Well. That title covers a lot of territory doesn't it? Had 2 scheduled checkups and blood draws today. My GP and my Oncologist. I talked with both about the Covid Vaccines and my feelings and health issues relating to whether or not to take it. Interesting conversations from both. Especially the gentleman who actually drew the blood. We covered about everything from the source, the intent, and the possible outcomes of this pandemic. Even got into some of the religion side...Revelation and Mark of the Beast territory. But the core of all this is that my Oncologist's comments were this..."Do it. Do it Now!" You are at major risk. Walking time bomb. Just waiting to be infected. Really said that. Well, it seemed that TnOncology was vaccinating all their patients. And since I was in one office, a call was made and I was quite literally immediately shoved out the door and sent to the one where there were some shots still available. So...in spite of my comments here previously; I received the 1st dose of the Moderna Vaccine today. I do feel rather much a hypocrite right now. But it's done. We shall see what happens.5 points

FWIW...a status update this morning. On the advice of my wife and my doc, I took my regular meds last night and 2 Tylenol just as I hit the bed. I slept like a baby. 7 uninterrupted hours! Unbelievable for me. I hardly every do that. If I do 4, I consider myself wonderfully blessed. Got up with a slight headache, but that's all. No pains, no aches, no fevers. Having my Cheerios and maybe a bagel. So now I'm prepared for our morning meet!4 points

A couple of months ago I sent my G48 slide off to be milled for a Holosun 507k and once I got it zeroed my groups were much better than with open sights. I was amazed at how much easier and faster it was for me to be able to get good hits with the dot. It's my EDC, although after about a day and a half of appendix carry I swapped the extended barrel out for the factory one3 points

Being open to changing one’s mind sure seems wiser than being stubborn even once you decide it is against your own best interest.3 points

Exactly this. Thanks for sharing your experience @hipower.There is nothing wrong with changing your mind.3 points

Agree that we do in fact live in "interesting times". Funny that this curse is attributed to the Chinese... I too plan reloading therapy for this afternoon. There's lonely brass and components calling to me as I type this.3 points

I’ll go ahead and be the jerk for saying it. The officer’s physical fitness was absolutely a contributing factor in him giving up the fight. I don’t mean that as a personal dig against the officer. I really do hope that he recovers quickly and without any lasting side effects. I don’t even have any criticisms of what led to the encounter. that said, it cannot be denied that his lack of physical conditioning is a clear contributing factor in how things played out. This is some thing that has been weighing on me greatly recently. If I am not physically capable of remaining in the fight due to poor conditioning and lack of stamina, it doesn’t matter how much Gucci gear I have. It doesn’t matter how much training I have. All I’m doing is providing somebody else with some great stuff to pick up off my corpse.2 points

The cop just took a round in the side. He was probably in pain, shock, and in the process of dying.2 points

No adapters needed. 507k is a direct fit according to the cats on the sig forum.2 points

Your doctor knows your situation and, frankly, the worst reactions seem to occur in healthy people with no co-morbidities. That said, if you or anyone else reading this start having severe symptoms in the first 48 hours after the shot, get to ER stat.2 points

Ok I’ll admit when I’m wrong, in that situation he was perfectly within the law to keep firing, I suspect that he couldn’t for some reason. It did sound from the narrative that the damage was already done and she died. the only thing he did wrong was not getting backup when she started squirrely2 points

True, honestly I didn’t watch the video. I’m just tired of everyone second guessing our cops without knowing what the law actually states.2 points

Was at a local gun shop picking up my Escort BTS 12 the other day and seen this little Steven's for $195 and couldn't pass it up. Been looking for a lighter Turkey gun for those long walks chasing these Mountain birds and that Stevens fit the bill. Got lucky on a bunch of Winchester Super X Turkey loads in 2 3/4 and 3in for $5 a box so that's what I used for sight in. Really wanted some longbeard xr's but can't find any nowhere. But anyway I tried the #4 and #5 shot in both the 2 3/4 and 3in. And with the factory X-Full choke it liked the 2 3/4 better over the 3in. Pattern shown is at 30 yards with the #5 shot in 2 3/4. Put 50 or so shots in the vitals. Wish I could've found a few different types of ammo to try but can't be picky nowadays. All in all I'm happy with that little Steven's, for the money it's hard to beat. Put a full or modified choke in and have a good squirrel gun also.1 point

Very cool! I was driving near my house the day before yesterday and a flock of hens flew overhead. It's amazing that such big-bodied critters can actually fly! They're impressive when going overhead.1 point

