For the past few years, we have used Amazon's AWS S3 storage for file attachments, profile photos, etc. I am in the process of pulling that data back onto TGO's own web server for a variety of reasons. While these tasks run in the background, you may notice that some photos and file attachments don't work for a few moments. They will resume working properly as each file moves over. This does several things for us: 1.) It removes a dependency on a hosting platform that has proven it will cut you off at a moment's notice if they do not approve of your content. 2.) It strengthens our SSL encryption a little by keeping all content served up from one server. 3.) It gives me some options if I want to move us to a different software package. Before you freak out about that third bullet, I am not actively pursuing that but I am always watching to see what advancements other platforms are making.9 points

I would gladly of went to MOPP4 in the case of Ebola, and would have followed many of the CDC's guidelines this time if not for the blatant lies we are being force fed. I am still waiting for the HAZMAT collection points for all these CCP virus contaminated masks many are forced to use. If it is dangerous enough to mandate masks, then it is dangerous enough to mandate special handling of contaminated material. NY and some other leftists states are already jumping at the bit to reopen, what has changed in the last few weeks that reopening is now ok? Yea, rhetorical, I know what has changed.4 points

I'm just glad that we're all dealing with COVID-19 and not Ebola. I don't think our society would survive something like Ebola given how many people still seem willing to ignore the recommendations of medical scientists despite 11-months worth of consequences being on display for everyone to see with their own two eyes.4 points

I do have the Ruger SR22 I also recently picked up. It shoots great. After the fiasco with the Mosquito, I put 50 flawless rounds through it to end on a good note.4 points

A word on the QAnon folks right now - specifically with what we've learned about getting folks out of cults: If you know anyone who has gone down this rabbit hole - their world is falling apart right now. Yes, it makes zero sense. It's based in emotion more than reality. But it's real to them right now - and their world is upside down. If you know someone who's into this - they've probably alienated themselves a lot over the last year. You probably don't want to deal with them. But, if there are people you care about - this afternoon, today, and tomorrow represent critical opportunities to help them get out. And, it's through relationships that they once cared about that will offer a path out. It's worth reaching out to them. Be kind. Lead with emotional connection. It sounds weird, but facts have nothing to do with cults. They're looking for what to do next right now - and you can open the door to what's next. Not everyone will take it - but there are people we deeply care about who are hurting - and some of them might.3 points

So, this was an itch better left unscratched. I should have just trusted in the wisdom of the TGO, but I really liked the pistol. I really wanted the Mosquito Sport to be a deal, but it was a dud. I took it to the range and tried several different brands and types of ammo. It did not like the Remington HP, CCI HP, CCI Standard Velocity, or the Federal target. I tried both recoil springs. It would missfire, fail to eject, stove pipe, fail to feed, etc. When it did shoot, it was very nice, felt great, but I don’t think I was able to shoot an entire mag without a problem. For the Federal, I had to rack the slide every time to shoot. So, I welcome the “I told you so” comments. I should have listened. If you have one and it works well, I’m a little jealous. I do want to give props to Music City Pawn in Nashville. I use them for my FFL, but this was my first purchase from them. They told me I had 48 hours to check it out and return it. I took it home, gave it a good cleaning and then took it to the range (with the above results). They took it back no questions asked. If you want a good inexpensive FFL, I recommend. They only charge $25 plus the $10 background.3 points

Pretty pitiful...a lot of those people had gone down that insane Q rabbit hole. I was a fly on the wall of a Q group for awhile the amount of BS is incredible and its like trying to tell a 3yr old Santa doesn't exist when you point out all the inconsistencies and the changing timelines and the dates of "big events" that never happen....reminds me a lot of scientology actually. I think a lot of people bored and unfulfilled by daily life find conspiracies to give them some feeling of belonging to an in crowd and a big idea. They would be better served playing video games, learning a new life skill, hobby, or contributing their time to charity.3 points

You're on land taken from Indians. You should be ashamed of yourself. You support the murder and relocation of indigenous people. You're ancestors are probably the ones that gave infected blankets to Indians. I mean,...... if we are making assumptions and all.3 points

I wear pretty much whatever my wife brings home in my size. She is cheap, so I'm sure none cost more than $20. Some of the best ones were from second hand stores and GoodWIll. She is also really good at patching my old ones.2 points

I'm a little cheap too, but I buy Wrangler mostly because they have a couple extra belt loops that make my carry belt happy.2 points

