If only it was the Democrats. The governing class doesn't give a #### about us. Feel free to choose a party to piss on. They're both the same.5 points

It sucks for the UT players but honestly Army deserves it a lot more than we did. I'm glad the cadets get to play after winning 9 games they deserve it.3 points

I've never believed its something you can avoid getting all together rather than delaying "your turn". A politican standing behind a podium will comfort some and enrage others but won't change the course of what the entire world is facing.3 points

He's a politician. You won't get an honest, candid, straight answer out of him. I learned this lesson in 11th or 12th grade. Our English teacher (I was her pet student) had somehow managed (campaign contribution?) to get 2 competing state senators to come to our high school to field some questions from the students. In hindsight, it was a well organized photo op before an election. Teacher told me I would be picked to ask a question of the candidates, to dress nice (cameras boy!), and make it a good one. Being familiar with the slimy nature of swamp critters I earnestly tried to craft a question about abortion such that it could only be answered binary: yes I support, no I don't. News crews filled the parking lot, the cafeteria was re-arranged into a stage, lights, camera... The first SOB spent about 7 minutes going on and on and on about I don't even know. The second guy chimed in and said his stance was pretty much in agreement with his competitor. Neither one said 'yes' or 'no'. They're all liars, bums, and crooks. If their lips are moving, they're lying to you. Theres a reason we used to tar and feather them. If they survived the process, they would never have that role again. The stains and boils were permanent you see? Gov. Lee did what all good Politicians do. He danced the two step, catered to both sides of an issue and created non-commital action. So he can say he did something out of one side of his mouth while saying he didn't out of the other. #####g politicians... hate them all, worst scum of the earth.3 points

99% of the time that I get a call from someone not saved in my contacts it is spam. I don't even answer them. If it's important they will leave a voicemail.3 points

We got a great view 2 nights in a row with my Leupold spotting scope. At 60x, you could see 4 of Jupiter’s moons clearly tonight and Saturn’s rings were no problem either - even here in the city lights.2 points

Im actually shocked that anyone in fentress county hasn’t seen any hogs. We used to manage 25,000 acres up there and it was flat out covered with hogs. One neighbor farmer killed 35 in one weekend. as for Tennessee as a whole we have plenty of hogs but nothing compared to some other southern states especially Texas. A few years ago TWRA took hogs off the big game species list making them illegal to hunt. Now you can still kill them on private property and such but the biggest problem was commercial hunters and guides were transporting wild hogs all of the state to make a profit. So delisting the hogs made it easier to prosecute and cite anyone who had hogs. Hogs are one of those things that we’d never eradicate. Not enough hunters or trappers anymore to even make a dent.2 points

My good friend Bill Irwin is the only blind person to thru hike the entire Appalahcian trail. He did this with help from his guide dog. His dog had no training how to read trail markings but lead him the whole way. Bill and the dog have both passed on now but quite an inspiring story. https://www.guideposts.org/better-living/travel/led-by-faith-to-conquer-the-appalachian-trail2 points

They are being decided based on what the politicians think will make them look the best. You only need to look at who its killing to see who should be first. This ain’t rocket science, yet they want to make it seem like it is. My 90 year old parents are in assisted living and suppose to get the vaccine this week. I’ll feel a lot better when they do.2 points

I feel the same way for the most part. Trump was the 1st I could trust for the most part, Lee came in a close 2nd.2 points

ATF, FBI, NSA, CIA, EPA, DOT, USPS, DOE, DHS, NASA... Does it REALLY matter which alphabet agency it was? Pretty much all the same assholes regardless.2 points

The radiologists I support in Nashville have all either gotten the first round of the vaccine, or are eligible for it. Internally, we prioritized those who are hands on with patients doing procedures, followed by those with exposure in proximity, then those who read ED studies from home. You may think it's weird that someone who sits at home for their shift gets some priority for the vaccine, but when that person is reading trauma and stroke cases out of the ED, I promise you want them healthy and focused. The idea behind the emergency medical community going first is to ensure hospital staffing can be kept stable and absorb what still comes as the vaccine makes its way to the general public. A lot of facilities have had staffing issues from a COVID spread, and that can cause some pain points in a hurry. I'm all for the elderly getting it in high priority after that. Admittedly, I've not followed the order of vaccination outside of my work...I figured since I'm not clinical, I'll get it when my PCP says it's available. I'm content to wait my turn so others in more need can go ahead of me.2 points

