It’s really hard to get a grasp of what you’re seeing when you look at this bucks rack. This was the third buck I saw this morning and I put my muzzleloader down and started to let him pass. Then I looked again trying to figure out what I was seeing on his head. I was half standing, twisted to my left, and leaned back against the tree when I shot....the first time. He jumped, looked towards my direction and immediately resumed making scrapes and rubs all the while easing CLOSER to my stand. I couldn’t believe he didn’t run off! I reloaded just knowing that any second he’d be gone like the wind. Was able to stand all the way up and line up the shot like I should have the first time. He ran about 20 yards and dropped 15 yards from my stand. When I realized he was expired I climbed down to look and thought dang, he’s crazier looking than I thought! I’m so happy with this buck, he will probably be the only buck I ever see like this. He has 19 points, 15 of those are scoreable points. It was a fun morning to be out and glad to have a freezer full of meat and a beautiful non-typical rack to talk about for years! I didn’t get to bow hunt as much as I would have liked to but Monday I was in a tree all day and watched bucks chasing doe like it was full rut. I didn’t see one doe today, just this buck and the two early cruisers. But they were daylight cruising and that’s what gets us tore up. I think it’s going to cut loose full force the next cold drop we get. Heck it feels like a beautiful Spring day out there today haha. Hope everyone is enjoying the hunting so far, it’s getting ready to get more fun. P.S. Please wear your harnesses and be safe!4 points

I've decided to trade 1/2 my ammo for a private island and start my own country.3 points

I can see why. Hell, even the 30.30 was fun. They are deceptive. Just like the m1 carbine.2 points

I love a good pony, have several. If someone hasn't seen one of the newer ones, be aware they are not quite the same standard from 2017-18 and before. If your expectation is that it's like an older one you may have, I'd suggest inspecting the unit thoroughly first. Their changes to reduce expenses in this particular line are starting to really show on the latest models. Ultimately comes down to your reason for looking at a Colt AR vs anyone else's. Some general observations from hands on. Outside the well known move to laser engraving vs rollmarking, the new 6920's no longer carry the M4 designation, rather simply "Carbine". Some of Colt cage code markings are gone, not just the "C" that went away some time ago. I was surprised when looking at one to find they grind down extension lugs / feed ramps when testing shows feeding problems from slightly off extensions. It was heavy grinding, not just lightly dressing sharp edges (technically acceptable). Previously they tended to rebarrel or replace extensions from what they told me when I called. Also, the new bolts dont have the full machining of relief cuts intended to ease unlocking like the olders ones. Probably get batches from a new lower cost subcontractor.2 points

I have no problem with a small fee to post an ad. But charging to buy is ridiculous. I won't do it. There;s a rifle on there now that I'd like to ask the seller a few questions about. Looks like that ain't gonna happen.2 points

I don't know what was bought up first, but on Ammo Seek the top ammo sought after was 9mm. .223/5.56 was 2nd and 3rd.2 points

It's hot, there are no elk, I bought a co-ax press, .223 is more than enough for antelope at 400yds & we've probably lost the election. . . . Also, there are no elk. That is all, please continue......1 point

My friend and I both figured he was 3 1/2 definitely no older. Didn’t figure he got all that in 2 1/2 years but knew that he wasn’t 4 1/2 for sure. The TWRA biologists aged him at Flowers and said he was indeed 3 1/2.1 point

The really cool thing about a lever rifle is that they are flat. There are no protrusions to bump against things. They slide out of a scabbard nicely. They carry well in the hand.1 point

I have the Maxim Defense version on my ar pistol and the sbpdw on my MP5 clone.1 point

Thanks to @TGO David and his raving about red dot sights, a great deal on a RMR, and a good deal on a 4th gen Glock 19 MOS, I finally decided to try a RDS on a pistol for the first time in 20+ years. I can't wait to try this out and see how my crappy eyes work with the RMR. Astigmatism has its challenges. Yes, decent deals on pistols still exist. I picked up a new MOS for less than I've seen standard Glocks listed for here.1 point

I have a SBPDW its a great stock, I bought it because it looked MP5ish, kind of pricey, if I did it over I'd buy a SBA31 point

Missed a decent buck right at daylight. Saw 3 bucks, a doe with last year’s fawn, and a coyote. It was slow. I’m guessing because the moon was bright last night combined with this beach weather we’re having. Got back home and shot a target. Dead on. I guess I’m like Toby Keith...”not as good as I once was”.1 point

Welcome to the TGO Den of Thieves. It will be a rapidly growing membership through this standard when you consider the number of members who own "AR/AK etc. pistols" with brace who in some eyes circumvents the "fee". Mind you, I have no problem paying a fee to post an item for sale on any media/social media platform. I do have an issue paying a fee in order to have the ability to send emails that go unanswered or spend my money, especially when the platform does not hold the inventory. I pay my fees here at TGO as I do other places and try to follow TGO rules as agreed, to include not calling other members names or calling their integrity into question if I post a disagreement with their position. I respect that the duties of an Administrator requires much effort, time and yes expense in order to maintain a site to the high standard that TGO operates. The standard by which TGO generally operates is why it is the only firearms board I participate in.1 point