If you look at a picture of my father - particularly in the summer - you would instantly think American Indian. He has black hair, high cheekbones, and would get dark brown in just a few exposures to a spring sun. My father is from Oklahoma and told us that his grandmother was a runaway from the Indian Nation at the age of 12. As I get older, my sisters tell me that I look just like him but only in a pasty white version. My mother is reportedly from a Irish/Scottish heritage mainly from the Craig Clan in Scotland. My great-grandmother's name was Craig. My sir name is very much so English. As far as the genetic testing sites are concerned, I took a DNA test from what was supposedly the best rated testing orgs: CRI Genetics. They do a scrape of the inside of your mouth rather than a spit. What did the DNA test show? Zero % American Indian and mostly German/French and even a little Jewish. I'm sure that some will think that I am adopted: however, my oldest sister is 6 years older than I, and she vividly remembers mom being pregnant with me and visiting me at the hospital to see her scrawny, red-faced brother right after my birth. As far as I'm concerned the DNA testing is a scam.2 points

In the past 48 hours I have learned that the outlaw Jesse James is a distant relative. My dad had heard this as a kid but wasn't sure if it was actually true so I searched for him in that website and it confirmed it. I've also learned that my 9th great granduncle came over on the Mayflower. This guy- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_Samson2 points

I've seen that video so many times the past week but each time I watch it I pick up on something new. He pulled out his carry gun. I'm really not sure what he was attempting to do with it. What I really hate is that it appears the group of 4 young people on the right might be new shooters. I hate the that they had to experience that.2 points

My sister-in-law, who is a reasonably intelligent woman, has gone down that rabbit hole. Some of the crap that she's telling my wife and mother-in-law is just mind-boggling stupid. She doesn't even see it when my wife points out the irrationality of it - like when she said a certain congressman was in Gitmo when he was giving a speech on the house floor. My MIL is in her mid 80's, and she doesn't need the fear in her life that her daughter is causing by telling her about all these crap stories & theories. It pisses me off!2 points

Believe it or not, this should be cheaper for us in the long run. I won't have to pay AWS each month.2 points

Amazon gives users the option to select a charity and they make a donation everytime you purchase something. Years ago, I chose the NRA. Although, I'm not a big fan of what they have been doing (or not doing) for the past few years, I never changed it. So as far as I know everytime I make an Amazon purchase, a bit of that purchase goes to the NRA. Just kind of sticking it to the man I guess.2 points

Time for a fundraiser? And kudos on the move. Amazon is definitely the latest incarnation of the evil empire...2 points

It really pisses me off that the Confederate Battle Flag has been turned into a symbol of hate. I happen to be proud of my Southern Heritage, but I don't dare show it without people judging me wrongly. Another thing is the Celebrate Diversity thing. Be proud of your heritage, family history, national lineage, etc. Except of course if you happen to a Southern, White American. In that case its perfectly acceptable to discriminate and automatically assume that person is a racist, anti-government idiot. Equality is for other people.2 points

Thanks for the add to the community. TN born and raised. Originally from West TN, been in Nashville for the last 8 years. Looking forward to learning and sharing with everyone. When I'm not trying to spend money I don't have on new guns I'm trying to spend it on new bass guitars lol.1 point

I almost hate to admit this being a lifelong Levi’s man (after the tragic Sears Toughskins upbringing that I had no control over), but I’ve been wearing nothing but Academy’s Magellan house brand jeans for years now. They fit and wear great, especially in the part that really matters. I’ve never seen them priced over $17.99, lol.1 point

Not disagreeing with you entirely, but yes to your question about testing and field work ... Benelli did it. If they are making a true clone then there is little difference. Then you are looking at individual parts that if they don't hold up can be replaced with Benelli or better aftermarket parts. I have used the Hawk/IAC/Pardener 870 clones and believe they are better than the Remington's. The Hawk I have, actually has a better grade steel than Remington's due to US EPA regulations and it takes straight 870 part with only a slight modification to the forearm. It's not different than 1911's or AR's other than scale.1 point

Is this a serious question? Ever heard of HPV vaccine? It’s gonna save millions of women from cervical cancer in the coming generations. “Cancer” isn’t just one thing. It’s hundreds or thousands. As the husband of a physician it’s pretty offensive (not really I don’t care what y’all do or do not believe) that people think that cures would be suppressed for money. They amount of universal collusion it would require to keep that farce going is virtually impossible. Much like the idea that Covid-19 is a ploy to manipulate humanity. I just don’t believe that many people can all agree to follow the same plan for such a thing to be successful1 point

Why is it that someone cant simply take a minimum level of precautions without being "scared?" I am not so concerned with my own health but I am concerned for my son who has asthma, for our elderly neighbors, for my coworkers, and even the rest of my fellow citizens. This isnt an either or issue. It doesnt mean you are terrified etc. It means you have empathy for your fellow human beings and hope to prevent spreading something you may carry with no or little symptoms at all.1 point
