  1. I have to brag on my beautiful bride for getting me a Hold Up Displays 12 gun rack for my birthday. She is my best friend and puts up with all my craziness. Got it put up today and decided to show a few of my lever guns. When I open the door to the man cave this view smacks me in the face. I am truly Blessed!

  4. Well, I had a great dinner without ever leaving the house. Daughter and son in law showed up just long enough to bring me dinner which they brought enough for about 3 people so I have plenty of left overs for a couple days. And for desert I have my choice of Homemade Pecan pie, Homemade Pumpkin Pie or homemade Cheesecake and I couldn't believe it but she made me a Mincemeat Pie just for me which will be my first choice......LOL. For years I have said how much I miss not having any Mincemeat Pie at Thanksgiving and no one has ever made it in the family. All they said is that's a Yankee pie and not made down south. Once in a while I will see a can of it on a shelf in certain stores but only during the holiday season. Publix has it during the Holidays. This year my daughter looked up how to make it from scratch on the computer and she made me one. I have Turkey, Ham, Green Bean casserole, Mash taters, dressing, Cranberry sauce, Dumplings, Canned Yams and Rolls and probably missed something but fridge is full of food......LOL!

  6. The cost for being unprepared can be expensive. We were raised to be prepared first, then add other things. Seems it's just the opposite today.

  7. You don't have to worry about the vaccine altering your DNA because it doesn't. As opposed to the traditional method of weakening a virus and then introducing it into your body so that you mount an immune response to a specific protein found on the virus, the DNA and RNA vaccines introduce genetic sequences of the virus into your body. Certain cells then use that genetic material to produce the targeted protein, which then stimulates the the immune response. The cells do not mutate (i.e., change their own DNA). There are actually a host of reasons why DNA and RNA vaccinations are a lot safer than traditional vaccinations. In my practice, I vaccinate cats daily with a recombinant DNA rabies vaccination. The traditional killed-virus rabies vaccination has a 1 in 10,000 chance of stimulating tumors (presumably due to the additives needed to stimulate the immune system to respond to an inactivated virus). The "new" vaccine (which has been around for at least 20 years) is much less likely to have any side effects because the they can pare it down to the most essential components necessary to stimulate an immune response. It is also just as effective as the traditional vaccination. The same principles will translate to the coronavirus vaccination, and I am hopeful that one day they can make other coronavirus vaccinations for human colds and potentially FIP (a nearly 100% fatal disease in cats caused by a coronavirus). If the coronavirus vaccination was available to my family today, the only two things I would consider is efficacy and safety. If I looked at the numbers and saw that adverse reactions were no greater than any other vaccination, we would all four get the vaccination. Realistically, there will be hundreds of thousands of people around the world who will get it before my family can get it, so there will be even more safety data available by that time. I am an essential worker in Tennessee, but I live in Georgia, so I don't know how that will effect when I get vaccinated.

  8. They’re not. Not only do they not get sick, they don’t seem to spread it either. If any group should be at the very bottom of the list, it’s kids. My dad who is in his mid-60s and staying at home today because he doesn’t want to take any risks should be way ahead in line for a vaccine than my 3 kids (3y &9y). It’s stupid.

  10. We better hope the SCOTUS helps. They are going to have to do their job. “It’s within our grasp to end our gun violence epidemic and respect the Second Amendment, which is limited.” The SCOTUS has to quit dodging the issues and lay out precisely what our rights are. Of course if the Dems are allowed to pack the court; that will be a problem. We just lost Remington even with the “Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act”. They could no longer afford to defend themselves. If that is repealed; all our American gun manufacturers will be gone. And it appears “imports” can be easily stopped. I suspect this won’t stop with guns either. If they can justify holding the gun manufacturers accountable for the actions of criminals; they can do the same with Drunk drivers and the automobile industry. Its about paydays for people that live off the government and they will do anything to do that; no matter what the cost to our economy and the working class. Liberals want to destroy big business and the wealthy. They aren't smart enough to understand the consequences, or they just don’t care, as long as it gets them reelected. I suspect, just like the Presidential election, truck loads of illegal ballots will show up in Georgia and the Senate could be compromised.

  11. I've probably posted these before, but I had them out of the safe and snapped a picture. My father made each of my sons a deer rifle. They are Mexican Mauser actions with Timney triggers and David Miller 3 position safeties. They are both chambered for 257 Roberts. I hope they will appreciate them as much as I do.

  12. Happy Turkey to all you turkeys. Jus me, my darling bride and the furry critters this year. My crew showed up last weekend for my birthday. So, I'd like to wish every one of my fellow curmudgeons here a safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving. You folks are like my giant dysfunctional family. Stay safe, all y'all.