Yeah, but if you can't get on an airplane, go into such and such building, etc., it's about as effective as enforcement. I am old enough to call this bluff, but my wife is not quite understanding as I'd like.1 point

Mandate is one thing, policing it is quite another!! They will have to try and force people to comply and that is when the #### hits the fan. About like gun control, there are barely enough LEO to keep the thugs from not having a nationwide riot. So policing chinese flu immunizations is going to require a bunch more LEO on the payroll.1 point

You guys left before I got there!!! I missed you all by about 5 minutes according to BJB and Kharman...the 2 Bills as it were. lol Sorry for my tardiness, but I did get my Flag and it looks great!1 point

You said what I was thinking. He didn't have that fight to live mindset that you see in some of these videos. At this point, he was almost physically unable to sit up, and I don't think it was because he was shot. I've mentioned this once before too. Physical fitness matters.1 point

I have a Holosun 507k on my P365XL. I also ran have Shied SMSc that I had on it before the Holosun became available. I liked both sights. The Holosun has a dot and circle reticle option.1 point
-
I think using the Holosun 507K will require the P365's optics pocket to be modified slightly. The rear recoil lugs have to be removed and the front lugs have to be reduced in height slightly. That said, I'd still go with the 508K over the RMRcc if it were me.1 point

Agreed this should never have been politicized. Doing so gas destroyed confidence and divided us as a nation. Demanding and browbeating people into taking a vaccine is just so wrong. It is a personal decision to be considered with ones own doctor, or not. I no longer fly so that does not concern me but requiring proof of anything from U S Citizens to exercise freedom is unlawful and unethical. kind of like testing, fees and such to vote or own and carry firearms. Hope you do well with this vaccine and with your leukemia.1 point

I’m glad it’s there for those of you who want it. I only hope they don’t try and mandate it. That’s where my concern lies.1 point

I have had both shots of Moderna and my sweet wife had her second Thursday. Way to go. I am at high risk because of agent orange and have many risks. I had no ill effects and sweetie has had a little nausea yesterday, but can't say it was from the shot because she eat something she said was not really good, and that may be where her sick feeling came from," maybe". Other than that we have had no side effects. She is fine this morning. Praying for you and hope things go well for you. Listen to your doctors Hipower. They want the best for your health. You made a wise choice, IMO, for what it's worth.1 point

If nothing else, it illustrates what Red333 said above. Things can go sideways in New York minute! I imagine this video, or more likely the original unedited version of it will be become a training video at the police academy. Prayers for the officer..1 point

Good for you! I have an appt at the VA to get my second dose of moderna next week. I hear the Pfizer is the better one if anyone has the option.1 point

You did the smart thing. Feel good and proud about it. My wife, who goes to TNoncology in Chattanooga, has had her first Phiser shot along with myself. Celebrate, celebrate. And no side effects except for a little soreness in the arm.1 point

I would watch it. I actually think he would have no legal issues if he had continued firing. The threat wasn't over.1 point

I applaud you Larry! Good on you for listening to your physicians and that voice in your heart my friend. I had the Pfizer series Dec/Jan (Healthcare worker) and my bride of 33+ years gets her 1st Pfizer this morning. The missus has multiple health issues, so I am very happy she's scheduled. Our "daughter" had the Moderna series with no negative side effects. (Healthcare worker too).1 point

Will do. My wife has been to several parts of tennessee so I throw names at her and she yays or nays it for scoping out when we can realistically spend a week actively viewing properties. Kind of tricky in itself with all the coofid stuff, then the CAN/US relations not being the best. Just feels like something is just about to pop somewhere, Weird times.1 point
-
You make a good point, but I was concerned for a moment that she was attempting to run over the officer with her vehicle. I could easily see him discharging his service weapon again at that point. He was either in shock or simply couldn’t regain his balance to fire again.1 point

Welcome to TGO, at this time Tennessee is still red, may be purple and then blue. Depends on if people wise up or not. I came from Mississippi and have always loved Tennessee as a vacation destination. I don't like cities, I currently reside in the smallest populated county in Tennessee at about 5,079 people. I can't imagine living in a country like you described. A lot of Americans have the same viewpoint as the guys/gals on TGO. I won't speak for them, but I will say this. " I WILL NOT COMPLY", with any gun laws that are unconstitutional, they can take a hike. I hope you find a place that will meet your needs and you can find peace and quiet. Mac1 point
