Starting in the upper right and going counter wise we start with some nice steaks from the top sirloin, a small sirloin roast, some thin steaks from the bottom sirloin (will be pounded out and made into chicken fried steak), shank, fajita strips from the bottom sirloin, two large roasts and the eye of round.

  4. To put a legal business out of business. If you can't get what you want legally, use what you got. A raid doesn't have to produce evidence of crime, It only has to intimidate and scare potential customers off. ATF headache solved.

  8. So your point is that one person should not be able to purchase any amount he or she can legally buy? If the statement is correct, this person is a "shooter" and saw that his needs and supplies might be cut off; so he prepared himself for that event. This is wrong? Do you have any "extra" ammo above and beyond your "reasonable shooting needs" stored away? And who decides what "reasonable needs are? No, I have to disagree with you on this. You probably, at least you should be, keeping a bit of extra foods and other supplies in your home. Who decides what amount of that is reasonable? YOU. So while I might envy a person's preparedness, I will not besmirch him for it.

  9. I've begun to embrace the mask. Hat brim pulled down, mask high and tight and choice of dark sunglasses... The new well dressed man. I used it to announce, "stay away from me." I don't want unknown people particularly close me, healthy or otherwise. Social distancing should make it a little more obvious if a BG is trying to close distance.

  13. In case no one has told you yet.... It ain't about your health. The inconsistency you are observing is real, and belies the truth. We are each able to choose whether we accept what we are told, or what we observe. That ringing in your ears when you try, is called cognitive dissonance. Your brain already knows the truth, your consciousness is trying to decide if its better to just stick your head in the sand. The consequences of accepting the alternative _is_ a wee bit uncomfortable for some.

  15. And that's a good thing, a consequence of nominating and confirming conservative justices. One of the hallmarks of conservatism in jurisprudence is a reluctance to intervene in states' internal matters, as well as a strict interpretation of constitutional law. The SCOTUS upheld these ideals in rejecting the Texas case and their refusal to allow one state to dictate to others how to run their elections. The Trump administration (well, along with Mitch McConnell who has probably been more instrumental in shaping the federal judiciary to be honest) has put an indelible conservative stamp on both the SCOTUS and the remainder of the Federal court system, actions which will do more to benefit the country than any of Trump's other endeavors. However one of the consequences of seating more conservative judges is to lessen the influence that politics and politicians have on the judiciary. This is a good thing, even if it causes Trump to have a hissy fit over this one case rejection ...

  17. Lord I've kicked the hornet's nest (appreciate the mostly civil reactions) Alright keeping this simple: I personally believe in background checks for all firearms at point of sale (not private person to person) I'm not a fan of Polymer 80's build and bang kit because I do believe its just a simple perversion of the law. (much like those "fuel filter" suppressor kits on facebook marketplace) I do wish some of this passion was shown by the older folks here when Reagan was banning no new machine guns for civilians....still can't believe you all and the NRA rolled over for that one. I wish some more passion was shown when Trump used executive order to ban bumpstocks after one mass shooting. At the end of the day I guess firearms to felons doesn't really matter at all when we are experiencing a 9/11 every day in this country due to silly politics and anti-science beliefs. When the USA is losing 3,000 per day (which we all acutely felt recently with the passing of our good friend Mikey) who cares about some gun violence that doesn't even move the needle.

  18. Bradbury covered the technique beautifully in Fahrenheit 451. Are we at War with EastAsia? Who cares, time for the 2 minutes hate everyone! What scares me (not to segue), but if your eyes are open and you were exposed to this literature in HS, it is literally happening before your eyes. We were warned. Exactly as laid out in Huxleys works, too.

  19. Here's more happy news for you all: BATFE is now visiting consumers who purchased the Polymer 80 "Buy, Build, Shoot" kits and demanding forfeiture and threatening that they will return with a warrant and raid the consumer's home. https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2020/12/11/polymer80-kits/ This #### is 100% unacceptable. BATFE is clearly getting ballsy now that they think a new captain will be at the wheel of the ship in a few weeks. Buckle up, folks. It's going to be ugly if Harris and her rickety old Trojan Horse get into office.

  20. I'll apologize to all, for what I said. Im an A$$hole and I know it and its not fair to sling anything at anyone and its not right. Ill also say this, when someone claims your peaceful activity should be illegal you should be offended. They're saying although you harm no one you should be forced into a cage for what you enjoy doing. Don't call yourself a libertarian if thats the way you think. You're not a libertarian. Many a right has gone down the drain because Republicans will actively support "common sense" restrictions and that leads to openings for further legislation to chip away at your rights. Also, i don't beleive you should have to compromise in a situation where your actions and or the ownership of property is peaceful and does not directly result in harm to others. Murder is illegal, assualt is illegal. Do we need to go further? Do we need to ban hammers and ice picks? Where is the line? Further why is it at that exact spot? Why stop at hommade firearms?

  26. I don't pretend to know a lot about what Polymer80 was selling or about the raid. Did watch the video. For discussion lets give Polymer80 the benefit of the doubt and say they thought they were within the law selling the kits. So why do a raid. Why not just visit the company, work with them and come up with a solution. Even it would be "Hey you can't sell these anymore without a background check. They have to be serialized etc. I doubt Polymer80 is a huge "Threat to Society". Why raid? Just a thought.

