I bought this at a gun show a few years back. It came with a set of stag grips. I finally located original style grips for it. This was no easy feat. In case anyone isn't familiar, this is a Smith and Wesson Heavy Frame Target Model, also referred to as a Bekeart Model. I'm not sure the year of manufacture, but it is roughly 100 years old, and chambered for 22 Long Rifle. I've always wanted one of these, but never thought i'd actually have one.3 points

I think Chuck and Chip and A.J. and a few others have done a good job covering the answer but I want to touch on the above question. We don't pull our guns to threaten people. We pull our guns to stop the threat. If the threat ends at the draw or appearance of a firearm, it was a good day. If it takes being on target but the trigger never gets pulled, again, still a good day. But if it takes an empty mag plus a few more rounds, that's the amount of force we must use. Our goal should NEVER be to threaten anyone. Our primary goal is always the same. We use the actions and force necessary to STOP THE THREAT!3 points

These are my first suppressors. I had a total of seven suppressors in jail. I purchased these at the end of August and they were approved in December. It took them an additional month to mail the stamps. Hopefully the other four will be here soon. I’m a little giddy right now. SiCo Osprey9, Dead Air Mask .22 and Surefire Socom SPS 3002 points

Actually, that's not correct. California did "grandfather in" possession of existing normal magazines when they passed the ban on sales of new ones, and when the ban was temporarily suspended by the courts, those Californians who wisely hastened to buy regular mags were allowed to keep them when the ban was reimposed. Outright bans and confiscation of guns or magazines, without any grandfathering, would unquestionably produce a flurry of lawsuits under the "takings clause" of the Fifth Amendment. Few governments want to incur the expense that would entail. But of course, tyrants wanna tyrannize, so you never know for sure.... Cheers, Whisper2 points

One of the working theories is that this is intentionally way over the top and they don't expect it to move. However, It will make the next effort look more reasonable.2 points

It’ll probably shoot just fine. Just need to remember to really clean out your rifles really well (I use a hose, not kidding) after you shoot it. I’ve got a whole bunch of German corrosive ammo that I use with no problems.2 points

TN / GA / AL Training Group On Saturday February 27 we will hold our 1st meeting for the TN/GA/AL Training Group for 2021 ! Instructor: Randy Harris (http://harriscombative.com/about/) Location: The usual place- Phillips/Edwards Farm 763 County Rd 332 Pisgah AL 35765 Time: 9AM CENTRAL time - 3PM CENTRAL time Price: $80 - pay at class cash or check. What you need to bring: Pistol, pistol magazines and 150 rounds of ammo. Revolvers are welcome if you want to party like it is 1899. We will work on smoothing out our pistol skills and will shoot several new and challenging drills that we have not done before and work to be more competent and confident with the weapon we carry most...our pistol. The pistol is far more likely to be the weapon you will have at hand when trouble starts be it robbery, terrorism or whatever. This will give participants a chance to shoot some timed and scored drills and get a feel for where their skill level is and see where they can improve . Also I will be making some 9mm ammo available so you can replenish some of what you shoot. So bring some extra cash (or check or paypal or whatever) if you want some ammo. Looking forward to seeing you there! For those wondering what the TN/GA/AL Training Group is all about....., the TN/GA/AL training group was first started as a regular opportunity for alumni of both Suarez International classes and any other classes taught by Randy Harris to gather and practice the various skills they had learned in class . As time has gone on it is open to all interested even if you have never trained with Randy before. It is not as much a structured class as it is a casual, low stress, "semi private coaching session" where Randy devises drills to work the specific skills that are the subject of the day. It is a "One room schoolhouse" where all levels of skill are invited and welcome. Randy has the ability to challenge the more advanced student while not making the less experienced students feel overwhelmed and to help the less experienced students along without making things boring for the more advanced students. And it is also a chance to meet some really good people who share the same interests. It is open to all, so come on out and see what we are about !1 point

I'm working with a group of parents to add air rifle to our county 4-H shooting sports programs. This will give the older shooters that have aged our of the BB program an opportunity to continue in shooting sports. We'll also work with the younger kids that are ready to move up to a higher competition level. We have approved air guns available but need range equipment including spotting scopes and competition style scope and rifle stands. The scopes must be able to focus at 10 meters. Thought I'd throw it out to TGO and see if anyone has some gear they no longer need. We are in the Midstate but can work out arraignments to other areas for the right deals. Thanks for your consideration.1 point

