  1. I don't consider myself a TGO prognosticator, but I believed that a Biden administration would put other things first--their obsession with destroying America's chances at energy self-reliance, reparations, LGBTQ, punish the police, woke agenda disguised as covid relief, etc. UNLESS a mass shooting occurs. The statement above calls on Congress to enact the usual common sense drivel, so hopefully it's just lip service to the gun grabber crowd.

  2. I recall being told by TGO prognosticators that we that believed he would immediately start pursuing gun control were in a bubble and he had more important matters, healer in chief, children back to school, whoop covids ass, and gun control issues wouldn't come until the mid terms. Sounds to me like he wants it NOW

  3. Source: https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2021/02/14/statement-by-the-president-three-years-after-the-parkland-shooting/ Statement by the President Three Years After the Parkland Shooting February 14, 2021 • Statements and Releases Three years ago today, a lone gunman took the lives of 14 students and three educators at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. In seconds, the lives of dozens of families, and the life of an American community, were changed forever. For three years now, the Parkland families have spent birthdays and holidays without their loved ones. They’ve missed out on the experience of sending their children off to college or seeing them on their first job after high school. Like far too many families, they’ve had to bury pieces of their soul deep within the Earth. Like far too many families — and, indeed, like our nation — they’ve been left to wonder whether things would ever be okay. These families are not alone. In big cities and small towns. In schools and shopping malls. In churches, mosques, synagogues, and temples. In movie theaters and concert halls. On city street corners that will never get a mention on the evening news. All across our nation, parents, spouses, children, siblings, and friends have known the pain of losing a loved one to gun violence. And in this season of so much loss, last year’s historic increase in homicides across America, including the gun violence disproportionately devastating Black and Brown individuals in our cities, has added to the number of empty seats at our kitchen tables. Today, as we mourn with the Parkland community, we mourn for all who have lost loved ones to gun violence. Over these three years, the Parkland families have taught all of us something profound. Time and again, they have showed us how we can turn our grief into purpose – to march, organize, and build a strong, inclusive, and durable movement for change. The Parkland students and so many other young people across the country who have experienced gun violence are carrying forward the history of the American journey. It is a history written by young people in each generation who challenged prevailing dogma to demand a simple truth: we can do better. And we will. This Administration will not wait for the next mass shooting to heed that call. We will take action to end our epidemic of gun violence and make our schools and communities safer. Today, I am calling on Congress to enact commonsense gun law reforms, including requiring background checks on all gun sales, banning assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, and eliminating immunity for gun manufacturers who knowingly put weapons of war on our streets. We owe it to all those we’ve lost and to all those left behind to grieve to make a change. The time to act is now. ###

  4. After about 20 hours of head scratching, welding, machining and alot of space drifting on just how this non conventional action functions, I finally got this in shooting condition. Its a GB "parts" gun i bought recently but some guy got my top dollar in the final tally of just over 3 bones. A bit much for a gun that was missing the ejector assembly and cylinder pin, cracked grips and with rough bore but it was one of those oldie challenges I'v never had in front of me before. The good part is the 38 Long Colt uses a 357 bullet and to my surprise, 38 spl brass chambered right up. So thats off to a good start. These guns are know as the Billy the Kid guns since he was killed with the 41 cal version of this frame as his own EDC. The DA action is a unique design but a some really bad design work is what gives these guns a bad rep in the reliability category. It all revolves around a cylinder lock up lug that engages the cylinders at the chambers face rather than the out side barrel of the cylinder. This rather stupid location puts the frame lock up lug side by side with the cylinder ratchet hand. And the hand is one of the weakest designs I'v ever seen, more akin to a early H&R DA...if that. The hand spring is a delicate little leaf along with the DA hammer link spring that rides sandwich style inside the trigger. Its no wonder a little ware and tear will take place sooner rather than latter with the internals so weakly sprung. In this particular case, the original springs were still in the gun except for the trigger rebound leaf. It was some ones creation that cracked after about 30 or so cyclings. I made up a new one and added a second spring wire into the frame to help out the cylinder lock up lug. The cylinder had about .010 too much end shake so I welded up the front spindle and recut it to fix that issue and made a new cylinder pin. The hand also needed a dot of weld to get the cylinder up in time. The bore looked pretty bad. So I did my ultimate clean up job by wrapping a bristle brush with course steel wool and scrubbed the hell out of it. That action actually put the lands back into view by scrapping the rust off their surface's. The grooves were still frosted dark but no serious pits. I figured I had a 50/50 of key holes out of this pipe. The CCI aluminum cased 158g LRN rounds I have needed to have about 1/8th" of lead ground off the tip so they would comfortably fit the chambers. The CCI rounds are a bit hot for this 1904 made gun, but with a little less lead, that helped it along. I was pleasantly surprised to print this 2" group off a rest at 12 yards! And the bore didn't have any visible lead captured! Getting this action to time on both single and double action movements was alot of fun since being a parts gun, they wern't even close. . A really good learn on these historic guns. The second shot is a size comparo with the big 44 and a Uberti Stallion. Oddly, the Stallion is a near perfect frame size replica of the Lightning.