  27. When you see the Dell logo during POST, press the F2 key to enter the setup screen. They are kinda touchy and it may take a few tries. Look for the BOOT settings. Right now the hard drive is the first boot device. Make the first boot device whatever you are going to try to boot from, whether that be a Windows DVD, or a USB drive. Make the second device the hard drive. If you install windows from a USB drive, it will reach a point where it reboots. You need to reenter the bios and change the boot order making the hard drive the first device; otherwise it will start the install process over. If it does that; don’t worry. Hold the power button down until the PC shuts off. Remove the USB drive and turn the power back on. The Windows install will continue and if it needs anymore info from the install USB; it will prompt you to plug it back in. If you aren’t trying to save any files on that PC, you don’t need that backup restored. And I wouldn’t do that unless you have a reason. Windows can do a clean install and then you can start adding stuff. That will tell you if the hard drive is bad. But even if it is, and you get a new hard drive; you still need to be able to boot from wherever you are installing Windows from. Don’t worry about buying windows. Windows 10 will install without a key. It will probably recognize your hardware and activate. If it doesn’t; you will have a functioning operating system for awhile and you can either buy a key, or then use whatever software you used to make that back-up and you can reinstall it. There have been a lot of changes in Windows 10, and installing the latest version would certainly make things easier.

  28. SSD drives fail. I'd just buy a SSD off eBay. I found a new Dell 128Gb SSD for $22 with free shipping. I put a 256GB SSD in my older Dell laptop last year. It was easy. If I recall correctly, it was $45 or so. I *think* it recognized the old key and I didn't have to pay for Windows. I don't remember. Maybe I had the old keycode somewhere. I'm sure I didn't have to pay for Windows. Regardless, it turned my dinosaur into a fast, functional backup laptop.

  30. My dad was a fan as well. Being the time frame it was, and in an area that still had a few less "woke" people, Dad did have some colorful ways of expressing how he liked Charlie. lol Did you guys know that Steelharp (RIP Buddy) worked with Charlie several times. Played harmonica and steel guitar on several tracks. I apologize for not remembering which ones Michael told me once. I remember Dad having an 8 track of Charlie that he had in his old truck. Played it quite a bit. Back in those days I wasn't much of a country fan, but I did listen and sort of liked it. lol Well...age has given me a different outlook. lol Before Dad passed on, I became quite a country fan. Well, Charlie, May you Rest In Peace. And join in with Michael in the Heavenly Band.

  31. Buying one of these 80% deals is like leaving a trail of bread crumbs to your front door. Running your mouth about anything that requires a license or a fee collected on is going to attract unwanted attention. The wind is not in our favor at all if it ever was. I see a round up on the horizon and as stated earlier (legal today no Bueno tomorrow)

I just hope it really helps some of the people. The cynic in me wonders how many had stuff in there that really shouldn't have been because they have more critical things to pay for. Either way Merry Christmas to them. Been a while, but I remember the days of layaway to afford a surprise for the kids or wife.

  37. I doubt very much that gang bangers, or those that don’t want paperwork, are buying 80% plastic lowers. Why would they when they can just buy a real lower, or a complete firearm? Or just steal them? I suspect people that buy plastic guns are just tinkerers that need something to keep busy with.

  38. I did an opinion piece on this last year. It sucks BAD that it feels like I was clairvoyant in respect to this, but the Cliffs Notes go like this: Constrict the supply of ammunition through EPA regulations and other "end runs" that make it difficult or impossible to feed the gun. Declare "undesirable" categories of weapons as NFA devices and force people to apply for an NFA stamp and register them. (Step 1) Declare that these NFA items are non-transferrable beyond the current owner, whether that be an individual or a trust. (Step 2) Within two generations, tops, all of the undesirable guns will either be forfeited or illegal contraband... that you can't feed or allow to be seen in public. We are currently in the first bullet point. The second bullet point is coming.

  39. Just so you have a north star for what I am about to say, if you take the Constitution and Bill of Rights at face value, all gun laws are infringements upon your rights. So let's build from there. It is 100% legal to build a firearm from either scratch or from an 80% complete component which would otherwise be serialized for your own use, not for resale, and not serialize it. What bootlicking logic are you abiding by that would cause you to serialize a thing that you legally built for yourself when serializing it isn't required? There are many other firearms that you can build from an 80% kit. Muskets, cap and ball pistols, AR pattern rifles, and a multitude of modern striker fired 80% polymer pistols based upon the Glock Gen 3 design. Polymer 80 was the first to bring the latter to market and it has inspired a cottage industry. Further, the BATFE currently - apparently - doesn't even have a problem with that, per se, since their grievance with P80 seems to be with a particular package and not with the 80% receiver itself. Beyond that, anyone with basic tools can build a gun. It may not be sexy and may not be polymer, but it's easily done and probably far more often than you or I will ever have any way to ascertain the frequency of. Because it's legal and private and legal to be private and no one has to tell a soul about it, account for it, serialize it, register it, or report it. Those are the true "ghost guns" because there is no paper trail. There are no invoices, no shipping receipts, no bills of lading. They. Don't. Exist. And that is ####ing awesome. I really wonder about people like you who seem to have a problem with firearms ownership if it's not tracked or restricted. Do you have similar complaints about home-brewing of beer? It feels like fair-weather support of the Second Amendment to me, but I guess maybe I am just more tired of infringement than you are. Since you are this opposed to 80% firearms, I presume we won't see any for sale at premium prices a few weeks from now when supply is short and demand is high.

  41. I don’t own any 80% stuff and have no plans to, but to mem the attraction is having unregistered guns in case guns are ever confiscated by the Gov’t in some ban situation. I know, I know, not likely, which is one reason I don’t have one, couple with the fact I’d probably screw up the completion, lol.

  42. I'm no expert, but I did check the serial number which says its a 1942-43 Remington Rand frame. The slide is clearly marked Remington Rand and I don't see any arsenal rebuild marks anywhere. Bubba, I do believe you just might have yourself a completely original WW II 1911A1. You'd need to check markings on internal parts to be absolutely sure. But that is one Hell of a find! Most all G.I. 1911s have been arsenal rebuilt at least once. An unmolested all original gun is rare and quite collectible. I can't even guess as to its value.