  13. And my 90 year old parents who are in assisted living, quarantined to their apartment. It goes through those places like wild fire and those people are without a doubt the highest risk for death. They should be in the same category as healthcare workers. It’s the government. I thought they were on a path to being on top of this vaccine rollout. I should have known better.

  14. I could be wrong, but I don’t think any of that will help. There is too little time, too many jurisdictions, too many criminals counting and changing ballots, and too little hard core evidence that can be used in court. Couple that with a mindset that criminal acts are justified to get their way “at any cost”, fear of riots if the elections were legitimate, and the biggest percentage of the media siding with the liberals; and we have a problem that will be tough to overcome.

  15. Well by George the Dems DO have a plan for us 2A folks. No wonder they never uttered a peep about it on the campaign trail. Oh...you can donate to Daddy Dementia if you’re so minded after you read the plan that’s coming. https://joebiden.com/gunsafety/#

  16. Big trees from little acorns grow. It's small steps my friend. But you are on the mend! Soon be slinging those products around again. Been thinking a lot about you. Every time I've woken up the last few nights, you and a couple others are always in my thoughts. It seems I fall asleep asking for help for my friends and family. That's good I think. Problem is I only sleep a couple hours at a time. Fell asleep here at my desk after Wife and I ate our Thanksgiving Dinner. Man that turkey is lethal. Best sleep aid I've ever found. lol Keep resting and let us know how both of you are.

  19. "There are proven strategies for reducing gun violence in urban communities without turning to incarceration. " So we sure don't want to put gangsters in jail, but those of us who've never committed a crime should have our property taxed or be forced to sell it to the government! I suppose I could have quoted darned near the entire article with things I find outrageous. There was one paragraph that I agree with, though. The suggestion that LE be notified any time someone fails a background check. Those who are prohibited from firearms possession and who lie on the 4470 should be prosecuted and punished. SCOTUS will certainly be important in all of this, and with Roberts' record we cannot count on him. Therefore, the senate races in Georgia become extremely important to any of us who value our natural right of self-defense. I'm going to donate a little money to the republican candidates there. I sure can't compete with the Hollywood elites who are pouring money into those races, but maybe a little bit will help. Thanks Randall53, for linking this information!

  25. Sure, I will. Because the Trump Administration got it through with Operation Warp Speed, by throwing money at it and negotiating with the FDA. They are afraid there is something in the design to kill liberals; or at least make them see the light.

  26. Got blessed with one of the biggest deer I've ever killed this morning on public land in Scott County. Even got to break the Remington 450 Bushmaster in. Tagged out on bucks for this season, its been a great season on public land. And the freezer is full of meat.

  28. Exactly. There have been five kids test positive at my daughter's middle school this semester. Roughly 70% of kids are going to school and the rest are doing virtual. It's a non-issue.

  30. I’d take it tomorrow, no questions asked; I see it as my duty to help end this thing and save lives. So, I guess I’ll be the last to get it. I would think all front-line workers being exposed everyday would want to take it. But I’ve been wrong before.

  31. My family are all here, and I am so glad. Hope we stay clear from Coved, but we wanted to see them, a few for the first time in a year. We had the 12th birthday party for our youngest grandson Tuesday afternoon. I purchased him a Realtree "Edge" Camo hunting outfit. Great time. He put it on and promptly went out in the rain to see if it was water proof. It was. Happy Thanksgiving to you all.

  32. Exactly! All we have heard is how the kids need to be in school because their rates are nearly zero. The dissenters claim they will bring it home to Grandma and Grandpa. Yet it appears Grandma and Grandpa will be in the last group, getting the vaccine next summer. That’s crazy.

  44. Yeah, with the changes we are seeing now, I doubt it will be long before you can’t sell anything firearm related on any of those sites; including paper targets.

  45. True. The criminals won’t be satisfied with Biden being elected. I mean, come on, its an old white man and an ex-cop; that’s not going to work for them. They have seen that burning out innocent people’s business, beating them, and terrorizing people on the street will be treated in many cities as civil disobedience. Law enforcement has failed to protect Americans from these animals, and we obviously need a path to protect ourselves; that is a right that many don’t want to acknowledge. Of course, those jurisdictions that have given the Police orders to stand down and allowed thugs to take over their streets won’t enforce the laws already in place to stop that. I suspect they will not acknowledge any laws put in place to stop those criminals and will bring to trial anyone that uses force against those they see as their soldiers. Exactly as they are doing with cops now.