  5. It's looking more like we woke up in Red China. Those sorry conservatives need to start attacking Biden like they did Trump. Day in and out. Who cares if its the truth or not. (They didn't) I lost a lot of respect for the office and our election process in this last go round and it's time they got some of their own medicine

  6. I am, indeed, a " prognostigator ", i freely admit it. Im also old enough to remember the Gun Control Act of 1968... I wuz 22 years old. The 1968 act was passed as the result of the shooting of the prez, an attorney general, and a beloved civil rights leader.. It wuz a " knee jerk " reaction. The congressional makeup wuz 2 to 1 democrat in both houses. That wuz then. Fast forward to today. There have been no " political assinations (.. Except Steve Scalece, and he is " The Enemy "..) ", and the congress is deadlocked 50/ 50. More than that, there are 200 million gun owners, and all of em aint republican. Folks are buying guns n ammunition at historic rates. People are edgy, afraid, concerned, and perplexed. They dont trust strangers, neighbors, protesters, nor the gubt. There is almost no chance of getting any legislature thru congress in this atmosphere. Everybody is watchin eachother, and nobody trusts anybody. Im thinkin Biden is doin the usual windbag thing throwin some red meat to the usual bunches... Its the usual anti gun red meat to the children of lower estate that back the dems. My guess is that it is simply windbaggery. He will give them the usual answer: " We tried; but the redneck whitey republicans wouldnt let us do it. Does it need to be watched..? YOU BET. Do we need to keep the political pressure on the usual suspects..? YOU BET. At the end of the day, im thinkin the " sensible gun control " thing is goin nowhere. I hope im right and your mileage may vary. Thus endeth the political soloquey... TGO prognosticatin leroy... Amateur political commentator.

  12. I just wanted to thank all of you for the prayers and well wishes. I've been following the forum on my phone but not posting because of these tiny little keys. Right now, I'm still stuck in the Hampton Inn. Hoping to be back in my house within the next week. The fire at the house was confined to the garage so once they have me a path cleared through it and the power ( heat ) turned on I should be able to get back in. This has been an eye opener so watch the classifieds when I get settled in. Again, thanks for the well wishes

  16. We all know what's coming from Washington. Many Counties in TN have already passed 2A Sanctuary resolutions. However, I'd like to get a movement going to have the entire state of Tennessee declared a 2nd Amendment Sanctuary. I think that with a little nudging from the citizens that this could be done. It won't stop the feds, but it will send a message that we want no part of their BS. I sent e-mails to my State Senator and Representative today. I strongly urge everyone here to do so and encourage all your friends to join in too. The time to speak up is now.

  17. Hi all, hope you have been preparing for at least a day or more. There will probably be power outages, so be prepared. I got the gennie out of the barn and it is sitting on the back porch along with extra fuel and extension cords. Ice melt in case of blowing north wind gets the porch icy. Don't get out unless you have to, we have chickens so I have to keep them in water, but I certainly don't need a broke hip so I try to be careful. Prayers for everyone in the path of this storm.