I am not believing that all those gun owners are not my enemies. There are quite a few lefties that are increasingly becoming violent, and feel anyone that does not agree with them are their enemies.1 point

People are scrambling to pick up AR pistols and pistol braces because they think the ATF is going to do to them what they did to bump stocks. Buying that stuff in a panic makes no sense, because *IF* the ATF screws us all over on this, you're either going to register it as an NFA item and might as well put a real stock on it, or you're going to hide it away and risk being charged with a felony if ever caught using it. The ATF needs to be done away with.1 point

In general terms, I do not expect the current retail climate to change much at all for the remainder of the year. The whole thing is rather complicated and multi-faceted. Ammunition: This is equal parts a supply issue, a demand issue and retailers taking advantage of the situation. Primers are in short supply, so there is already a constraint on availability at the component level. This naturally causes prices to increase at a wholesale level. Completed ammunition is increasingly in shorter supply, but I know for an absolute fact that you can still buy 9mm FMJ from the wholesale channel for around 22-cents per round because I recently brokered the sale of approximately 52,000 rounds of 9mm and 5.56 NATO ammunition for a small group of individuals. I could go on an absolute tear about this but I am going to refrain for now. Retailers who are charging exorbitant sums for 9mm FMJ should be taken note of and remembered when this settles. One caliber that I can attest to being much more expensive today than it was in February, at wholesale and retail pricing, is 300 Blackout. The price on that shiz is nuts. If you have it, I'd be sitting on it and not shooting it unless I had to right now. Black Rifle Parts: Whole, mass-produced AR-15 pattern rifles are still easy to come by thanks to the absolute glut of them that were produced over the last 10 years. Pricing on them hasn't changed a whole lot. Boutique rifles and component parts are a different story, and those go hand in hand anyway. I don't see this changing until after the election and maybe even beyond that. Supply needs to catch up to the demand. Manufacturers like Aero Precision, Bravo Company Machine, Rosco Manufacturing, Ballistic Advantage, Midwest Gun Works, etc. are all still releasing product albeit in small batches that get cleaned out almost immediately. You can thank social media for that. As soon as barrels, uppers, lowers, handguards, etc. hit these manufacturer's web stores or the web stores of the retail channel, it gets posted by the likes of MrGunsNGear on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. or it makes the headlines on Reddit and major national forums. People are cleaning-out supply as soon as it hits. And while I guess that's nice if it means that there are more armed citizens exercising their Second Amendment rights than ever ( aka "a rising tide raises all ships") there is a pessimistic side of me that thinks there are a lot of parts that will never be used sitting in personal caches. I hope I am wrong. Handguns: You can still buy pretty much any handgun you want right now, but in some cases you may have to wait a few weeks to find the exact variation you are searching for. Also, this is legitimately the only time that I can remember wherein Glocks were seriously selling for MSRP. Nine or ten months ago, at the very most, you could buy a new Gen 5 Glock 19 for $525. These days you're probably going to pay closer to $600 and you might have to wait while your local retailer orders it for you from Lipseys, RSR, Sports South, etc. I blame this entirely on the number of people who are buying handguns to protect themselves for the first time ever because of the current political and social climate and social turmoil. I hope that those people (a.) get training, (b.) own them responsibly, and (c.) keep them beyond 2021 and become advocates for the 2A now that they understand why it matters. I am obviously glazing over other areas of the gun industry right now, but these are the things most people are noticing the effects of and maybe wondering what the hell is driving it all. The ammunition and shortage of AR parts are the things that annoy me the most, presently, for the reasons I mentioned.1 point

Like you, I don’t expect the election to be decided right away. But I expect it to be decided shortly after January 3rd when the new congress is seated. I don’t see any way it can’t be. I also expect the mail in voting to be corrupt. But I suspect if that is proven it would also just send it to the Congress. I never thought we would be where we are now in my lifetime. I’m as prepared as I can be to protect my family and property. But not prepared for a lack of food. I doubt though the violence would last that long. Mother Nature could cause me to leave my property; but I’ll not leave due to civil unrest. Financially I’m Okay, but if Biden is elected and the economy takes a big hit, which I'm sure would happen; that could change. But to answer your question about being concerned. I’m very concerned that law enforcement is failing to act. And I blame them for that. And I never thought I would see that either.1 point

I picked up this little beauty earlier today from a local seller. Browning Model 1955 .380. This was a re-introduction of the FN Model 1910 intended for the U.S. market and sold by Browning. The gun is absolutely perfect. Not a mark on it anywhere. I seriously believe it may be unfired. No box or papers, but it did come with the original Browning black leather gun rug. Serial number dates it to 1968. It snuck in just before GCA 68 banned them. The guns continued to be sold in Europe until the mid-1970s. Very sweet little gun. For $550, I think I did quite well.:D Unfortunately the weather forecast is calling for rain most of next week. Don't know when I'll get a chance to shoot it. But I will shoot it.0 points
