by themselves or deputies, to patrol the roads of the county, to ferret out crimes, to secure evidence of crimes, and to apprehend and arrest criminals. I see nothing there that would indicate the legislature has given them power by law to make law, or to advocate under color of their official employment to deny any Constitutional Right, e.g. HB 0786 or HB 0018 which both deal with "Constitutional" or permitless carry by non criminal Tennessee Citizens before the General Assembly. Rather, I would assume that their letter (attached) to the House criminal justice sub-committee is exactly that (it has been offered on another thread, but i will include it here for reference as their attempt "under color of official employment" is just that by sending that letter and is pertinent to another TCA code: TCA 39-16-403. Official oppression. — (a) A public servant acting under color of office or employment commits an offense who: (1) Intentionally subjects another to mistreatment or to arrest, detention, stop, frisk, halt, search, seizure, dispossession, assessment or lien when the public servant knows the conduct is unlawful; or (2) Intentionally denies or impedes another in the exercise or enjoyment of any right, privilege, power or immunity, when the public servant knows the conduct is unlawful. (b) For purposes of this section, a public servant acts under color of office or employment if the public servant acts, or purports to act, in an official capacity or takes advantage of the actual or purported capacity. (c) An offense under this section is a Class E felony. (d) Charges for official oppression may be brought only by indictment, presentment or criminal information; provided, that nothing in this section shall deny a person from pursuing other criminal charges by affidavit of complaint. [Acts 1989, ch. 591, § 1; 1990, ch. 980, § 11.] The letter sent to the sub-committee is acting under color of official employment. In the light of an old Blue Grass song, "Muleskinner Blues" a line says, "if you don't like your job, set the water bucket down." If any Sheriff wants to do other than their job of upholding the law and instead wish to foster legislation, perhaps they should set the water bucket of Sheriff down and resign and run for the General Assembly, whose job IS to make law. Further, the testimony by the Association and the letter indicate that all 95 Sheriffs are in agreement with the ask for implied consent (Papers Please) which violates the Federal 4th Amendment and State 7th. I have personally spoken with 4 who were not polled, do not agree with the context of the letter and who support Constitutional Carry either open or concealed as well as of this writing 5 others who have sent notification via Citizens of their Counties that they were not consulted nor do they agree with the Association. The Sheriff's Oath: "I do solemnly swear that I will perform with fidelity the duties of the office to which I have been elected, and which I am about to assume. I do solemnly swear to support the constitutions of Tennessee and the United States and to faithfully perform the duties of the office of sheriff for County, Tennessee. I further swear that I have not promised or given, nor will I give any fee, gift, gratuity, or reward for this office or for aid in procuring this office; that I will not take any fee, gift, or bribe, or gratuity for returning any person as a juror or for making any false return of any process and that I will faithfully execute the office of sheriff to the best of my knowledge and ability, agreeably to law." indicates no duty to force their personal feelings or beliefs on the populace and simply charges them with supporting the Constitutions of the Union and State. Their charge by the legislature is simply stated in 38-3-102. Sheriff's Association Letter.pdf TN Sheriffs - lobbyists.pdf 2017 990.pdf1 point

Glad to hear of the quick turn around. I have several SA pistols and rifles and all have been excellent in reliability and accuracy. Their customer service was a factor in my repeated purchases from them, although I'd yet had a need to return anything to them.1 point

Just finished the Grip Module install on my 2020 Staccato P DPO. I went with EXTREME SHOOTERS Grip Module like I installed on my Staccato P 4.14 except I chose the British DPM color this time, I think it looks good. Here's some pics. Thanks for looking, tell me what you think good or bad.1 point

I am a cheap SOB, only issue is 7mm rem mag. The long case and narrow case mouth makes the pins hard to get out. As well as fill the case with pins and not clean very well. The vibrator and walnut hulls work great to clean the inside of cases. I am going the have to try the dryer sheet. Wife got mad I used the car polish, till she saw the effect.1 point

He actually said "Yesterday was a really bad day for him" instead of "he was having a bad day." A subtle difference, but the quote widely reported by MSM is inaccurate and can have a completely different meaning. But hey, when you need to stir up some viewers or advance an agenda, it's all good to paraphrase.1 point

Vortex Gen II 3x & 5x Spitfire HD prism scopes. I have several of their original scopes that I’m very fond of. They are great for shooters with astigmatism. My only gripe about these new scopes is that they now only have the red reticle, no green. The 5x has a removable plate for a red dot. I’ll be mounting a Holosun 507 green on it.1 point

The Zilla desert blend, and other lizard litter brands were very dusty in my experience. I switched to the HF walnut media above and am happier with it. And a 25# bag means it is going to last quite a while even with more frequent media swaps if it does break down and get dusty.1 point

Used it all the time before switching to wet tumbling and it worked great. I always deprimed before cleaning and unlike the regular media, it didn't clog the primer hole.1 point

Some takeaways as I saw this video a while back, but didn't want to be the one to post it here (thanks to @Omega for broaching the topic). 1) Very true that things go from zero to one hundred fast here. The officer had a good reaction time to escelation events as they happened. 1a) The officer needed that good reaction time because the situation had gotten out of hand as others have pointed out. We can debate his weight, but I wouldn't be surprised if she saw officer Tubby McCracker as soft and felt emboldened. 2) This woman doesn't seem a net benefit to society, and I don't for one second condone her shooting the officer, or even grabbing the weapon. Still in a better world, the weed being (presumably) was the reason the officer got to search her and put her into fight or flight mode is at best debatable insofar as should it be a crime or not. Our laws in at least some way contributed to this event's conclusion. Very similar questions. I'm sure the weed was the gate into it all, and that I do have some issues with, which leads me to... If this is a dime bag PC situation that lead to shootings...well, it'll be time for my refrain on how we need to just legalize weed because all the laws against it are doing is enabling government actions. Remove the laws about personal quantities of weed, and this situation is a lot different. Nobody dead or in the hospital most likely. One armchair question is what urgent need to act on the stop is there until backup arrives? Once the car is pulled over, I would think the officer could wait for another cruiser to show up and help with the encounter. Bit of tactical patience could have prevented a lot here, but I may be wrong in that. The questionable standards of BLM/Antifa aside, I like that police departments feel the need to justify their actions to the public, especially when it comes to the lethal use of force. I'm not unhappy that government agents have a bit of fear from the governed reminding them where their authority comes from in the first place. Again, this may not be a perfect example of the Jeffersonian process in action, but it's a good start.1 point

I completely agree. The guy is a totally bat poop crazy murderer. Deserves to die. But the point is that in his mind he was killing hookers, not asians. The MSM and political hacks keep wanting to change that. Let's face it. He's white, male, 21 years old, religious and he used a gun. He rings all the progressive left's hate bells. You better believe the liberals are gonna milk this for all they can get.1 point

I have a fund raising letter from the TSA laying on the table just waiting for me to send a check. Considering the fact I am a retired LEO I was planning on doing so. This just saved me some money. I will do something direct to benefit my locals. Through my career I found that the higher one is in the command chain of Law Enforcement, the more they tend to follow the direction of the political winds. I would venture to say that a large number, if not the majority, of the sheriffs do not personally support this position. Especially if they came up through the ranks. However, the those making money sitting in the offices of the TSA rubbing elbows with politicians tend to get dirty elbows.1 point

Ah! There's the rub. Associations don't necessarily speak the wishes of the rank and file. Most often policies are determined by a small handful of members who run said association. I'm sure there are many Sheriffs in this state that have no problem at all with Con Carry. But they won't speak out against their association because they may need something in the future. Gotta go along to get along. ya know.1 point