  18. Hey y’all, keep the focus directly on the 2A. To that end, we all need to keep the pressure on all of our Congress critters and ensure they know that any action against the 2A will result in electoral consequences. Don’t threaten to vote for their opponent in the general. Even in TN most seats are safe due to gerrymandering. Threaten to find and support a primary challenger who supports the 2A. As an example, a Republican Rep will never beat Steve Cohen in Memphis, but a pro 2A democrat might strip him of his seat in the primary which is the real election for that seat. Time to get smart and get to work.

  19. I’ve been driving through across all day today. I chose 840 around Crashville because the reports showed it was already jacked up by midday. In Memphis right now, light blowing snow, roads mostly clear. N. Little Rock tonight is the goal.

  21. At least the last statement makes sense. We have to act to maintain our rights, they are all under attack. We should not be surprised the Jomalla would campaign on caskets. He has been a two faced liar during the last election, he was a two faced liar in the 1988 election campaign. It's proven he cheated and plagerized his way to the bottom group of college. She has made her way up the ladder on her knees.

  22. One thing in our favor is that the AWB of 1994 didn't work. The FBI's own report stated that this law had a negligible impact on crime control. That's why it was allowed to sunset. At least we have that to throw back in their faces.

  25. I hope you're right but we've never had the situation quite like this. What kind of message does it send to the trembling sheep that DC be wrapped inside a razor wire cage and the "tear jerking" accounts of people inside the capitol on the 6th. I think the push they have right now is stronger than it will be later. Much like Covid there's a time to strike. The only thing missing in that statement is what a NATIONAL HEALTH CRISIS guns are. I think all the other things you mention will occur naturally anyway but that's a subject NOT for TGO

  28. Funny how differnt states do things. I too was surprised by the TN system when I moved here as TN was supposed be "a freedom state". Simpe things like in Idaho where I moved from, if you had a concealed carry permit, you didn't need a NICS or background check. You filled out a 4473, handed them your permit, they wrote the permit info down and put "NA" for the background check. Gave them your cash and away you went. This is how it should be in a gun firendly, free state.

  31. Both our Senators and my Representative are pro-gun. I have no control over any of the others. But I do speak up to mine when needed to remind them of what's what. Chuck, I'm afraid Cohen is a lifer. He'll hold his seat for as long as he wants and nobody will ever take it. There was a chance last year when he was challenged by a local black minister. But he got kicked out of the Democratic Party for being anti-abortion. The fix is in for Cohen. The Dems will never let anybody worthwhile oppose him.

  39. Hey guys/gals I have been putting of starting an asparagus bed, but this is the year. We got a Burgess seed catalog a few weeks ago and I have done a little scouring the pages for some new things. I think I am also going to plant 2 or maybe 4 Hazlenut bushes. Funny thing a Hazlenut and filbert are the same thing, I don't understand why we need to words. Many, many moons ago when I was a kid in central Illinois we had a bush that was wild and produced a bunch of nuts. We planted apple and peach tree's last year. You know the saying the best time to plant fruit trees was about 8-10 years ago, the next best time is today. Hope everyone has a great gardening experience this year. I'm continuing with our raised beds, we have about 14 beds mostly 4x8 some a little longer. I wish I had done that 40+ years ago. You don't need a tiller, a fork and hoe and seeds. LOL

  40. I carry the P365 and my buddy has the Hellcat. Both are excellent guns and very reliable. My main reason for choosing the Sig was the availability of a manual safety. I won't carry a gun without one which is purely a personal choice and not a comment on the pros and cons.

  42. I still believe Kroger's pay them to "scare" people into buying all the bread and milk. I used to live in western PA, when I moved here 27yrs ago I'll never forget the first time it snowed here and we had a pretty good ice storm, well I drove to four different stores just to get a few things and two were closed and the others were out of everything. How many loaves of bread and gallons of milk does one person need, it usually only lasts a couple of days and everything is back to normal.