Young ones and smaller ones eat just fine. They are generally leaner than factory farmed hogs. Taste can vary depending on what they’re getting in their diet. Interestingly, people often describe it as meatier tasting than regular factory farmed pork. As with any hunt, I think treating the animal with integrity after the kill has more impact on taste than anything.2 points

Add this to the category of don’t need, but must have. I just ordered this pistol. I’m certain I overpaid for it, but such are the times. I’ve owned four 15-22 carbines. I still have one in fde. I have a ton of .22 ammo so the carbine, my G44 and this pistol will get to the range more. I can’t wait to get my Dead Air Mask silencer. I’ll throw a Vortex Spitfire or Swamp Fox Blade on this pistol and have a little .22 fun.1 point

A boxer dog named Dexter is going viral for leading his blind canine companion, Ginger, safely down a flight of stairs, according to a video. The video showed Dexter using his body and the wall to safely guide Ginger down the stairs without falling. He patiently stopped on each step, waiting for Ginger to catch up before moving on to the next step. The kind dog looked back repeatedly to reassure his companion, and both dogs began to wag their tails once they reached the bottom of the stairwell.1 point

Savage 110 Tactical Desert in 6.5 Creed. I added the extra camo to it myself because I didn’t like the solid FDE as much as most people do.1 point

We checked it out around 8 last night. My first thoughts were "my telescope is buried somewhere at my fathers house, lol". He would drag that thing out nightly and would have been giddy over this. It did look as though they were on top of each other with the naked eye.1 point

Well, first of all, Congress didn't make such a law. Secondly, even though this right is incorporated for the states, Bill Lee has made no such law either. I believe the TN Constitution allows such actions, hence the fairly wide range of emergency powers granted to him under TCA. He could legally go much further. Most, maybe all other states are similar in relation to the extent of the Gov's powers in this regard. - OS1 point

My muzzleloader buck And this buck I got yesterday with my 6.5 finished out my season unless I take a doe for extra meat in the freezer. Now after the coyotes and bobcats I go! Hope everyone had a good and safe season and good luck to those still chasing them.1 point

@DaveTN - Thanks, had not heard this. Glad the Marlin will live on with a quality manufacturer. I hope the employees affected are taken care of. Also explains why the 45-70 I want went from $900 to $2900. I have a 1973 JM 336 that will stay with me til the end.1 point

Also, the lesson that @The Big Guyand @Big Gai Anti-Gun Communistfailed to learn was that even if someone nominally agrees with you, being a bloviating asshole ruins any chance of them being on your side. I value the health of this community over any individual person or opinion.1 point

You can tongue-punch my fart hole, too. The work I've done this afternoon to restructure the forums and set new restrictions is because of you and a few others who have used TGO as a dumping ground for your biases, ignorance and opinionated yet misinformed bloviations. I refunded your membership because it's worth it to get rid of you. I hope Santa brings you a whole big bag of dicks.1 point

We currently have a Boxer. All you people saying they don't live long just need to shut your mouths. She is probably the best dog I have ever owned. Very smart, loving and playful. Never once even looked funny at the grand kids, no mater how much poking or pulling. But, be a stranger and she will puff up and growl and put herself between them and us. We have a Dachshund too, who is suffering from severe doggie dementia (that is another story altogether) and the Boxer takes care of him just like in the video. She puts up with his crap, and is always gentle and kind with him. Sticks with him when he gets lost in the fenced in yard and guides him back to the house. They are an awesome breed. I can't imagine owning any other kind of dog.1 point

I order from them frequently. My only complaint is their shipping. They use that sure post or whatever it's called (shipped UPS then turned over to USPS) and it delays arrival for sometimes two days here. I did figure out though, if you include any ammo in your order (50 round box of .22 ) they will ship the whole thing UPS. Of course, that was when they had ammo !!1 point
