The video below is the best I have seen, to date, on how the AR15/M4/M16 (AR Platform) works. It covers everything, including a fantastic detailed overview of the firing sequence, in a very well done computer-rendered animation. It is eye opening to see how the pieces come together in a very elegant symphony. If there was any doubt in your head that Eugene Stoner was a genius, this should dispel those thoughts. Not only is this video just fun to watch, it is helpful to gain a solid understanding of how the rifle works so that you can troubleshoot it when it doesn't. Enjoy.10 points

Glad you all liked it. Lord knows we may be on the verge of having to keep our existing rifles running for a very long time.2 points

Agreed. Fortunately, the economy was doing well when Covid hit. No one talks about how much worse it could have been had we not had a strong economy. No one gives Trump that credit.2 points

You know the left won't swallow that. If something bad happens while Trump is in office, it happened "on his watch." If bad things happen during a Biden soon-to-be Harris administration, it will be because of the situation they were given by Trump.2 points

Never tried the Power Belts. I bought 2 boxes of the Barnes Spitfire TMZ bullets from Knight several years ago and have been using them ever since. The Wolf came with some of the PB's but I think they were 300 grains. So we picked up some of the TC spire points since I was a bit low on the Barnes and we couldn't find anything else because it was so close to opening day. I have a couple more boxes of the Spitfires ordered and we'll try those once they come in. P.S. The wife got her first deer yesterday morning. Spike on one side, broken off on the other. But to listen to her, you'd swear it was one for the record books! It was awesome.2 points

This is a very important, and often overlooked detail. What spare parts do folks have for their guns? What breakages can you fix if you don’t have access to ordering new parts? I’m a big fan of the kits offered by White Label Armory1 point

No one talks about the fact that Trump actually inherited a strong economy in 2017 either. It certainly got better under his watch, but he wasn't starting from scratch.1 point

As I recall, Trump said he didn't have the authority to do that. I think Biden will ask for it, but ultimately it will be up to the governors. He already said he would ask them to pass a mask mandate. He didn't say he would order it himself. Even if he tried, I'm sure he would immediately be met with lawsuits.1 point

I jumped this guy up Thursday at 1:30 in the afternoon checking out a new spot on some public land. So I picked me out a big oak; overlooking the flat that runs down below the ridge where I seen him and made a plan to be in the woods a hour before daylight the next day. Got all settled in at 6 Friday morning, about 6:30 I heard somebody pull up down the mountain a bit and around 6:45 seen a flashlight shining on the flat I was watching from the ridge above. He must have been hunting that spot for a bit because he done had a ladder stand put up. I didn't want to move in on another hunter so slipped out the area and went up the mountain a bit. I set up in a spot I'd seen coming in Thursday. Knew the deer was using it pretty regularly, had a decent trial coming outta timbercutting into the hard woods. Found a cluster of trees I liked and set up watching the old logging road below me. I always keep some tinks 69 soaked on a certain feminine product in a bag during this time. I hung the soaked feminine product out on a limb above my head and started out with a few contact grunts and then moved on to estrus bleats. Did two sets of calling and about 15 minutes after my last call; he came down wind of me working that road. It was around 9 when he gave me a shot and I pulled the trigger. The trusty Hornady XTP did its job like always. Might have made it 50 yards before piling up. I'm pleased with him and he'll put some meat in the freezer. I've shot bigger but for public land in Scott Co, it's a decent deer. Will say these high mountain bucks have some of the biggest bodies I've seen in East TN. Sure did a number on my back by the time I drug him out to the atv.1 point

I know that wasn’t directed at me, but sure, if you google it there are plenty of Doctors taking pay cuts, and plenty of Doctors taking leave. But my point is simply that I, like most of us is trying to determine the real risk of this. I do not doubt even a little bit that Covid is killing people, and it can kill me. But turning off the economy is killing people also. So my question is… Is the data real? If health care facilities or states are getting federal aid; good. If they are getting it based on the number of deaths; everyone will be a Covid death and we have no way of knowing what the real risk is. The information I tried to find was total monthly deaths from all causes in Tennessee for 2019 and the same months in 2020. If 30 people a day are dying of Covid in the state, the numbers should reflect that. If the numbers don’t reflect that, the only logical conclusion is that everything now is being called a Covid death. I don’t know if that’s happening or not. We have all heard the internet stories of fatalities in vehicle crashes being labeled “Covid”. Are those rare, isolated cases? A cold can kill a 90 or 100-year-old person. Are they actually tested and positive for Covid? I’m not making an argument either way, other than to say shutting the economy down is deadly and should not be done without irrefutable facts. This ain’t rocket science. If the elderly deaths are being labeled Covid just because they were in respiratory failure, without a positive Covid test; we’re being lied to. We are used to the manipulation of data here. We do it, the anti-gunners do it. It’s all about what you want the data to show.1 point

Ha, ha, ha of course, it would have zero impact on the numbers of babies born. It could have great impact with whatever you were trying to show with the testing data. If hospitals or states were getting money based on how many pregnancies they handled; you would probably show men having babies.1 point

The wood is going to have to dry first and you can figure about 1 year per inch of thickness in a normal atmosphere. You also need to treat the ends to prevent splitting.1 point

Well I am working on it. The iron and wet cloth worked. Who knew? I have 4 coats on it now. It looks good except for 1 spot? But it is getting smaller each coat. We shall see. Blessings1 point

I picked up this little beauty earlier today from a local seller. Browning Model 1955 .380. This was a re-introduction of the FN Model 1910 intended for the U.S. market and sold by Browning. The gun is absolutely perfect. Not a mark on it anywhere. I seriously believe it may be unfired. No box or papers, but it did come with the original Browning black leather gun rug. Serial number dates it to 1968. It snuck in just before GCA 68 banned them. The guns continued to be sold in Europe until the mid-1970s. Very sweet little gun. For $550, I think I did quite well.:D Unfortunately the weather forecast is calling for rain most of next week. Don't know when I'll get a chance to shoot it. But I will shoot it.1 point

I belong to both. Despite its current problems, the NRA does have clout. They also have some serious internal problems that have gone on for years. King Wayne long ago got much to into playing politics and became our own worst enemy. Honestly, I hope he ends up in jail. Hopefully, the NRA will come through these troubles better for the experience and regain its glory. Omega is right about GOA. These guys are bare knuckle fighters and don't back down or compromise. If GOA was as big as the NRA, we wouldn't have to fight for our rights. Maybe the NRA's current problems will help GOA grow. I strongly recommend them.1 point

Deer were really active this morning. I still haven’t seen a really good buck though....unless you count the one I ran over this morning on the way to hunt. He was a nice one.0 points