A recent conversation with a auto dealership owner was curious. He said his tire distributors are anticipating a 25% +++ increase in tire cost. Why? Oil is a large component. I'm sure in saving the environment, no one considered this impact.1 point

Well, if it were only a true compromise , but to the left, compromise means doing it their way...or else. The whole "give them an inch, they will take a mile" saying should be our mantra when it comes to giving up our rights.1 point

What is the weight of a single 5.56 round? Man, if won that, I’d haul it down to the gun show with a scoop, grocery store scale, and a bunch of plastic baggies. Sell it by weight. Could probably make $20,000.1 point

Why not? It was designed to shoot corrosive ammo just like the .45ACP.1 point

I have a trust but did one in May as an individual. Still waiting! I think I'm done with this game as I get too aggravated waiting on the imbeciles processing the paperwork. They manage to cash my check in 3 days but take 8+ months to process the paperwork.1 point

When someone who owns multiple franchise dealerships mentions it, it catches my attention. Buy hey, he's a Jimbo with idiot friends and suppliers. I hope it is incorrect and speculation. At least I don't have to learn Mandarin to be retrained to assemble 70% of the solar panels made in China. I have also made sacrifices and continue to make sacrifices to live well below my means, so I guess I can afford to get gouged at the pump and pay the overall cost of goods and services impacted by increase oil prices.1 point

And if you get that inch, immediately ask for another foot. Repeat as often as necessary to get that first foot and then more.1 point

Oil prices may go up but demand has gone down. People drive a lot less miles with so many working from home. Though once the world reopens, I expect vacations to get booked up fast.1 point

Corroive ammo was all you used to be able to get, back in the day. It probably shoots fine. You just have to be careful to clean your firearm extra well, after shooting it.1 point

Anytime I hear this sort of speculation I remind myself that it's just that. People love to throw out predictions and spread gossip about topics they really have no actual knowledge about. It's why a large percentage of the country still thinks the vaccine is more dangerous than COVID. I'm sure they read some compelling data on Facebook that makes it true. Jimbo heard from his cousin the price of tires is going up 10%. Jimbo then told his friend Curtis. Curtis posted on Facebook tire prices were going up 20%. Eventually it makes it's way up to 25%. It's like fish getting bigger each time you tell the story of catching it. According to Goodyear, they raised prices 5% this year. Michelin and Bridgestone did 8%. https://www.moderntiredealer.com/articles/31204-goodyear-consumer-tire-prices-are-on-their-way-up1 point

I've experienced this with my well worn G19 in 2015. 50K+ rounds at the time. Glock replaced the slide in very short order. It still ran fine, but my break wasn't as complete as the one in the vid. I didn't even notice it until I went to break down the gun for cleaning after a long range session. (Remember those...back when ammo was plentiful? ) And I still carry and shoot that sucker on a regular basis.1 point

Remember this... All machines have weak spots. It's the nature of things. Use em enough, and ya will find em. Generally, the service life of most machines is far greater than the " practical " life if the machine. That said; i think there are basically two approaches to modern polymer pistol slide design. The first (...and my perferred approach... ) is to make the slide light and the recoil spring strong... I think that is what Glock does and why they feel good in hand. The second approach is to make the slide heavy and lighten the spring. ALA the Springfiekd XD... They work well, but feel (.. To me, at least..) a bit top heavy. Remember, most everything is a trade off of some kind. leroy...1 point

Check this out : from left to right is Glock 17 Gen 5 , Beretta 92FS , CZ75 , and Ruger P89. See how beefier the others are compared to Glock ? I'm just a nerd with OCD but I think it's very interesting and wonder why Glock doesn't reinforce that area .1 point

Each airline may have different/more restrictive regs, even to the point of not allowing any firearms. Be sure to check their website. A common mistake is a flimsy, pryable box, such as a factory box to house the firearm. Needs to be a quality box, even one of the metal security boxes. Ammo can be included in the same box as the firearm. Loose rounds are prohibited, but one can pack loaded magazines in a mag holster and be good to go.1 point
